-iDEAL BCA-3000: three sets of adapters in the box, and a deck that sets its own working height
Most body carts are a frame with casters, and you hold the shell however you can. The BCA-3000 arrives with three different mounting systems — four straddle adapters, two leaf spring adapters and two boltdown adapters — so the same cart carries a unibody shell today, a pickup box next week and a frame section after that, without anyone welding a bracket in the corner of the shop.
The second thing that separates it from a fixed cart is the height: 28" to 38", adjustable. That range is not about clearance, it is about where the panel sits relative to you. Width adjusts up to 60" and length up to 132", and the whole thing is rated at 3,000 lbs on 8" x 2" HD poly casters.
Will It Fit?
- The body you are carrying. Adjustable up to 60" wide and up to 132" long. Measure the shell or section, not the vehicle's overall length — you are supporting structure, not bodywork overhang.
- Working height. 28" to 38". The low end suits roof and upper-panel work; the high end brings sills and floor pans up to where you are not kneeling. Set it before you load, not after.
- Load. Rated 3,000 lbs. Weigh the assumption rather than guessing: a bare unibody shell is well within it, a shell with running gear still attached is a different question.
- Floor and route. 8" x 2" poly casters clear normal shop debris and expansion joints better than small hard wheels, but they still need a reasonable surface. Check the doorways on the route you will actually push it through.
- Delivery. 289 lbs shipped.
Assessing your load, your floor and your route is the customer's responsibility. Describe the job to us before you order and we will tell you whether this is the right cart for it.
Why three adapter types instead of one
Each adapter set answers a different structure. Straddle adapters, supplied as a set of four, take a body over a sill or rocker so the load is spread across the strongest part of a unibody. Leaf spring adapters, a set of two, pick up on the spring mounts of a body-on-frame vehicle, which is where that structure is designed to be supported. Boltdown adapters, also a set of two, fix the body to the cart where movement is unacceptable — a shell that is going to be rotated, blasted or moved a long way across a site. A cart with one mounting method makes you improvise for the other two, and improvised support is where a shell gets tweaked.
Adjustable in three directions, and why that is the whole product
Width, height and length all adjust, which is what makes the "universal design" phrase in the feature list mean something specific. In practice it means one cart in the corner of the shop instead of three, and it means the cart still fits the next job, which is not a vehicle you have seen yet. It also means the setup step is real: a cart adjusted to the wrong width supports a shell at the wrong points regardless of its rating.
Casters, and the powder coat
8" x 2" HD poly casters are large for a cart, and the reason is the loaded roll. A small wheel stops at every joint, cable and dropped bolt; a large-diameter poly wheel rolls over them and does not flat-spot when a load stands on it for a month. The powder-coat finish is there because these carts spend their lives near blasting media, solvent, primer overspray and damp shells — a painted frame in that environment starts rusting where it is chipped, and a rusty cart marks the panels it carries.
Perfect For
- Restoration shops running frame-off projects where the body has to leave the chassis and stay somewhere for months.
- Collision repair moving shells and sections between the bay, the booth and storage.
- Custom and hot rod builders handling a mix of unibody and body-on-frame vehicles.
- Serious home restorers with the floor space for one properly adjustable cart rather than a set of stands.

On ratings and listings, stated plainly
The published data for this cart claims no independent third-party listing, and it is worth saying clearly what the 3,000 lbs figure is and is not: it is a carrying rating for a body supported correctly on the supplied adapters. It is not a lifting device rating, and a body cart is not a vehicle support stand — nobody should be under a shell that is only on a cart. If your insurer or a workplace standard has requirements for how bodies are supported in your shop, confirm them before you order.
Shipping and delivery
Freight is quoted live at checkout for the lower 48 states. At 289 lbs this travels crated on a freight carrier, which means you need a way to take it off the truck or you elect collection at the carrier's terminal; a residential address carries a residential fee, applied once; and the crate must be checked before you sign for it. Damage goes on the delivery receipt at the kerb, in writing, while the driver is still there.
Warranty
We publish the iDEAL claims route rather than a term of our own, and we will confirm the current warranty in writing before you order if you ask. If something fails, report it before you repair it. A bent adapter or a failed caster tells a warranty department how it was loaded; the same part cut off, welded or replaced tells them nothing, and that usually ends the claim.
