Description
-Ranger LS43B Wheel Balancer / 3D Quick-Touch™ Laser-Spot™ / 36 mm Shaft
The Ranger LS43B laser wheel balancer optimizes wheel weight placements with exclusive Laser-Spot™ technology. Laser lines clearly indicate outboard and inboard weight placements for incredible balances within hundredths of an ounce. Wheels that are laser-balanced drive like new!
A Laser Wheel Balancer for Supreme Speed and Amazing Accuracy
The Ranger LS43B laser wheel balancer handles wheels up to 43 inches in diameter. The average cycle time is just 7 seconds, making it one of the fastest floor-to-floor balancing machines ever built.

Planning on balancing truck and SUV tires? We highly recommend purchasing the Truck Cone Kit (5150555)
Ranger's revolutionary 3D Auto Data Entry system combines our exclusive DataWand™ and Quick-Touch Data Arm™, allowing you to automatically enter all wheel parameter settings in seconds flat. That gets you wheel diameter, wheel width, offset distance and targeted weight placement selections for exact balancing every time. Simply extend the built-in measuring wands and tap the wheel. That’s all it takes to achieve your desired wheel profile and wheel weight settings without having to manually input the data. Still, if you’re "old fashioned" and still like to enter data manually, go right ahead. It’s as easy to use the manual soft-touch control panel as it is to use the 3D Auto Data Entry system.
Laser-Spot Technology
Laser balancers are increasingly being used in high-volume shops because lasers eliminate second-guessing and speed up weight placements. This also means the balance check you perform after placing inboard and outboard weights will almost always be clean. The fewer weights you use, the better your bottom line. Plus, customers will enjoy long-lasting balances that make their rides feel like new again.
When ALU modes are selected and stick-on weights are desired, instinctive lasers mark the low-side of the wheel at the 6-o’-clock position, making stick-on weight placement and installation a breeze. When it’s time for clip-on weights, the intuitive data control automatically senses that topside weight positioning is desired and pinpoints the laser at precisely 12-o’-clock. Laser-Spot™ weight-positioning lasers provide greater weight placement accuracy and help reduce mistakes. More single-spin balances and fewer customer comebacks will increase productivity and profits. It’s that easy.
A Laser Wheel Balancer for Supreme Speed and Amazing Accuracy
This balancer features Ranger's exclusive 3D Auto Data Entry technology, so you never have to manually input wheel parameters again. It takes most techs an average of three seconds to retrieve the wheel diameter, wheel width and offset distance from this balancer. Our extendable DataWand™ automatically retrieves all outer-wheel information, while the inner data set arm detects the offset distance between the machine and your tire-and-wheel configuration.

The brake is the feature: how the LS43B makes weight placement hands-free
Most wheel balancers stop spinning and then ask the operator to do two things at once — hold the wheel still at the right angle with a foot pedal, and place a weight accurately with both hands. The LS43B removes that conflict entirely. A dual-plane automatic electromagnetic braking system slows the wheel, stops it, and then holds it in the correct position electronically. There is no pedal to stand on, which means the operator can move freely around the wheel and work on the inner and outer faces without losing the position.
What happens at the instant the brake engages is the part worth understanding. Two Laser-Spot lasers come on and mark exactly where the stick-on or clip-on weights are to be fastened, and a wide LED assist beam lights the work at the same moment. All three — lasers, light and brake hold — stay active until the stop button is pressed. So the wheel is held, the target is projected onto it, and the area is lit, before the technician has reached for a weight.
Why a held wheel and a projected target beat a display
A balancer that displays a weight value for the outer plane and an arrow has told you the magnitude and roughly the sector. The remaining accuracy is the operator's. A weight set a few degrees off the true position still reduces the imbalance, so the machine reports an improvement, the technician moves on, and the residual vibration turns up at highway speed a week later as a comeback that nobody can reproduce in the bay.
Projecting the position onto the rim closes that gap, and holding the wheel steady while it is projected closes the other half of it. When an alloy mode is selected and stick-on weights are called for, the laser marks the low side of the wheel at the 6 o'clock position, where a tape weight is easiest to press on cleanly. When clip-on weights are appropriate, the control recognises that topside placement is wanted and puts the laser at 12 o'clock. Tiered indicators handle the placements you cannot see from where you stand — split weights, and weights hidden behind a spoke.
The sensors underneath
Everything above depends on the machine knowing the truth about the imbalance in the first place. The LS43B measures with dual-component piezoelectric quartz load sensors alongside a digital rotation encoder, reading longitudinal, transversal and shear effects — three directions rather than one — so the unbalance force is characterised rather than estimated from a single axis. Quartz is used because it is stable: a high-rigidity crystal sensor does not fatigue and drift the way a strain-gauge element eventually does, which is what keeps a balancer accurate in year five as well as year one.
Behind the sensors sits a digital signal processor on single-chip architecture, and the practical result is speed with precision rather than one at the expense of the other. Balancing runs at a low 180 RPM — gentler on the shaft, quieter in the bay and safer around a heavy assembly — with an average cycle of about seven seconds floor to floor. Static, dynamic and the three alloy programmes are retrieved simultaneously after a single spin, so the operator picks the appropriate mode from results the machine has already computed instead of choosing a mode and spinning again.
Setup, and the part that costs you time
Mounting is where minutes disappear on a balancer. A self-centring, non-marring quick-nut and bell adapter set gets the wheel true on the shaft without fighting it, and a quick-release hub nut takes the tedium out of the last turns. Cones are supplied as a package rather than as an upsell: three automotive and light-truck cones covering 1.75" - 2.75", 2.75" - 3.50" and 3.50" - 4.25", plus one truck cone at 4.50" - 5.00". A rear cone mount spring and a no-mar pressure cup complete the set. If truck and SUV work is a regular part of your day, ask us about the additional truck cone kit before you order.
An open-top side shelf takes a full bulk roll of adhesive tape weights, and a wheel weight starter kit is included with the machine: a roll of silver adhesive steel tape weights, a roll of black ones and a starter box of mixed clip-on steel weights. It is enough to start balancing the day the machine is commissioned rather than the day the weight order arrives.
Will it fit, and what it will take
Wheel diameter capacity is 10" - 30" (254 mm - 762 mm) and wheel width capacity 2" - 18" (51 mm - 457 mm). Maximum tire weight is 145 lbs. (65 kg) — check that against the heaviest assembly you handle routinely, not the heaviest you have ever seen. The machine crates at 412 lbs. (187 kg), so unloading needs a forklift or a dock rather than willing hands. Allow clearance above the machine for the hood to rise fully; a balancer whose guard cannot open is a balancer that will not start.

Two figures to confirm before you order
Published figures for the LS43B differ in two places. The shaft diameter appears one way in the product title and a different way in the feature list. The maximum wheel or tire diameter the machine will take is given as one figure in the descriptive copy and a larger one in the specification fields. Both differences are present in the manufacturer's own data as supplied to us, and each source is quoted on this page rather than one being picked for you. If either figure is decisive for you — a shaft size has to match your adapters, and a maximum diameter has to cover your largest routine fitment — message us before ordering and we will confirm both against the current factory specification sheet.
Certification and compliance, stated honestly
The product data we hold for the LS43B claims no third-party safety listing, and we will not imply one. Some insurers, fleet policies and local jurisdictions require shop equipment carrying an independent test-house listing — a document issued by an outside laboratory rather than a manufacturer's own declaration of conformity. Check what your paperwork actually requires before ordering, and ask us if you want help matching that wording to a machine.
Shipping and delivery
This balancer ships as freight within the lower 48 states. Unloading is arranged at the receiving end: a forklift, a dock with a pallet jack, or a collection from the carrier's terminal. Residential delivery is a different service from a commercial dock and carries a residential fee, quoted live at checkout. Inspect the crate before signing and record any damage on the bill of lading in the driver's presence — a clean signature makes a later claim very difficult.
Warranty
Coverage is per the manufacturer's published warranty document for this product, and we will send you the current version before you order if you ask. Do not open the shaft assembly or the sensor housing to chase a calibration complaint before a claim is raised. The self-calibration routine deals with ordinary drift, and dismantling a sealed measuring assembly both destroys the evidence a claim rests on and normally ends the coverage on it.
Multi-directional quartz piezoelectric load sensors
Dual-component piezoelectric quartz load sensors and digital rotation encoder measure longitudinal, transversal and shear effects for multi-directional force unbalance detection. The piezoelectric force sensors are the most sensiotive sensors we have ever made, offering superior stability and fatigue resistance for unlimited service life with your wheel balancer. The high-rigidity quartz crystal sensors offer high frequency detection in all three measured directions.
Quick and precise setup
A self-centering, non-marring Quick-Nut and bell adapter set ensures proper centering of the wheel and eliminates counterproductive setup errors. You'll mount wheels faster and easier, minimizing the risk of customer come-backs or costly wheel damage.

Mounting cone package
Included with every machine are both standard and heavy-duty mounting cones, as well as a full accessory tooling package. The LS43B laser balancer's tooling package includes our standard car and light truck cones, as well as a heavy-duty truck cone. This well-equipped package includes three automotive and light truck cones: 1.75” - 2.75”, 2.75” - 3.50” and 3.50” - 4.25”, as well as one truck cone 4.50” - 5.00”.
Tape weight feeder
An open-top side shelf accommodates a large roll of Ranger Quick-Peel™ adhesive tape weights. Included with your purchase is a complimentary wheel weight starter kit that fits directly into a built-in tape weight feeder. Additional weights are available for purchase at any time.

Automatic weight optimization
The LS43B laser wheel balancer features a computer interface with weight optimization technology that automatically calculates the minimum amount of weight needed to achieve optimal balance. Minimizing weight usage at your place of business is sure to add up to real savings over time and ultimately increase your bottom line.
User-friendly operation
An anti-reflective, touch-pad display panel features tire and wheel assembly graphics that help simplify the speedy entry of wheel data. The display panel efficiently guides techs through each balancing procedure. Operator function keys are labeled with simple, easy-to-read icons to help operators identify and command all balancing function
LED rolling wheel weight displays
Bright LED weight placement indicators show weight positions as the wheel is gently rolled to exact top-dead-center. Tiered weight placement indicators help identify out-of-sight weight placements, such as split-weight or hidden “behind-the-spoke” techniques. Indicators assist operators with clip-on and tape weight placement at precise locations for zero-on balancing.

Wheel weight starter kit
A free kit of wheel weights is included with every new LS43B laser wheel balancer. Each unit’s starter kit contains one bulk roll of 100 silver adhesive steel tape weights, one bulk roll of 100 black adhesive steel tape weights and one starter box of mixed clip-on steel weights. It’s our way of getting you off on the right foot. Additional Ranger wheel weights are available for purchase at any time.
