The claim Hofmann makes for the GEODYNA 7600P is specific enough to check: Smart Sonar detects rim width automatically and the measuring run starts by itself the moment the wheel guard is fully lowered, which the manufacturer states delivers 30% time savings compared to manual input. That is the machine in one sentence. It is not the fully automatic tier — this is a manual and semi-automatic balancer — but it removes the two slowest moments in a balance cycle: keying in a width, and waiting for the operator to press start.
It is intended for tire shops, car dealerships and garages with medium to high service volume, with a touchscreen monitor and the easyWEIGHT pinpoint indicator for adhesive weight placement.
What the 30% actually buys you
Treat the figure as the manufacturer's claim rather than a measurement of your shop, because it depends on how your technicians work today. The mechanism, though, is not in dispute. Hand entry requires the operator to read a width, type it, then start the machine — three deliberate actions on every wheel, four times a job. Sonar collapses the first two and the guard interlock collapses the third.
There is a second benefit that never appears in a time study. A width read by the machine cannot be mistyped. A hand-entered dimension that is wrong by an inch produces a confident, precisely calculated, wrong weight recommendation, with nothing to tell the technician anything went astray — and the customer comes back with the vibration they paid to have removed.
VPM: a reading that does not drift with the building
The 7600 series uses the patented virtual plane measurement technique, which the manufacturer describes as insensitive to ambient conditions. That matters more in a real shop than it sounds on paper. A balancer sits in a building with a door that opens onto winter, a tire changer thumping a few feet away and a floor that is never perfectly dead. A system that computes correction planes rather than relying on a fixed physical sensing geometry is far less affected by any of it, so the machine that read a wheel correctly in October reads it the same way in February.
Power Clamp and easyWEIGHT
The electromechanical Power Clamp holds the wheel with a constant force every time. Clamping is part of the measurement chain, not just a way of keeping the wheel on the shaft — an assembly held slightly differently on a second run reads slightly differently — so a clamp that does not vary with who tightened it takes one variable out of the answer.
easyWEIGHT then puts a pinpoint of light exactly where the adhesive weight belongs. The technician places the weight by looking at a mark instead of measuring in from a spoke, which is both faster and, more to the point, repeatable between technicians of different experience.
The shaft, and the touchscreen
The shaft is 40 mm across and 225 mm long, so full-depth collets, flanges and quick plates fit rather than only shallow tooling. The interface is a flat-panel resistive touch display, and resistive is the correct choice for this environment: it responds to a gloved finger and to pressure from a hand that has tire lubricant on it, where a capacitive screen would not.
Will It Fit?
Power. 230 VAC, 1ph, 50/60 Hz. Single phase, but not a general-purpose outlet: a dedicated, correctly rated and properly grounded circuit at the machine's position is required and is the customer's responsibility, installed by a licensed electrician before the machine arrives.
Footprint — this is the compact one. The unit measures 54" x 34.5" x 72" (1,372 x 876 x 1829 mm) and weighs 253 lbs (115 kg) net. Both figures are smaller than its stablemates in this range, which makes the 7600P the sensible answer when the balancer has to go into a bay that already has a changer, an alignment rack or a lift competing for floor. Still leave working room in front for a technician and a wheel, and choose the machine's facing with the monitor's viewing angle in mind.

Note that manual entry reaches further than the semi-automatic scan on both rim diameter and rim width. Work above the semi-automatic range is still within the machine's capability — the dimensions are keyed instead of read.
One dimension we have printed to the half inch
The specification table gives this machine's depth to a decimal place while the product's spec fields round it up to the next whole inch. It is half an inch, and for most installations it will never matter. We have printed the table's figure because it is the more precise of the two and because the whole reason to choose this balancer is often that it fits somewhere the bigger machines do not. If your clearance is that tight, contact us and we will confirm against the factory drawing before you order.
Certification and compliance, honestly
The product data we hold for the GEODYNA 7600P records no independent third-party safety listing, and we will not imply one it does not claim. A manufacturer's own declaration of conformity is a different document from a listing issued by an accredited third-party body, and where a requirement names the second, the first does not meet it. If your insurer, a franchise standard or your local authority having jurisdiction requires a specific listing on shop equipment, find out which one and let us confirm this machine's documentation against it before you commit.

In every case, inspect the shipment before you sign: check for punctures, crushed corners, a load that has moved on the pallet and broken banding, and record what you find on the bill of lading at the time of delivery. Signing a clean bill of lading states that the machine arrived undamaged, and that is very hard to reverse later.
Warranty
Claims run through our published warranty claims process. We have not printed a term because the data we hold for this model does not state one, and a link to the real policy is worth more than a length we would be guessing at. One standing rule: do not disassemble a suspect component before opening a claim. Photograph the fault in place, record the serial number and contact us first — equipment that has already been taken apart is frequently outside the terms of a claim that would otherwise have been honoured.
