Description
-MAHLE ACX2150 ArcticPRO® R134a Refrigerant Handling System
The ACX2150 is the way into the ArcticPRO 2000 series for a shop that services R134a vehicles: fully automatic recovery, recycling, evacuation and charging, on the same chassis and the same touchscreen as the machines above it. What makes it the sensible choice rather than merely the cheaper one is that the two features shops most often add later are already inside it — on-board oil injection and integrated UV dye injection.
That is not a marketing distinction. Both of those jobs can be done by hand with a bottle and a coupler, and both of them get skipped when a bay is busy. A machine that weighs the oil it recovered and puts the right amount back as part of the cycle, and that injects dye without anyone breaking the sequence to fetch anything, does them on the jobs where nobody would have bothered. The value shows up months later, in compressors that did not fail and in leaks that were found on the second visit instead of the fifth.
Will It Fit Your Bay?
It is a mobile cart, so the questions are floor, socket and temperature — not ceiling height or concrete.
- Overall size. 47" H x 29" W x 29" D (119 cm x 74 cm x 74 cm), with clearance needed at the front for the hinged service door.
- Weight. 215 lb. (98 kg) on casters. Level, swept concrete; not a ramp and not gravel.
- Electrical supply. One standard single-phase outlet — 120 VAC - 60 HZ - 12 AMP.
- Hose reach. 9 ft. (2.75 m), which sets your parking distance from the vehicle.
- Ambient range. 50° - 122°F (10°-50°C). A bay that drops below that overnight in winter, or climbs above it under a summer roof, is worth checking before the machine is on a truck.
Confirming the outlet, the aisle and the working temperature of the space is the buyer's responsibility. We will talk any of it through before you order — we simply cannot measure your building from here.
Oil, Weighed and Returned
The unit weighs recovered oil automatically and injects the replacement on board, so the amount going back matches the amount that came out. Both directions of that error are expensive and neither is obvious at the time. Short the compressor of oil and it fails months later, looking for all the world like a component defect. Overfill it and the system simply cools badly, and the next technician spends an afternoon chasing a fault that was created at the service. A measured number ends that conversation before it starts.
Dye In, Leak Found
Integrated UV dye injection puts a tracer into the system as part of the automated cycle. Most A/C leaks are too slow to find on the day — the system takes a charge, cools properly, and is flat again by the end of the season. Dye injected at the service means the return visit starts with a lamp and finishes in minutes, rather than starting with nitrogen, soap and a guess. For a shop selling A/C work, it also turns an awkward second visit into a straightforward one.
What the Numbers Say
Charge performance is stated at +/- 0.5 oz. at 70° to 75°F (+/- 15g at 21° to 24°C). Recovery is stated at 95% at 70° to 75°F (21° to 24°C) within 30 minutes. Both are quoted at a defined bench temperature — a refrigerant figure with no stated conditions is not a figure at all. Doing the work are a 3/8 HP recovery compressor, a 2 CFM dual stage vacuum pump, a 30 lb. (13.6 kg) DOT charging cylinder, and a spin-on filter-drier rated for 150 lb. (68kg) of throughput before it needs replacing.
The Screen, and What Sits Behind It
A colour 7" capacitive touch screen runs the machine, and an LED status light shows its state from anywhere in the workshop — so a technician who started a cycle and moved to another vehicle can see it has finished without walking back. Wireless software updates arrive permanently, so vehicle coverage does not go stale. MAHLE can connect over WiFi to troubleshoot and provide advanced support, which converts a fair number of service calls into phone calls. Services are logged and monitored, giving refrigerant-use figures, proactive service reminders and warranty reporting off the machine, and network printing produces a record for the customer.
On this model, the thermal printer, the refrigerant identifier and the iOS and Android phone app are all listed as options rather than standard fitment. If you want a particular combination, tell us before you order rather than after.
Routine maintenance goes through the hinged front service door, so a filter change does not begin by hauling the cart into the aisle.
Perfect For
- Independent workshops replacing a manual manifold-and-scale setup with a machine that does the whole cycle.
- Smaller shops that want ArcticPRO reliability and the touchscreen interface without paying for capability they will not use.
- Second machines in an existing A/C bay, so a busy summer is not bottlenecked on one cart.
- Fleet workshops running older R134a vehicles where the work is steady and predictable.

Standards, Stated Honestly
The specification table records the refrigerant-handling performance standards and the electrical-safety standard the unit is built to. Those describe the machine and nothing beyond it: how closely it charges, how much of a charge it recovers, and how safely it is constructed. They are not an operating approval for your business, and they have nothing to say about what your insurer, your fleet policy or your local jurisdiction may separately require of refrigerant equipment or of the technician using it. Refrigerant work in the United States also carries federal technician-certification obligations that sit outside the machine's own paperwork entirely. If a named approval is a condition of your insurance or your licence, get that requirement in writing and read it against the specification before you buy — we will go through it with you.
Shipping and Delivery
This ships freight, to the lower 48 states, with the rate quoted live at checkout for your own address. We do not print a shipping figure on the page because freight pricing moves and a stale number turns into a dispute. The machine arrives palletised, so you need a way to receive it: a forklift, enough hands at the door, or a terminal pickup arranged with the carrier. A residential delivery address carries a residential fee, which the checkout shows before you commit.
Inspect the pallet before the driver leaves. Photograph any crushed corner, torn wrap or damaged panel and write it onto the bill of lading in the driver's presence. A signature with nothing noted is the carrier's evidence the unit arrived intact, and reversing that afterwards is very hard.
Warranty and Support
A two year standard warranty is listed for this machine, alongside nationwide service centres and lifetime phone support coverage. These units are built to be repaired by their owner rather than swapped out, which is a genuine cost difference across the life of the tool.
One rule for any claim: do not take the machine apart first. Opening the refrigerant circuit or removing a suspect component before an authorisation is issued will normally end the claim, however confident the diagnosis. Phone it in, get the instruction, then follow it.
