Ranger RP-50FC: the crusher and the drum are one system
Plenty of shops own a filter crusher and still have an oil problem, because the crusher lives on a bench and the waste oil ends up somewhere else. The RP-50FC is supplied with a rugged floor stand built to accommodate a 55-gallon drum underneath it, so the oil pressed out of a filter goes straight into the drum you already use for waste oil. No catch tray to empty, no transfer step, no puddle on the floor between the two. That integration is the reason to buy this machine rather than a crusher on its own, and it is what makes the 20% and 95% figures below actually translate into a tidier shop.
The press behind it is a 25-ton electric/hydraulic unit developing a maximum crushing pressure of 50,000 lbs., with an automatic cycle: load the filter, press the button, walk away.
What 25 tons does to a used filter
A used oil filter is mostly void — pleated media, a can, and a surprising amount of oil trapped in both. Crushed under 25 tons, it is reduced to 20% of its original size with 95% of the residual oil driven out of it. Those two numbers are worth reading as costs rather than as engineering trivia.
The first is storage and disposal. A drum that used to hold five uncrushed filters holds a great many crushed ones, so the collection interval stretches and the number of hazardous-waste pickups you pay for falls. The second is compliance. A filter that still holds oil is a wet filter, and wet filters are handled and priced differently from drained ones; getting 95% of the oil out is what moves the waste stream into the cheaper, cleaner category and lets the recovered oil be recycled rather than discarded. The manufacturer states the machine fulfils EPA and other mandated environmental standards; what your own local authority requires is worth confirming, because those rules vary by state and by county.
The automatic cycle, and why walking away matters
Cycle time is approximately 8 to 15 seconds depending on filter size. That is short enough that it is tempting to stand and watch it, which is exactly the labour this machine is designed to eliminate. Load, initiate, and go back to the vehicle — the press completes on its own. Across an oil-change bay doing dozens of services a day, the recovered minutes are the whole business case.
Controls are ergonomic and offer both automatic and manual cycles, so a difficult filter can be worked deliberately when it needs to be. The safety door is transparent, which means the operator can see the crush happening rather than listening to it, and it automatically stops operation when opened. That interlock is the specification that makes an unattended cycle a reasonable idea rather than a reckless one.
What it will take, and what it will not
The chamber accepts automotive and heavy-duty filters up to 15.25" long and 6" in diameter. Chamber opening dimensions are 16" high (406 mm), 9.8" wide (249 mm) and 11.5" deep (292 mm). Measure the largest filter you routinely handle — a heavy-duty diesel filter is a very different object from a passenger-car one, and this is the specification that decides whether the machine covers your whole workload or only part of it.
The frame is welded steel plate. On a machine that repeatedly develops tens of thousands of pounds of force in a small volume, plate construction and weld quality are the whole story of whether it holds its alignment over years of daily cycles, and it is the reason the unit weighs what it does.
Will it fit
Overall height is 90.5" (2,299 mm) — that is the number to check first, because at over seven and a half feet the machine will not go under a low soffit, a duct run or a mezzanine. Footprint is 32.5" wide (826 mm) by 31.5" deep (800 mm), and you need clear access underneath the stand to roll a 55-gallon drum in and out.
Power is single phase, and here the manufacturer's own data gives two different answers: the specification table and the voltage field both say 208-230VAC, 1 Ph, 50/60 Hz, while the descriptive copy says 208-240V. The lower and upper ends of that range are not the same circuit, so confirm the exact figure with us before an electrician runs anything. The pump is a 2 HP electric-hydraulic unit with a 2-gallon reservoir.
It arrives crated at 718 lbs. (326 kg), 75" x 35" x 20" (1,905 mm x 889 mm x 508 mm), so unloading needs a forklift or a dock. Confirming your ceiling height, your circuit and your unloading method before delivery is the buyer's responsibility, and all three are quicker to check than to fix afterwards.

The manufacturer states that this machine fulfils EPA and other mandated environmental standards, and that claim is carried here as they make it. Beyond that, the product data we hold claims no third-party safety listing for the machine, and we will not imply one. Some insurers and some local jurisdictions require shop equipment carrying an independent test-house listing — a document issued by an outside laboratory, which is a different thing from a manufacturer's own declaration of conformity. Shipping and delivery
The RP-50FC ships as freight within the lower 48 states. Unloading is arranged at the receiving end — a forklift, a dock with a pallet jack, or a collection you make from the carrier's terminal. Given the crate height, plan the route from the delivery point to the machine's final position before the truck arrives. Residential delivery is a different service from a commercial dock and carries a residential fee, quoted live at checkout. Inspect the crate before signing and record any damage on the bill of lading while the driver is present; a clean signature is very hard to walk back.
