Reading the span figure properly

The reason the range exists at all is that four-post lifts are not built to a common runway spacing - a lift specified for narrow-track cars and one specified for dual-rear-wheel pickups put their runways in different places, and an accessory that only fitted one of them would be an accessory almost nobody could use.

Why the jack earns its place on a four-post lift

A four-post lift holds a vehicle by its tyres. That is excellent for storage, inspection, exhaust work and anything under the middle of the car - and useless the moment a wheel has to come off. Without a jack on the lift, wheels-off work on a four-post means crawling under a raised vehicle with a bottle jack and finding a jacking point by feel.

The RJ9S removes that step. It travels along the lift's accessory rails to whichever axle you want, lifts from a proper cradle with adapters that reach the vehicle's designed pick-up points, and puts the wheels in the air while the vehicle stays on the lift. The RJ9S requires two-hand operation to lift. Both hands occupied means neither hand is under a load that is moving, and it also means the operator is standing in one predictable place while the vehicle rises. That is not a convenience feature that got in the way of itself - it is the specific control design that prevents the specific accident where somebody steadies a pad with one hand while raising with the other.

Low profile, so it stays on the lift

Adjustable heights and a low-profile build keep the jack out of the way when it is idle. That sounds cosmetic and is not: an accessory that fouls the drive-on path gets clipped by tyres, gets in the way of every vehicle that uses the lift, and ends up unbolted and parked in a corner. A forklift or dock is the easy answer; terminal pickup is the other, and warehouse collection is available too. Residential delivery is offered for a fee.
