The NTR-16 keeps its minimum runway height to 7.5″. That is the figure worth reading twice on this listing, because it is what lets a low-slung vehicle, a loaded trailer dolly or a long wheelbase van drive on without a plank under the ramp.

Why the runway height is the spec that changes your day

Loading height sets the ramp angle, and ramp angle is what decides whether a vehicle drives on cleanly or has to be coaxed. At 7.5″, the approach is shallow enough that air dams, long front overhangs and low-hanging exhaust systems clear rather than scrape. On a lift this size the vehicles are usually vans, crew cabs, box trucks and service bodies, where the overhang behind the rear axle is long and the breakover angle is poor — exactly the shapes that ground on a tall four-post.

It also matters at the other end of the job. A lower deck means less of the lift's travel is spent getting the vehicle off the ground, so more of the stroke is usable working height, and it makes the lift easier to load solo without a spotter.

• Runway spacing. Adjustable, from 42.5″ to 46.4″ between the runways, with the outside edges then sitting between 82.5″ and 86.4″ apart. Check both a narrow-track and a wide-track vehicle against that range.
• Runway width. 20″, which is wide enough to place a dual-rear-wheel axle without steering by feel.
• Power. 220 Volt single phase. Book the electrician before delivery, not after.

Twelve locks, and what long runways are really for

Each column carries 12 locking positions. On a lift rated to 16,000 lbs that granularity is not about convenience — it is about being able to set a working height that suits the job and then have the load sit on steel rather than on hydraulic pressure for the hours it takes to do it.

The 224.5″ runways are the other half of the commercial specification. Runway length decides how much of a long vehicle is actually supported rather than hanging off the end, and a crew cab with a service body or an extended van is long enough that a car-length deck leaves the rear axle unsupported. Buying runway length you do not need costs floor space; buying too little costs you the vehicles you wanted the lift for in the first place.

We do not list an independent third-party lift safety listing for this model, and we are not going to imply one by writing an acronym that the product's own data never claims. The distinction is worth understanding: a manufacturer's declaration of conformity is the builder making a statement about its own product, while an independent listing means an outside body tested the lift and audits the plant that builds it. They are different documents and one does not substitute for the other. Commercial insurance policies, fleet safety programmes and some local jurisdictions specifically require the second kind on shop lifts. Shipping and delivery

This lift moves by freight truck to addresses in the lower 48 states. Freight is quoted live at checkout for your address, so the figure you see is a current carrier rate rather than an estimate that has drifted. At over 3,100 lbs crated this is not a shipment that comes off the trailer by hand — unloading is the receiver's responsibility, and you need a forklift, a dock or a machine on site. If that is not realistic, taking delivery at the carrier's local terminal is usually easier, because the terminal already has the equipment. Delivery to a residential address carries a residential fee, applied at checkout when you select it.

Inspect the shipment before you sign. Bent runway edges, crushed corners, shifted banding and oil are what to look for; write anything you find onto the bill of lading while the driver is still there, and photograph it. A clean signed bill of lading is the carrier's evidence that everything arrived intact, and reversing that afterwards is hard.
