Atlas TTC305A Fully Automatic Truck Tire Changer

The TTC305A exists to take a specific set of movements away from the operator. The bead tool raises and lowers automatically, the carriage travels automatically to align that tool with the tire, and the chuck arm positions itself automatically — three axes that on a conventional truck changer are levered into place by hand, on every wheel, all day. Everything else about this machine follows from that decision, including the things it does not do as well as its bigger sibling.

The operator drives it from an ergonomic toggle control panel with foot pedals for chuck rotation, which means both hands stay on the work and the machine's direction is under your foot. There is an emergency stop on the panel that kills every function at once. This is the layout you want when the volume is high and the wheels are heavy, and the reason is fatigue rather than speed alone: the tenth 19.5 assembly of a shift is where people get hurt on a manual machine.

Two heads, swapped in seconds

The TTC305A ships with a standard mount/demount head and a fast roller head, and they interchange quickly. That is not a spare-parts detail, it is a workflow one. The mount/demount head is what you want on a stiff commercial casing that has to be levered over the flange; the roller head is far quicker on softer, more forgiving assemblies. A shop that has both fitted within a minute of each other stops choosing the wrong tool because changing it is a nuisance.

Clamping is by an electric/hydraulic self-centering four jaw chuck with five locking rim positions and 6,600 lbs of clamping power, on a single piece frame with a solid floor plate. The bead breaker develops 3,990 lbs of force.

Know the size envelope before you buy

This is where the TTC305A and the larger manual machines in the range genuinely differ, and it is the one thing to check honestly against your own work:

  • Rim clamping range: 13" - 26".
  • Minimum clamping size with the alloy adapters: 8".
  • Maximum tire diameter: 55".
  • Maximum tire width: 30 1/2" (2' 6 1/2").
  • Maximum wheel weight: 838 lbs on the chuck.

Read that as a clear statement of purpose. This machine is built for semi wheels, 19.5 assemblies, forklift tires and everything else that is simply too big for a passenger-car wheel clamp changer — and it is not built for tractor, skidder or large off-road rims, which live above 26". If oversized agricultural assemblies are part of your week, you want a bigger-clamping machine and we would rather tell you that now than sell you this one.

One number to confirm. The wheel-width figure printed on this listing's spec table is 30 1/2" (2' 6 1/2"), while one of the store's own product data fields carries 31". They are close, but they are not the same, and if you are working right at the limit that half inch is the difference between a job and a jam. Ask us and we will confirm the current factory figure before you order.

Will It Fit? Power, air and floor

The TTC305A runs on 220v, 1-phase, and it wants a 30 amp breaker. The hydraulic motor is 2 HP and the chuck motor is 3 HP, both specified at 220v (+/- 5%, 209-231 volts). That tolerance band deserves respect: a long, undersized run to the corner of a shop can sag below the bottom of it under starting load, and motors fed under spec run hot and fail early. Have the circuit installed properly and have the voltage measured at the machine, not at the panel.

Hydraulic operating pressure runs 0-1885 PSI. Acoustic pressure is rated below 70dBA, which is roughly conversation level and worth knowing if the changer is going near a waiting area.

Floor preparation and siting are the customer's responsibility. The machine is a single piece frame on a solid floor plate and ships at 1,490 lbs, so it wants flat, sound concrete and clear space around the chuck for a 55" tire to be handled safely. The installation manual linked on this page is the governing document for mounting and clearances — read it before you commit a spot on the floor.

Perfect For

  • High-production commercial tire shops — the automation pays for itself in throughput and in operators who are still effective at the end of a shift.
  • Fleet and municipal maintenance — box trucks, buses and 19.5 assemblies, repeatedly, by staff who are not full-time tire technicians.
  • Warehouse and materials-handling operations — forklift tires are heavy, awkward and exactly what the automatic chuck arm is for.
  • Any shop currently doing truck wheels with tire irons — that is the specific pain this machine was designed to remove.
  • Not for large agricultural or off-road rims above the 26" clamping limit.

Certification, stated plainly

The manufacturer data we hold for the TTC305A does not include any third-party safety or conformity listing, and we will not print a badge this page's paperwork does not support. That is a statement about our documentation, not a judgment on the machine.

It matters in specific situations. Some commercial insurers, most fleet and government purchasing rules and some workplace safety programs require independently listed equipment and will want the certificate itself rather than a marketing claim. If that describes your buying process, ask us before you order and we will request the current documentation from the manufacturer instead of guessing on your behalf.

Shipping and delivery

The TTC305A moves as freight inside the lower 48. Freight is calculated live at checkout for your actual destination, so the number you see is today's rate and not an estimate that has been sitting in a page for a year.

Sort the unload out first. At 1,490 lbs crated, this is a forklift job coming off the trailer. No forklift and no operator means terminal pickup, where you collect the crate with your own equipment. Residential delivery is available and carries a residential fee, so flag a home address at checkout and the shipment gets booked correctly first time.

Inspect it before you sign for it. Check the crate and every accessory carton against the packing list, and write damage, shortage or crushing onto the bill of lading while the driver is standing there. A clean signature is the carrier's record that everything arrived intact, and a claim opened afterwards is a much weaker position. Take photographs while the freight is still on the truck.

Warranty

The TTC305A carries a 1 Year parts only warranty. Parts only means the covered component is supplied; labor, freight and any lifting equipment needed to fit it are the owner's cost.

The rule that keeps a hydraulic claim alive: do not take a component apart before the claim has been approved. An opened pump, valve block or cylinder is usually treated as no longer inspectable, and a claim that would have been paid can be refused on that basis. Photograph the fault, write down what the machine was doing when it appeared, call us, and let the claim be opened first. Keep the commissioning record and evidence of the supply voltage — on motor and hydraulic failures those documents carry real weight.
