Schulz 7580HV30X-3 V-Series 7.5 HP 80-Gallon Two-Stage Air Compressor (460V 3-Phase)

At 553 lbs this is the lightest machine in the 80-gallon V-Series family, and it is horizontal, which puts its overall height at 45". Those two numbers together describe something the specification sheet does not spell out: this is the build you can actually get into a difficult building, and get out again when you move.

45" clears a standard door head with room to spare, so it goes in upright on a pallet jack rather than tilted, through a roller door, with three people and a plan. And 553 lbs is at the friendly end of what a single pallet jack and a flat floor will handle. If your compressor has to travel down a corridor, round a corner and into a back room, that matters more than any other line on the page.

Small to move, not small to work

Nothing about the pump has been reduced to get there. It is a 7.5 HP motor on 460V 3-Phase power driving a solid cast-iron, two-stage, belt-driven V-Series pump into an 80-gallon horizontal receiver rated to 175 PSI, with an after-cooler fitted. The weight saving is in the layout and the tank orientation, not in the iron that does the work.

Running it on 460V is the other half of the story. At the higher supply voltage the same output draws proportionally less current, so the conductors are lighter, the voltage drop over a long run from the panel is smaller, and the starter is comfortably inside its rating. In a building already distributing 460V, this is simply the sensible build.

Will it fit?

Dimensions are 56" long, 23" wide and 45" tall. The 23" width is the number that gets it through doorways - measure the trim rather than the nominal opening, but a standard single leaf will normally take it. The 56" length is the one to plan the wall and the corners for; a load that fits a corridor does not automatically turn out of it.

Once it is in, set it on a flat, level slab. Leave enough space to read the sight glass, reach the belt guard and open the tank drain without moving the machine - the maintenance that keeps a cast-iron pump alive has to stay easy or it stops being done.

The electrical side is the buyer's to confirm: that 460V 3-Phase supply exists at the position the compressor will occupy, and that a certified electrician sizes the circuit. Schulz publishes no amp draw and no recommended breaker, referring both to that electrician, and we are not going to substitute a guess for a professional judgement that depends on your service and your run.

Two stages, and cooled air at the tank

Two-stage compression compresses, cools and compresses again, and that is what makes a sustained 175 PSI reasonable rather than punishing on the pump. The cast-iron V-cylinder block is spaced with deep fins so it rejects heat instead of storing it, the valves are Swedish steel, the main bearings are oversized, and the components are CNC machined; notched belts run inside an enclosed guard.

An after-cooler is fitted as standard, which drops much of the moisture out of the air at the compressor - into the tank drain, where you can deal with it - rather than letting it travel down the line to a tool or a gun. There is no air dryer and no electronic drain valve, so draining the receiver is a scheduled manual job, and the outlet connection is 1/2". Oil is splash-fed with a sight glass and no low-oil shutdown, so the level is checked by eye.

Perfect For

  • Buildings on 460V distribution where the compressor room is a long way from the panel.
  • Awkward access - back rooms, basements, corridors, standard doorways.
  • Tenants who expect to move and want equipment that moves with them.
  • Shops that want two-stage air without giving up head height.

What is in the box

What the manufacturer lists, and nothing added: the compressor on its 80-gallon horizontal receiver, a WEG electric motor, the V-Series solid cast-iron two-stage pump, an after-cooler, a magnetic starter, an inlet air filter, a pressure gauge, an oil sight glass, notched belts under an enclosed guard, and powder-coated components. No air dryer, no electronic drain valve, no piping, hose, filtration, disconnect or installation labour.

Certification, stated plainly

The air receiver and its safety valve are stamped to the ASME pressure-vessel code, which is the certification this product carries. It is worth knowing precisely what that means: it certifies the vessel and its relief device. It is not a third-party safety listing of the finished electrical assembly, and it is not what an electrical inspector will be asking about when this machine is hard-wired into your building. If an insurer, a landlord or a fleet contract specifies a named listing for powered shop equipment, read that clause and check it against this unit before you place the order.

Shipping and delivery

This ships freight to the lower 48 states, rated live at checkout for the destination you enter. 553 lbs arrives on a pallet by truck and the driver's responsibility stops at the tail of the trailer, so have a forklift or a dock ready, or take terminal pickup and collect it. Residential addresses can be served, with a residential fee added at checkout. Inspect before signing, every time: check the tank, the feet, the guard, the gauge and the control box, photograph anything that looks wrong, and write it onto the bill of lading before the driver pulls away - damage recorded at delivery is a claim, damage found afterwards is a conversation. Schulz pickup is offered at Acworth, GA. Call, text or chat with us on 866-774-7743.

Warranty

Schulz warrants the unit for 1 year and the pump for 2 years, in consumer and commercial service alike. Do not disassemble a suspected failure before the claim is registered - an opened pump is normally outside the terms, and it destroys the evidence that would have supported the claim. Take the serial number down when it arrives, keep it with the invoice, and keep a short record of oil changes and belt tension checks; documented maintenance is what makes a warranty claim straightforward.
