Description
-CEMB C206: a truck and bus balancer that runs off a battery
Almost every wheel balancer in this catalogue assumes the wheel comes to the machine. The C206 assumes the opposite. It is a mobile hand-spin balancer that will run from 110 VAC when there is a socket and from 12VDC when there is not, using a standard lightweight battery pack — which means a truck wheel, a bus wheel or a car wheel can be balanced in a yard, at a roadside, or in a bay with no power run to it.
That single design decision drives everything else about the machine. It has to be light enough to move, simple enough to set up in the open, and accurate enough that nobody treats the mobile result as a rough one. It manages the third of those with a car mode that balances passenger wheels to under one gram.
What "mobile" is actually worth
For a commercial operator an unbalanced truck wheel is not a comfort problem — it is tire wear, driver fatigue and a vehicle off the road. The value of a balancer that travels is that the vehicle does not: the wheel gets balanced where the truck is standing. For a mobile tire service the calculation is simpler still, because the machine either goes in the van or the job does not exist. Hand spin is part of the same logic: there is no heavy drive motor to power, which is what makes battery running realistic rather than a specification-sheet claim.
Range: from a 13" car wheel to a super single
The machine is supplied with a three-compartment weight tray, six centring cones and two spacer plates, and CEMB's claim for that package is that it will balance 98% of all wheels — from 13" car wheels through to super single truck wheels. Rim diameter runs 10"–30" and rim width 1.5"–20", with a maximum wheel diameter of 1,300 mm (4.26 ft / 51") and a maximum wheel weight of 550 lbs (250 kg).
The cones and spacers are the part to watch. On a mobile machine the accessories are the capability: a wheel you cannot centre is a wheel you cannot balance, and there is no workshop cupboard to go back to when you are parked in a yard. Six cones and two spacers as standard is what makes the 98% claim mean something.
Car mode on a truck machine
Machines built for commercial wheels usually treat car wheels as an afterthought, and it shows in the resolution. The C206 has a dedicated car mode that balances passenger wheels to an accuracy of under one gram, and a car balancing speed of under 70 rpm. For a mobile operator that matters more than it looks: the same machine covers the fleet call in the morning and the passenger car in the afternoon without an apology for either.
The programs that save weight and time
Automatic distance and diameter entry — the machine's 2D measurement — removes the two dimensions most often keyed in wrong. Alongside that there is a static program plus four ALU programs for PAX, light alloy and specially shaped rims, an optimisation program that compensates for rim and tire imbalance together, a one-button split and hidden weight program, and a direct weight location program that means stick-on weights do not have to be repositioned after the spin.
The last of those is quietly the most useful in the field. Repositioning a weight means re-spinning, re-checking and often a second weight, and doing that on a hand-spin machine beside a truck in a yard is exactly the kind of avoidable extra work a mobile operator is trying to eliminate.
Keeping itself honest
Self-diagnosis and self-calibration are built in, and on a machine that travels that is not a luxury. A stationary balancer lives on a flat floor in a heated bay; a mobile one gets loaded, unloaded and set up on whatever surface is available, so a machine that checks its own calibration is one whose readings you can still trust after six months in a van. Menus switch the display between ounces and grams and between inches and millimetres.
Will it fit your van and your bay?
Power is 110 VAC or 12VDC, so plan for both: a socket where one exists, and a charged battery pack where one does not. The shipping crate is L44" x W44" x H44" and the gross shipping weight is 371 lbs — note that this is the crated weight, and the manufacturer's data does not publish the machine's own weight separately, so if the loaded weight in your vehicle is the deciding factor, ask us and we will get the figure rather than guess it for you. Providing power and a stable, level surface to work on is the customer's responsibility, and a level surface matters more on a mobile machine than on a bolted-down one.
Perfect for
- Mobile tire service operators — the machine this product exists for: it goes to the vehicle.
- Commercial fleets and transit yards — balance a wheel where the truck is parked instead of moving the truck.
- Agricultural and remote operations — battery operation covers sites where there is no convenient supply.
- Shops needing a second, movable balancer — car mode to under one gram means it is not just a truck-only machine.
What's in the box
The C206 is supplied fully assembled with the standard lightweight battery pack, a three-compartment weight tray, six centring cones and two spacer plates. The programs listed above — static, four ALU modes, optimisation, split and hidden weight, direct weight location, self-diagnosis and self-calibration — are all standard on the machine rather than options.

One specification we have deliberately left blank
The selectable imbalance threshold is stated in two places in the manufacturer's data, in two different unit systems, and the ounce values and the gram values do not correspond to each other. Rather than print a threshold figure that is provably wrong in one unit or the other, we have printed none. The feature exists — the machine lets you select the threshold at which it declares a wheel balanced — but if the exact settable values matter to your process, ask us and we will confirm them from the manual before you order.
Certification, stated plainly
We do not publish a third-party North American safety listing for this balancer, and we will not imply one. The manufacturer's data covers performance and dimensions; it does not include an independent listing, and a manufacturer's own declaration is not the same thing.
Insurers, corporate fleet policies and some local inspection authorities can require a named third-party listing before signing off an installation. If you buy under any of those, ask us to confirm what documentation ships with the machine before you order rather than after.
Shipping and delivery
Delivery is by freight carrier to the contiguous United States. We quote the freight live at checkout from your ZIP code instead of printing a price here, because rates move and a stale number becomes an argument. If the address is residential, a residential fee applies and the checkout will show it.
Plan the receiving end in advance. The crate comes off the trailer by forklift or at a dock and the driver is not equipped to do it for you; where that is a problem we can route the shipment to the carrier's local terminal. Inspect before you sign: damage noted on the bill of lading at delivery is a claim, damage found afterwards usually is not.
Warranty
The manufacturer publishes a warranty document for this machine and that document, not this page, sets the terms. We have kept a coverage period out of this description on purpose — two versions of a warranty is one too many. Request the current copy and read it before you order.
The warning worth repeating on everything we sell: if it fails, do not take it apart before you talk to us. Disassembly before a claim is assessed can void it outright.
