Description
-Ranger RP-30FCH 15-Ton Capacity Electric/Hydraulic Oil Filter Crusher with Stand
This is the crusher that does not need a compressor. The RP-30FCH runs on an electric-hydraulic power unit — 208-240V / 50/60 Hz / 1 Ph — rather than shop air, which makes it the right choice for a bay with no air drop, a mobile service facility, or a shop that does not want a filter crusher competing with impact guns for compressor capacity. It applies 30,000 pounds of force, or 15 tons, to a used filter and leaves a puck.
It arrives on its own integrated stand at a full 75" (1,905 mm) tall, so the chamber sits at working height and the drained oil has somewhere to go without a bench, a pallet or an improvised frame underneath it.
Where the money actually comes back
A used oil filter is mostly void. Crushing it collapses that void and drives out the oil still trapped in the media, and both halves of that pay. The volume of waste you are paying a hauler to take away drops sharply, and the oil that comes out is recoverable rather than landfilled inside a filter housing. For a shop doing volume service work, the disposal line on the monthly invoice is where this machine justifies itself — not in the crushing itself.
The regulatory side matters too. Used oil filters are handled as a specific waste stream, and a drained, crushed filter is a materially different proposition from a wet one when it comes to how it is stored, transported and documented. The RP-30FCH's fully enclosed chamber keeps the operator out of contact with the process while that happens.
The chamber, and what will actually go in it
Filter crushers are bought on force and returned on chamber size, so this is worth checking before anything else.
| Chamber opening height | 10.75" (273 mm) |
| Chamber opening width | 8.5" (216 mm) |
| Chamber opening depth | 10.5" (267 mm) |
That envelope covers ordinary passenger and light-truck filters comfortably and takes a good proportion of heavy-equipment and over-the-road truck filters as well. If your fleet runs a particular large filter, measure it against the figures above — or send us the part number and we will measure it for you. A crusher that will not close on the filter you actually generate is an expensive shelf.
Electric-hydraulic, and why that changes the install
An air-driven crusher is only as consistent as the air behind it: pressure sags when three technicians pull on the line at once, and cycle times stretch with it. An electric-hydraulic power unit delivers the same force on the last cycle of the day as the first, because it is not sharing a resource with the rest of the shop. The published average cycle is 8 to 15 seconds.
The trade is that you need a circuit rather than an air line. Confirm your supply against 208-240V / 50/60 Hz / 1 Ph before delivery, and have an electrician terminate it — this is not a machine to run off an extension cord. Controls are deliberately plain, so a new technician can be trained on it in minutes rather than shown a sequence they will forget.
Will It Fit?
- Overall height: 75" (1,905 mm) — check it against any low ceiling, mezzanine or roller door track
- Overall width: 42.5" (1,080 mm)
- Overall depth: 17" (432 mm)
- Power: 208-240V / 50/60 Hz / 1 Ph
- Shipping weight: 296 lbs. (134 kgs.)
- Shipping dimensions: 33" x 38" x 21" (838 mm x 965 mm x 533 mm)
The narrow 17" (432 mm) depth is the useful part of that footprint — this stands against a wall or at the end of a bench without taking a working aisle out of service. Siting it near the used-oil tank rather than near the lifts is usually the right call, because the trip you make most often with this machine is carrying a full container, not a filter.
Safety, and the part operators actually notice
The chamber is fully enclosed during operation, which keeps hands and clothing away from a press developing 30,000 pounds of force and keeps the spray contained where it belongs. The stand is engineered as part of the machine rather than as an afterthought, so the unit stays planted through the cycle instead of walking. Both of those are unremarkable when they work and extremely noticeable when they do not — which is the argument for a purpose-built stand over a bench.
Perfect For
- High-volume service shops and quick-lube operations where filter disposal is a recurring line item.
- Fleet maintenance facilities handling truck and heavy-equipment filters as well as passenger ones.
- Bays with no air drop, or shops whose compressor is already working hard.
- Industrial and agricultural service centres generating filters in batches rather than one at a time.
What's in the Box
The RP-30FCH ships as the crusher on its integrated stand with the electric-hydraulic power unit and the enclosed crushing chamber — the configuration the 75" (1,905 mm) overall height is measured with. We do not list a collection drum or container here, because our data does not confirm one is included; ask us and we will tell you exactly what the crate holds before you order.
Certification, stated plainly
Our record for this crusher carries no third-party safety listing, and we are not going to write one onto the page. For most buyers this is not a factor — a filter crusher is not regulated the way lifting equipment is. It is worth confirming first if your facility's insurer or a corporate environmental policy requires listed equipment for waste-handling machinery. Ask us before ordering and we will tell you what documentation the manufacturer supplies.
Shipping and delivery
The RP-30FCH ships as freight within the lower 48 states at 296 lbs. (134 kgs.) crated. The carrier's obligation ends at the back of the truck, so you will need a forklift, a dock or enough help to take the crate down — alternatively, collect it from the carrier's terminal, which many shops prefer for a unit this size. A residential delivery address carries a residential fee, quoted at checkout. Check the crate over before signing: write any damage onto the delivery receipt, take photographs on the spot, and let us know the same day.
Warranty
The warranty document Ranger publishes for this product is linked on this page and governs the terms — we do not paraphrase it, because a paraphrase that drifts helps no one. If the unit develops a fault, contact us before opening the hydraulic power unit. A sealed assembly that has been apart is a much harder warranty conversation than one that has not.
