Description
-Schulz V-Series 7580VV30X 7.5 HP 80-Gallon Two-Stage Air Compressor (230V 3-Phase)
Schulz builds this vertical 80-gallon two-stage in more than one supply voltage, and the listings are easy to confuse because the machine is identical apart from the motor windings. This one is the 230V 3-Phase build. Buying the wrong voltage is not a fault you find on the invoice - you find it on install day, with an electrician standing there and a compressor that cannot be rewound in your car park. So the most valuable thing this page can do is help you buy the right one.
Check the panel that will feed it, at the point of connection, and check what is written on the breaker rather than what the building was described as when you leased it. If there is any uncertainty, contact us and we will confirm the build against the model and serial before it ships.
What three-phase gives you here
On the same 7.5 HP output, three-phase power is simply easier on everything. The torque delivered to the pump is continuous rather than pulsing twice per cycle, so the drive and the mounts see a smoother load. Current is shared across three conductors, so the draw on each is lower and the feeders and switchgear work well within themselves. And a three-phase motor starts on its own rotating field, with no start capacitor or centrifugal switch to fail - two of the most common failure points on a single-phase compressor simply do not exist here.
What you give up is availability: three-phase service is a property question, not a purchase decision. If your building has it, this build is the one to take. Schulz refers amp draw and breaker sizing to a certified electrician rather than publishing figures, which is the correct answer given how much depends on your run length and local code, and we pass it on unchanged.
Will it fit?
The plan area is 39.3" by 25.2" and the machine weighs 565 lbs. That is a genuinely small footprint for 80 gallons of storage, and the tank is vertical, so it backs into a corner with all the serviceable parts facing out.
Overall height: ask us. Our records for this particular build carry a height figure we do not trust - it is recorded the same as the plan dimension, which cannot be right for a vertical tank of this capacity, and the figure on a sibling listing of the same pump differs. Rather than print a number that might send you shopping for the wrong ceiling clearance, we would rather you asked. Tell us the height you have available and we will confirm the real overall dimension from Schulz before you order. Assume in the meantime that a vertical 80-gallon receiver will not pass upright through a standard interior door.
The slab needs to be flat and level, the drain at the base of the column needs to stay reachable, and confirming clearance along the route in is the buyer's job.
The pump and the air it makes
This is a solid cast-iron, two-stage, belt-driven pump: air is compressed, cooled between stages, then compressed again, which is what makes a working pressure of 175 PSI reasonable instead of punishing. The V-cylinder block is spaced and deeply finned for cooling, the valves are Swedish steel, the main bearings are oversized, and the components are CNC machined. Belts are notched and run inside an enclosed guard.
An after-cooler is fitted, so most of the moisture the air is carrying condenses at the compressor and leaves through the tank drain rather than through your hose. There is no air dryer and no electronic drain valve, so tank draining is a manual routine, and the outlet connection is 1/2". Lubrication is splash-fed with an oil sight glass and no low-oil shutdown - the level is a person's responsibility, checked by eye.
Perfect For
- Three-phase shops replacing a tired single-stage compressor without rebuilding the room.
- Bays where floor area is tight but wall space is available.
- Service and tyre work needing steady pressure through a busy day.
- Second machines added to an existing three-phase distribution.
What is in the box
Only what the manufacturer states: the compressor and its 80-gallon vertical receiver, a WEG electric motor, the V-Series solid cast-iron two-stage pump, an after-cooler, a magnetic starter, an oil sight glass, notched belts under an enclosed guard, and powder-coated components. There is no air dryer and no electronic drain valve, and no piping, hose, filtration or electrical work is supplied.

Certification, stated plainly
The air receiver and safety valve are code-stamped to the ASME pressure-vessel standard. That is the certification the product claims and it is a meaningful one, but its scope is the tank and the relief device that protects it - no more than that. It is not a third-party safety listing of the completed electrical assembly, and it does not stand in for the electrical inspection a hard-wired machine may require. Where a policy or contract you work under names a specific listing for powered equipment, check the actual wording against this unit before purchase rather than assuming the pressure-vessel stamp answers it.
Shipping and delivery
Shipped by freight within the lower 48 states, with the cost quoted live at checkout for your address. At 565 lbs it arrives upright on a pallet and unloading is yours to arrange - forklift, dock, or terminal pickup, which plenty of buyers without a dock choose on purpose. Residential delivery is available and carries a residential fee applied at checkout. Inspect it while the driver is still on site: tank shell, base, guard, gauge and control box, with photographs of anything doubtful, and write any damage on the bill of lading before you sign. A clean signature is extremely difficult to argue with later. Local pickup of Schulz equipment is available in Acworth, GA - reach us by phone, text or chat on 866-774-7743.
Warranty
Coverage is 1 year on the complete unit and 2 years on the pump, in consumer and commercial use alike. Raise a claim before dismantling anything; a pump that has been opened is usually outside the terms, and it can no longer be examined by anyone. Record the serial number when the machine lands, keep it with your paperwork, and keep a simple log of oil changes and belt checks.
