iDEAL UF-2500EH-X-BLK: a 2,500 lb lift that takes up a strip of floor, not a bay

Floor area is the thing most workshops run out of first. A platform lift big enough for a side-by-side claims a rectangle the size of the machine plus the room to walk round it, and that rectangle is gone whether or not anything is on it. The UF-2500EH-X-BLK is 24.8" wide. It sits under the machine rather than around it, which means the space beside the vehicle stays yours to work in — and its controls do not have to be in that space either, because the pedestal stand can be positioned up to 96" away from the platform.

What it gives up in deck area it hands back in access. This is a wheels-free frame lift: it carries 2,500 lbs (1,134 kg) on four rubber pads under the chassis, from a 4.75" (121 mm) start height up to 43" — 49" with the rubber lift pads, listed as 49.25" with the adaptor on the specification sheet.

The footprint, in numbers you can measure against your floor

Portable or mounted, and a place to put things

The pedestal control stand is designed for either arrangement. Mounted suits a bay where the lift lives permanently and the controls should always be in the same place; portable suits a shop where the lift is wheeled to wherever the machine happens to be, and the 96" reach means you are not tethered to standing next to it.

The power unit cover with storage bin is a small thing that stops being small after a month. The hydraulics are protected from workshop debris, and the four rubber pads, the adaptors and whatever straps you use have somewhere to be that is not the floor or the back of a bench. Lifts lose their accessories; this one has a place for them.

Lifting by the frame

The machine is supported on four rubber contact lift pads, 4.75" x 6.5" each, placed under the chassis so the wheels are left hanging clear. That is what makes wheel, hub, brake, axle and suspension work possible at all — on a platform lift the machine's own tyres are carrying it and the suspension is loaded.

It holds at three locking positions — 28", 36.5" and full height — on mechanical locks rather than on hydraulic pressure, which is the property that matters when your arms are underneath it. A full lift or descent takes about 25 seconds from a fully operational control panel, and the locks are freed by an electro-magnetic release rather than a hand lever.

Built to be stood on and worked around

The platform and its extensions are heavy-duty diamond plate, and the extensions are hinged and load-bearing — they carry weight rather than simply folding out of the way, which is what allows the working length to change between a compact ATV and a full-size side-by-side without a second lift. An optional wheel stand kit is offered for the UF-2500EH-X-BLK; if you are buying a frame lift specifically to take wheels off, somewhere to stack them is worth ordering at the same time.

Certification, stated plainly

We hold no record of an independent third-party safety listing for the UF-2500EH-X-BLK, and we would rather tell you that than let the omission pass unnoticed. It is a real distinction: a manufacturer asserting that its own machine meets a standard is not the same document as an independent North American lift safety listing carried out by an outside body, and there are insurers, fleet policies and local inspectors who recognise only the latter. Work out whether any of those govern your shop, and ask us to confirm what this model holds before you order.

Shipping and delivery

This lift travels as freight within the lower 48, with the cost calculated live at checkout so it reflects today's rates. Arrange the unload before it ships — it comes crated and it is beyond hand-lifting, so you want a forklift or a pallet truck and a dock at the receiving end, or a terminal collection with a trailer if the delivery address has no equipment. Homes are charged a residential fee for delivery, so tell us up front if that is where it is going. On arrival, look the crate over for crush marks and punctures, confirm the count, and note anything at all on the bill of lading before signing. That written note is what a damage claim is built on.

Warranty

The manufacturer's warranty covers this lift; the terms in force are on our warranty claims page, and that is deliberately the only place we quote them, because a term length typed into a product description ages badly and gets copied everywhere.
