This is the 230V member of a family that is otherwise identical. Same 7.5 HP QT Pro pump, same 80-gallon horizontal receiver, same 22.6 CFM at 175 PSI, same 100% duty cycle — and a motor wound for 230V 3-Phase supply and nothing else. That last point is the reason this page exists separately from its siblings, and it is the one buyers get wrong.
An industrial motor is not multi-voltage. There is no switch, no link block you can move on a whim and no adapter. If the nameplate voltage does not match the supply at your wall, the machine either will not start, will run hot and trip, or will quietly cook its windings. Measure what you actually have — or better, have your electrician measure it — before you choose which of these to buy. Getting it wrong is not covered by anybody's warranty.
Read this before ordering
Is the tank horizontal or vertical? Published descriptions differ: the model code, the orientation field and the dimensions on this page — roughly 70" long by 23" wide by 47" tall — describe a horizontal receiver lying on its side, while a sentence in the older description called the tank vertical. Tank shape decides whether the machine fits where you want it, so ask us before you commit and we will confirm it with Quincy in writing.
Automatic drain, low-oil cut-out. Published details differ here too: the previous copy described a condensate release system and an oil-level sensor that halts the motor, while the specification record says neither is fitted. Plan on draining the receiver yourself and checking the oil on the sight glass, and ask us if you want an automatic drain quoted alongside the compressor.

Choosing the right voltage
Three-phase supply comes into buildings at more than one voltage, and the difference is not cosmetic. Older commercial buildings and many small industrial units run one figure; newer or larger plant runs another. The 230V machine on this page suits a shop whose three-phase service is at that level, which in practice is a very large share of independent workshops in older premises.
What to check before you order, in this order: the voltage measured phase-to-phase at your panel; whether the panel has spare capacity for another motor of this size; and what your electrician says the circuit and overcurrent protection need to be. Quincy publishes no breaker figure for this model — its own sheet says to consult a certified electrician — and neither we nor anyone else can size that circuit remotely. A magnetic starter is supplied with the machine, so that is one component you are not buying twice.
Two stages, an intercooler, and a slow-turning pump
The pump takes atmospheric air into a large cylinder, pushes it through a finned intercooler where it dumps the heat that compression just created, then feeds the cooled, denser charge into a small cylinder that takes it to 175 PSI. Doing it in two bites with a cooling step between them is why a two-stage machine reaches that pressure efficiently, and why it does not get progressively hotter and less capable the longer it runs.
The hardware is deliberately old-fashioned. Two cast iron cylinders under an aluminum head. A heavy, balanced cast iron flywheel that both damps the pulses and fans air across the pump. A belt drive, so the pump turns well below motor speed. Splash lubrication in a cast iron crankcase. None of it is clever; all of it is why the QT pump is rated for a service life measured in tens of thousands of hours.
Will it fit?
Allow the 70" by 23" strip plus walking room and space to pull the belt guard. Height is about 47", so it lives under shelving and under a mezzanine — the reason to choose the horizontal version over the vertical one. It weighs around 740 lbs and wants flat, sound concrete. Do not enclose it: a compressor in a sealed cupboard runs hot, and heat is what kills valves and oil. The tank outlet is 3/4", so plan the drop and the reel from there.

Certification, stated plainly
Quincy lists ASME for the pressure vessel and UL and CSA for the electrical components of this unit. A tank code stamp and an electrical safety mark answer different questions, and neither answers the question your local inspector or your insurer may ask about a receiver of this size in your building. If a specific listing or filing is a condition of your cover, check it against the machine's data plate first. We will supply what the manufacturer publishes so you can put it in front of whoever needs to see it.
Warranty
A 1-year factory warranty applies, extending to a 3-year "No Bull" warranty through Quincy's own programme. The extension carries conditions set by Quincy, including registration of the unit; we will confirm precisely what this model requires in writing before you order, because the conditions are the part people find out about too late. And whatever the fault, leave the pump assembled until the claim has been agreed.
Freight and delivery
Around 740 lbs on a pallet. It ships by freight on a pallet inside the lower 48 states. Have a forklift or a pallet jack ready at the delivery address, or choose terminal pickup and collect it on a trailer — plenty of buyers do, and it is often the easier option for a small shop. Residential delivery carries a residential fee. Freight is quoted live at checkout so the number you see is today's number.
Inspect before you sign. Look over the tank, the belt guard, the motor and the pallet itself, and write any damage on the bill of lading while the driver is still there. Signing a clean receipt and finding a dent afterwards makes a carrier claim very hard to pursue.
