CEMB ER90 EVO Fully Automatic Wheel Balancer

Automatic Wheel Balancer - The new immediate no contact balancing machine without need of check-spin. The new ER90 EVO automatically detects wheel data simply pressing one single touchbutton and after a few seconds gives a clear and accurate indication of exact position to place counterweights (clip-on and/or stick-on weights)

It Diagnoses the Wheel, Not Just the Imbalance

The feature that separates the ER90 EVO from an ordinary shop balancer is a set of sonar and laser instruments that measure the shape of what is on the shaft, not only its weight distribution. That is a different job, and it is the job that solves the complaints a balance alone never fixes.

EMS Sonar measures wheel conicity and indicates side slip — the cause of a steady pull that survives a correct alignment and gets blamed on everything else. LA Sonar reads tread depth in three sections across the tire, which turns "the tires look a bit uneven" into a documented measurement in three numbers. The Touch function performs a full diagnosis on the rim by itself, measuring eccentricity in two planes, so a bent or out-of-round rim is identified as a rim problem rather than chased around the tire.

Hubmatch: Fixing Runout Without Selling a Tire

Hubmatch is a guided on-car eccentricity cancellation process, and it deserves more attention than a bullet point gives it. Runout in a wheel assembly is the sum of the rim's runout, the tire's, and how the two happen to be indexed against each other when they were mounted. Rotate one against the other into the right relative position and a large part of it cancels out.

Done by guesswork that is a twenty-minute experiment nobody has time for. Done as a guided procedure, it is a repeatable operation that frequently sends a customer home with a smooth car and the tires they arrived on. That is a better outcome for them and a considerably better conversation than a tire sale they suspect they did not need.

A Laser With Nothing to Break

Dimensional entry uses a 3D laser scan rather than a mechanical measuring arm. Two things follow. It reads dimensions faster and more accurately than an arm swung out by hand — and it has no moving parts at all, which on a machine that gets knocked by wheels all day is the durability argument that actually matters. A measuring arm is the component that bends, sticks and drifts out of calibration; there simply isn't one here.

A second laser at the twelve-o'clock position shows where clip-on weights go, and a laser spot indicates the placement point inside the rim for stick-ons. Both replace the judgement call that produces a weight two inches from where the calculation put it.

Clamping, Positioning and Correction

Wheel locking is pneumatic — a CEMB patent — which is quick to operate and centres the wheel accurately without depending on how firmly somebody tightened a cone. An electromagnetic brake then holds the wheel at the correct position for weight application instead of letting it creep back under its own weight.

Correction itself runs through One Plane Balancing, which the machine engages automatically whenever it calculates that a single counterweight inside the rim can cancel both the static and the dynamic component. AutoAdaptive mode sets the tolerance according to the wheel's own weight and dimensions, targeting the level at which vibration stops being perceptible at the steering wheel rather than a fixed threshold applied to every wheel regardless of what it is.

Will It Fit, and What Does It Need

Power is 220 V, single phase, plus compressed air for the pneumatic clamping. Check both against your bay before ordering — the 220 V line in particular is worth confirming rather than assuming, and it is the buyer's responsibility to have the supply and the air ready before delivery.

Capacity: maximum tire diameter 40″ (1016 mm), maximum rim diameter 30″ (765 mm), maximum rim width 20″ (510 mm), maximum wheel weight 165 lbs (75 kg). The machine ships at 485 lbs (220 kg). Leave clear floor in front of the shaft for the operator to lift an assembly on and off, and space for the wheel guard to swing up without meeting a shelf.

Perfect For

  • Shops that keep getting comeback vibrations and need conicity, eccentricity and tread-depth data to find out why.
  • Tire dealers running large-diameter and light-alloy fitments up to the capacities above.
  • Service departments handling ride-quality complaints where a documented measurement settles a warranty argument.
  • Shops that would rather match a wheel than sell a tire and want a guided procedure for doing it.

What's in the Box

The machine is supplied with pneumatic clamping and pneumatic wheel locking, the 3D laser scan, the side laser for clip-on weights, the electric brake positioning system, the wheel guard and the printer. EMS Sonar, LA Sonar, Touch rim diagnosis and Hubmatch are the diagnostic functions described above.

Certification, Stated Plainly

The material we hold on this machine does not state a third-party safety listing or an independent conformity assessment, and we are not going to imply one from the fact that parts of it are patented. A patent says somebody invented something; it says nothing about an outside body having examined the machine.

If you have to evidence independent assessment — to a shop insurer, to a fleet or public-sector purchasing office, or to a local inspector — get us the exact requirement before you order and we will put it to the manufacturer in writing rather than guess at the answer on a product page.

Shipping and Delivery

This machine ships by freight to the lower 48. The freight cost is quoted live at checkout against your delivery ZIP code, so what you see is the current rate for your address rather than a number copied out of an old table.

Decide before you order how the crate is coming off the truck. The driver brings the shipment to you; unloading it is the receiver's responsibility. Most shops take a machine of this weight off with a forklift. If you do not have one, choose terminal pickup instead and collect it with suitable equipment. Residential delivery is available and carries a residential fee, which is calculated at checkout when you select it.

Whichever you choose, inspect the crate before you sign anything. Walk the pallet, photograph crushed corners, punctures or a shifted load, and write the damage onto the bill of lading in words. A clean signature is a statement that the shipment arrived intact, and a concealed-damage claim is far harder to win afterwards. Call, text or chat with us if something looks wrong and we will open the claim alongside you.

Warranty

This machine carries the manufacturer's warranty. We have deliberately not restated its term or its covered components in this description, because the warranty document supplied with the machine is the governing text and it is the one any claim is settled against. Ask us and we will send you the current document before you order.

One practical warning that applies to every machine we sell: do not take a suspect component apart before a claim is open. Manufacturers routinely decline warranty on assemblies that have already been disassembled, because a stripped part can no longer be inspected for the cause of the failure. Photograph the fault, write down what the machine was doing when it happened, and call us first.
