Katool KT-WL69: a hydraulic rim straightener that works the wheel through a full 360°
A bent rim is repaired by bending it back slowly and in the right place, not by hitting it. That is the whole design brief of the KT-WL69. The wheel is clamped in a powered fixture and rotated through a full 360° while hydraulic force is applied to the deformed section, so the technician can find the high spot, correct it, turn the wheel a few degrees and check again without ever unbolting it from the machine. On a hand-worked repair every re-check means re-mounting, and every re-mount loses the reference you were working to.
The second point is the nature of the force. Hydraulics push at a rate you control and hold pressure where you stop. That is what makes a controlled correction possible instead of an overcorrection you then have to chase back the other way, and it is why this machine handles aluminium as well as steel rims — soft metal punishes anything that arrives as an impact.
Will it fit your shop?
This is a bench-sized machine, not a bay-sized one, and that is deliberate. Check three things before you order; all three are the buyer's to confirm.

Floor footprint. 37.4 in long by 22.05 in wide by 35.43 in tall. It occupies about the same floor area as a small parts washer, so it can be added to a tire bay that is already full without giving up a lift.

Working radius. The footprint is not the space you need. The machine takes wheels up to 30 in in diameter, so allow clearance around the fixture for a wheel of that size to turn freely, plus room for the operator to stand at the point of correction.

Weight and floor. At 529.11 lb the machine is heavy for its size, and that is a feature — mass is what absorbs the reaction force instead of letting the machine walk across the floor while it works. It wants a level, sound slab and a plan for getting 529.11 lb into position on the day it arrives.
The size range, honestly stated
The fixture accepts rim sizes from 10 in to 22.5 in, and the machine will take an assembled wheel up to 30 in in overall diameter. That 10 in to 22.5 in range is the one that decides whether this machine earns its keep in your shop: it covers small passenger wheels through to the large-diameter alloys that arrive on modern SUVs and light trucks, which is where the expensive damage happens and where a customer is most likely to accept a repair rather than replace a wheel.
Quiet enough to run beside people working
The machine is rated at 75 dB in operation. A rim straightener is not a machine that runs for three minutes and stops — a careful correction takes as long as it takes, and a loud machine running for half an hour in a shared bay changes how everyone else works. 75 dB is conversation-level noise for the bay next door rather than something that empties it. It is also a consequence of the hydraulic design: there is no repeated impact to make noise in the first place.
The maintenance detail nobody prints on a brochure
Katool specifies the hydraulic oil for this machine by grade: AW-46, or AW-32 for colder climates. That is worth more than it looks. Hydraulic oil that is too thick for the ambient temperature makes a machine sluggish and imprecise in exactly the way that ruins a delicate correction, and running an unspecified oil is the usual first step towards a seal failure that is not a warranty matter. Beyond the oil, routine care is what you would expect: check the fluid level, inspect seals and hoses for weeping, keep the guide rails lubricated and clean, and recheck the measurement tooling against a known-true wheel from time to time so the machine is telling you the truth.

What we can and cannot tell you about approvals
The manufacturer's data for the KT-WL69 does not carry a third-party safety listing, and we are not going to imply one that does not exist. For a shop machine of this class that is unremarkable and it rarely affects anything. It can matter if your insurer, your landlord or a specific contract names a listing document for powered shop equipment, so if that applies to you, ask us before ordering and we will put the question to the manufacturer rather than guess on a web page.
One thing is worth saying about the work itself rather than the machine: wheel straightening is a judgement call, and no machine turns a cracked, corroded or previously welded rim into a safe one. The decision about whether a particular wheel should be repaired or scrapped belongs to the technician in front of it.
Shipping and delivery
The KT-WL69 travels by freight truck to addresses in the lower 48 states. Freight is quoted live at checkout against the address you enter, so what you see is a real carrier rate on the day rather than an estimate that has aged. At 529.11 lb this is not a shipment two people lift off a tailgate: unloading is the receiver's responsibility, so have a forklift, a dock, or a plan to collect from the carrier's local terminal, which is often the simpler option because the terminal already has the equipment. Delivery to a residential address carries a residential fee, added at checkout when you choose that option.
Check the pallet before signing. Look for shifted banding, crushed corners, impact marks on the frame and any sign of oil, and note whatever you find on the bill of lading with the driver present. Take photographs at the same time. Once you have signed clean, the carrier's position is that the machine arrived intact, and reversing that afterwards is difficult.
Warranty
Katool publishes a written warranty document covering this machine, and we can send you the current copy before you order if the terms matter to your decision. The standard caution for hydraulic equipment applies here too: if something fails, do not strip the pump, the cylinder or the valve block before a claim is open. A component that has been taken apart is normally treated as a modified component, and that is the fastest way to lose cover you were otherwise entitled to.
