Ranger RCD-1500EX 1,500 lb. Capacity GoCart™ Jumbo Car Dollies

RCD-1500EX: The GoCart Sized for a 37 in. Tire

The EX in this model name is a tire envelope, not a trim level. The RCD-1500EX accepts tire diameters from 19 in. (483 mm) all the way up to 37 in. (940 mm), with a tire width capacity of 13 in. (330 mm). That upper figure is the whole reason this version exists: a lifted pickup, a UTV on aggressive tires, an off-road build sitting on 35s or bigger will simply not sit down into a standard car dolly, and no amount of load rating fixes a frame the tire will not fit into.

Load rating still matters, of course — each dolly carries 1,500 lbs (680 kg), so four of them handle a vehicle of up to 6,000 lbs. But capacity is the easy question. Fit is the one that sends dollies back, and it is the one this model answers.

Will It Fit Your Vehicle and Your Floor?

Start with a tape measure at the tire, not at the spec sheet. Measure the overall diameter of the fitted tire, standing, and its section width across the widest point of the tread. Those two numbers need to land inside 19 in. to 37 in. and up to 13 in. respectively. A tire under the lower limit is as much of a problem as one over the top: below 19 in. there is not enough rolling surface for the frame to cradle properly.

Then look at the floor. With the dollies stowed the footprint is 25 in. x 26 in. (635 mm x 660 mm) each, which stacks tidily against a wall. In use, the casters + frame height is 6 in. (152 mm) and the casters themselves are 4 in. (102 mm) in diameter — a big caster for a dolly, and the reason these roll over an expansion joint that stops a small wheel dead. Even so, a vehicle on four dollies has no brakes and no steering, so a level, hard, swept floor is not a nicety. Confirming that your surface is sound and level is the buyer's responsibility, and it is worth ten minutes before the truck ever leaves the ground.

One more piece of honest advice for the lifted-truck crowd specifically: a tall vehicle sitting on dollies has a higher centre of gravity than the same vehicle on its tires, because the dollies raise it further. Push it slowly, push it low, and never push it across a slope.

The Hydraulic Foot Pump Is What Makes This Work Alone

Each dolly lifts on a hydraulic foot pump. Both hands stay free and your back stays out of it: you position the frame against the tire, stand up, and pump with a foot until the wheel is off the floor. Compare that with lever-type dollies that ask you to bend over a heavy truck tire and heave, and the difference is not comfort — it is whether one technician can do the job at all.

Once the wheel is up, a locking pin holds the height and a hook latch keeps the frame closed around the tire. Two independent mechanisms, deliberately: on a vehicle this heavy, redundancy on the thing that holds the load is the difference between a slow leak being an annoyance and being an incident.

Telescoping Frame, Sized for Big Rubber

The frame telescopes outward and the arms close around the tire to capture it. That adjustment is what lets one design handle everything from a small passenger tire at the bottom of the range to genuine off-road rubber at the top — the arms simply take up the extra span.

The build is steel tubing with weld reinforcement at the stress junctions, which are the corners where a frame carrying an unevenly distributed truck fatigues first. The hydraulic cylinder is built for repeated cycles with internal sealing against the oil, solvent and grit that live on a shop floor, and the rollers are chosen to grip a tire firmly without chewing the tread or wearing out early.

Floor Manners

The contact surfaces and roller material are picked to be non-marking and to spread the load across a wide footprint rather than concentrating it. That matters more than it sounds on an epoxy-coated or freshly painted shop floor, where a point load under a heavy truck leaves a permanent dimple. Because each wheel becomes a caster in its own right, the vehicle can be pushed forward, backward, sideways or rotated on the spot — useful when the goal is to get a wide-body truck flush against a wall and win back a bay.

Perfect For

  • Off-road and truck build shops where lifted vehicles on oversized tires are the normal customer.
  • Powersports and UTV dealers moving machines on tall knobby tires around a crowded floor.
  • Storage facilities and collector garages parking large vehicles closer together than driving allows.
  • Body and restoration shops repositioning non-runners without a tow strap or a winch.
  • Serious home garages where the truck is the reason the garage only fits one vehicle.

What's in the Box

The manufacturer's data for this model does not publish a packing list, and it quotes load capacity both per dolly and across a set of four, which is not the same thing as stating how many dollies come in a purchase. The published shipping weight of 50 lbs (25 kg) and shipping dimensions of 28 in. x 26 in. x 9 in. (711 mm x 660 mm x 228 mm) are worth reading in that light before you assume a quantity either way.

Rather than guess on your behalf, ask us. We will confirm exactly what ships against current stock before you order — because a vehicle needs a dolly at every corner, and finding that out after delivery helps nobody.

Certification, Stated Honestly

Ranger claims no third-party safety listing for this product in the data we hold, and we are not going to imply one. Worth saying plainly: some insurers, fleet safety policies and local inspections require independently listed equipment for anything that supports a vehicle, and a wheel dolly is normally classed as a moving aid rather than as vehicle support in the first place. If a written standard applies to your operation, check its wording before buying — and whatever it says, use proper stands or a lift for any work carried out under a vehicle. Nobody goes under a car on dollies.

Shipping and Delivery

Shipped within the lower 48 states, with the rate quoted live at checkout for your destination. Heavier orders in this category move as freight, which means you or someone at the delivery address must be able to receive and unload the shipment, or arrange terminal pickup from the carrier instead. Residential deliveries carry an additional fee, shown before you pay. Warehouse pickup is available at our published pickup locations.

Look the shipment over before you sign. Any crushed carton, shifted pallet or visible damage goes on the bill of lading at the moment of delivery — once a clean bill is signed, a freight claim becomes far harder to pursue, and a bent dolly frame is not something to straighten and load a truck onto.

Warranty

Ranger publishes its warranty for this product as a downloadable document, and that document — not a summary written by a retailer — governs the coverage, so no term is quoted here. Download it from the product page and read the exclusions if warranty length is part of your decision.

If you need to claim, do not disassemble the frame or open the hydraulic cylinder first. Taking a unit apart to diagnose it yourself is the most common reason a legitimate claim is denied. Photograph the problem as it is, keep the packaging if the damage looks like transit damage, and contact us before anything comes apart.
