-Description
-Quincy G213H30HCB QT — 13 HP Honda, 30 Gallon Truck-Mount Two-Stage Air Compressor
Two specifications on this machine are worth more than the horsepower figure, and both concern what happens when nobody is paying attention. It has automatic idle control, so the engine drops back when the tank is full instead of running flat out between tool bursts — on a service truck, where the compressor is running all day and the fuel is coming out of a job margin, that is money and engine hours saved every single call. And it has an engine low oil shutdown, which stops the Honda before a low level becomes a scrap engine on the side of a highway.
The package: a 13 HP Honda petrol engine with 12-Volt button start, a cast iron QT-7.5 belt drive pump, a 30 gallon horizontal receiver, 175 PSI and a 100% duty rating. This is a truck mount unit, and the current copy says so in the first line for good reason — it is not a wheeled workshop compressor.
Three things to know before you order
No battery, no cable. Electric start needs a 12-Volt supply, and it does not come with one. On a service body that supply normally comes off the vehicle through a cable and isolator provided by you or your upfitter. It is the most common surprise on delivery day for engine-driven compressors and it is entirely avoidable if you plan it now.
The pump is splash lubricated, and that is stated plainly here so you can size the machine to the job. It is a proven arrangement and it is what the price reflects. If your application involves working on serious inclines, very cold starts or exceptionally long unattended runs, ask us about the pressure lubricated model in the same family instead, which uses a gerotor oil pump.
No oil sight glass. Our specification record says this build does not have one, which makes the low oil shutdown more important rather than less — and makes a scheduled dipstick check part of the routine, not an optional extra.
Will it go on your truck?
Measure the deck before ordering. The unit is 42" long, 21" wide, 40" tall and weighs 515 lb. That weight is a crane or forklift job to mount, and it comes out of the vehicle's payload, so check it against the axle and gross vehicle ratings — that is the buyer's responsibility and it is one people skip. Leave clear air around the flywheel and intercooler: this machine cools itself with moving air, and a compressor jammed against a headboard will run hot.
Fuel supply, exhaust routing and ventilation are yours to arrange. A petrol engine must never be run in an enclosed body or a closed workshop. That is a carbon monoxide point, not a warranty one.
What automatic idle actually does for you
Without it, an engine-driven compressor runs at full governed speed whenever it is switched on, whether or not the pump is loaded. Between the impact gun coming off one wheel and going onto the next, you are burning fuel and wearing an engine for nothing. Automatic idle senses that the receiver is up to pressure and drops the engine to a low speed, then brings it back the moment demand returns.
Multiply that across a working day of tyre changes or roadside calls and the difference in fuel is real, the difference in engine hours is real, and the difference in noise — for the technician standing next to it and for whoever's driveway you are parked in — is the one everybody notices first.
The pump, the flywheel and the valves
The QT-7.5 cast iron belt drive pump is the same well-known unit found under Quincy's shop machines, rated at 50,000 hours of life or more, with an aluminium head for heat dissipation and graphite cylinder and head gaskets that hold their seal through repeated heat cycling. Between the compression stages is a high-efficiency fin and tube intercooler, which lowers interstage temperature so the second stage does less work and the valves live longer.
Those valves are stainless steel reeds with bumpers to control their lift, so they neither corrode in wet field air nor batter themselves flat. Driving cooling air over all of it is a fan-type cast iron flywheel, which is also what keeps a two-cylinder pump turning smoothly rather than shaking its mounts loose on a truck deck.
Perfect For
- Tyre and roadside service trucks — automatic idle pays for itself fastest here.
- Mobile fleet maintenance running impact tools all day at 100% duty.
- Utility, municipal and agricultural vehicles working well away from mains power.
- Contractors who want two-stage shop pressure on site rather than a small portable.
What's in the Box
The complete compressor: Honda engine with electric start and low oil shutdown, QT-7.5 cast iron belt drive pump, fin and tube intercooler, cast iron flywheel, 30 gallon horizontal receiver, air filter and pressure gauge. Not supplied: the battery and cable, mounting hardware for your specific body, fuel plumbing, hose and any enclosure.

No air delivery figure is published on this page: more than one is in circulation for this unit, measured at different pressures. Since CFM is the number a technician sizes a tool kit against, tell us what you run and we will get the manufacturer's rated delivery at your working pressure in writing before you order.
Certification, stated plainly
The certification field we hold names ASME, UL and CSA. Those are receiver and component level claims and we will not stretch them. Nothing in our data amounts to a third-party safety listing for the complete engine-driven assembly, which is a different document covering different ground. If a fleet policy, a site induction or an insurer asks for a listing on the whole machine, tell us before ordering and we will chase the manufacturer for it rather than reassure you and hope.
Shipping and Delivery
Freight only, lower 48, quoted live at checkout against your address rather than estimated. At 515 lb this arrives crated on a pallet and needs a forklift, a dock, or a terminal collection — and terminal collection is often the sensible option for a workshop with no unloading gear. Residential deliveries carry a residential fee.
Inspect it in front of the driver: crating, engine shroud, tank, gauge, belt guard. Write anything you are unsure about on the bill of lading before signing. Signing clean and phoning later leaves you with very little ground to stand on.
Warranty
There is a 1 year factory warranty. It extends to Quincy's 3-Year "No Bull" cover provided the EWK-3 maintenance kit is bought at the time of purchase and the unit is registered at www.quincycompressor.com. Both conditions have to be met at the point of sale, so if you want the longer term, tell us while the order is being placed and we will add the kit to it.
If a fault turns up, open the claim before the machine is opened. Taking a pump or an engine apart to work out what went wrong is the usual way a covered failure stops being covered.
