Description
-Ranger RFJ-3000LPF 1.5-Ton Super-Long Floor Jack
A 34″ chassis, because the jack point is rarely where the jack ends
Most service jacks are laid out around the pump. The Ranger RFJ-3000LPF is laid out around the car. Its chassis runs 34″ (864 mm) end to end, which is the whole reason the model carries the word super-long in its name — it puts the saddle under a factory lift point set well inboard of the rocker panel without the operator having to stop short and settle for whatever the jack can physically touch. That one dimension is the specification to check against the vehicles in your bay, and it is the specification that separates this jack from a shorter one of identical tonnage.
Everything around that long body is a conventional hydraulic service jack executed properly: 3,000 lbs (1,361 kg) of rated capacity — 1.5 tons — a pad that starts at 2.75″ (70 mm) off the floor and rises to 24″ (610 mm). It is aimed at technicians, restorers and enthusiasts whose real constraint is reach and entry height rather than raw lifting weight.
Will It Fit?
A floor jack is bought on four measurements, and three of them are about the car rather than the jack. Check these against the lowest and the longest vehicle you expect to put it under before you order.
- Entry height. The pad sits 2.75″ (70 mm) above the floor when the jack is fully lowered. Measure the clearance under the sill of your lowest vehicle at the point you intend to lift, not at the ride height quoted in a brochure — an aftermarket splitter or a loaded car can take an inch out of that figure.
- Reach. The 34″ (864 mm) chassis is what gets the saddle to a recessed lift point. If your vehicles have jack points set close to the rocker, a shorter jack will do; if they are set deep under the frame, this is the measurement you are paying for.
- Lift height. The pad tops out at 24″ (610 mm). That governs how far a wheel comes off the ground and, more importantly, whether your jack stands can be set at a height the jack can actually reach.
- Floor footprint. The body measures 11″ (279 mm) across at the front and widens to 14.5″ (368 mm) at the rear. That spread is what resists the sideways load when a car settles, and it also tells you whether the jack will pass between a wheel and a lift column.
- Surface. The casters need a flat, hard, level floor to roll and to stay put. Gravel, cracked slab, a sloped driveway and rough asphalt all defeat a rolling jack regardless of its rating.
Confirming the clearance, the jack-point position and the floor is the buyer's responsibility. A jack that will not slide under your car is a fitment question, not a warranty question — if you are unsure, send us the vehicle and we will check the numbers with you before you order.
Why the long chassis changes the lift, not just the reach
The obvious benefit of a long body is that the saddle gets further under the car. The less obvious one matters more. When a jack is too short to reach the correct lift point, the usual response is to lift somewhere else — a rocker seam, a suspension arm, a section of floor pan — or to approach the correct point at an angle. Both put load into structure that was never designed to carry the whole corner of a car, and an angled lift lets the saddle walk as the vehicle rises. Reaching the manufacturer's designated point squarely is the safest lift available, and the 34″ chassis is simply what makes that possible on a vehicle with a long wheelbase or a deeply recessed jack point.
The long frame also spreads the reaction load over more floor, and the body is heavy-gauge steel with welded side plates running its length — flexing in the middle is the failure mode a long chassis invites, and reinforced plates are the standard answer to it.
Hydraulics, and the two parts you will actually notice
The lifting cylinder runs a sealed hydraulic system. Sealing matters in a shop far more than in a home garage: brake dust, grinding swarf and oil mist are what shorten a jack's life, and keeping them out of the fluid is what holds lift and speed over years rather than months.
The second is the release valve, which is precision-machined, and the effect is control on the way down. A coarse valve is either open or shut, so a car drops the last inch onto the stands; a finely machined one lets you meter the descent and set the vehicle down gently. An overload valve sits behind both, bleeding pressure rather than letting the jack be pumped past its rating.
Moving it, and storing it
The unit weighs 106 lbs (48 kg), and that mass is meant to be there — it is part of what keeps a jack planted while a car is on it. Industrial swivel casters on precision bearings move it around the shop, and the two-piece handle separates for storage.
Perfect For
- Independent workshops running mixed vehicles, where one jack has to reach the lift points on a lowered import in the morning and a long-wheelbase sedan in the afternoon.
- Restoration shops, where the jack points on an older car are often deep, awkward and unforgiving of an angled lift.
- Performance and track work — the 2.75″ entry height is the number that gets it under a car with an aftermarket ride height.
- Serious home garages that want one jack to cover the whole driveway rather than a low-profile jack plus a longer one.
What's in the Box
The jack ships assembled with its two-section handle, which is the only part you fit before use. The description on file does not itemise anything else — no jack stands, no adapter pads, no fluid top-up — so plan to supply your own stands. Ask us if you need the packing list checked before you order.

Certification, stated honestly
The product data we hold for the RFJ-3000LPF makes no third-party safety-listing claim of any kind, and we are not going to imply one. If your insurer, your fleet policy or a local inspection regime requires lifting equipment to carry a specific independent listing, treat that as an open question and verify it against the manufacturer's documentation before you buy — ask us and we will put the request to Ranger in writing. And regardless of any listing: a floor jack is a lifting device, not a supporting one. Raise the vehicle, set rated stands, and lower onto them before any part of you goes underneath.
Shipping and delivery
Shipping is calculated live at checkout for your address, so you see the real cost before you commit rather than an estimate afterwards. Heavier items travel by freight carrier. A freight delivery is kerbside: you need to be able to take the item off the truck, or you can arrange to collect it from the carrier's local terminal instead, which is often the easier option for a shop with no dock. Delivery to a residential address carries an additional residential fee, applied once per brand on an order rather than per item. When the truck arrives, inspect the shipment before you sign — note any damage, however minor it looks, on the delivery paperwork at the time. A signed clean receipt makes a damage claim very difficult to pursue afterwards. We ship within the contiguous United States.
Warranty
Ranger publishes a single warranty document covering its product line, and we hold a copy for this model; we have deliberately not printed a term here because the data we hold does not state one, and a warranty length invented for a product page is worse than no figure at all. Ask us and we will send you the current document before you order. One thing that applies under any warranty: if the jack develops a fault, do not disassemble the cylinder, the pump or the release valve before you contact us. Opening a sealed hydraulic assembly is normally enough on its own to end a claim, and a fault we can see intact is a fault we can get resolved.
