Ranger RP-20FC 10-Ton Capacity Oil Filter Crusher with Stand
There is an X-shaped bevel machined into the press head, and it is the reason this crusher works cleanly. A filter that goes into a crusher standing even slightly off vertical folds sideways instead of collapsing, jams the chamber and sprays. The bevel catches the top of the filter and pre-aligns it into a true vertical press before any real force arrives. It is a small piece of machining that removes the most common cause of a bad cycle, and almost nobody's product copy mentions it.
The RP-20FC is 100% air operated, applying 10 tons of force — the 12.5" diameter cylinder develops a maximum crushing pressure of 20,000 lbs. — through a single-control valve. One lever, one cycle, no electrical install. It ships with the matching stand, which is not an accessory here so much as half the design.
The stand is engineered around your waste tank, not around the crusher
The area beneath the stand is sized to accommodate 5 - 55 gallon storage tanks and trashcans, including drums sitting on a dolly. That geometry is the point: the collection chamber and collector downspout drain residual oil straight down into the tank underneath, so the recovered oil never touches a bucket, a funnel or the floor. The stand is rated to hold in excess of 230 lbs., and it keeps the storage barrel tucked out of the traffic lane instead of parked where somebody will walk into it.
This is the difference between a crusher that reduces your waste volume and one that also recovers your oil without creating a second mess to clean up. Site it next to the used-oil tank and the crushed filter never leaves the immediate area wet.
One figure worth a phone call before you order
Published figures for how far this crusher compacts a filter differ: the product description on this page puts filters at 20% of their original size; the manufacturer's feature list on the same page puts them at 25%. If your disposal contract or your waste calculations depend on the compaction ratio, confirm the current figure with us in writing before you order — we will take it straight from Ranger's current documentation. Oil recovery is not in question: every source puts it at up to 95% of the oil removed.

Two checks are the buyer's responsibility and both are quick. First, the chamber: measure the largest filter you actually generate against the 10.25" x 8" x 11" opening above, or send us a part number and we will do it. A crusher that will not close on your commonest filter is an expensive shelf. Second, the air: this machine wants 125 - 175 psi delivered to it, not merely available somewhere in the building. A long, narrow run of line will not carry it, and a crusher starved of air is slow rather than broken, which makes the problem easy to misdiagnose.
Built plainly, on purpose
Construction is welded steel plate. There is no clever mechanism to go wrong, no electronics and no electrical supply to arrange — which is precisely why an air crusher remains the default in a working bay. Operation runs through a single control valve, so training a new technician on it takes about a minute. The published cycle is 15 - 20 seconds.
Two safety features are worth naming because they are the ones an operator meets. The safety door stops operation automatically when it is opened, so a hand cannot be in the chamber and the press cannot be moving at the same time. And the door is transparent, so the operator can watch the cycle rather than guessing at it — which sounds cosmetic until you have tried to work out why a cycle stalled on a machine you cannot see into. A pressure regulator and air moisture separator come standard, and the moisture separator matters more than it looks: wet shop air is what turns a smooth pneumatic cylinder into a sticky one.

The RP-20FC ships as freight within the lower 48 states. The carrier delivers to the back of the truck only, so you will need a forklift, a dock or enough hands to take 326 lbs. (148 kg) down safely — or arrange to collect from the carrier's terminal instead. A residential delivery address carries a residential fee, quoted live at checkout rather than printed here. Inspect the crate before you sign for it: note damage on the delivery receipt in writing, photograph it while the driver is present, and contact us that day.
