Description
-Choose your motor: this one is offered in air or electric
The Corghi A2024TI is a tilt-back rim-clamp tire changer for passenger and light-truck work, and it is the machine in this range that lets you decide how it is driven. It is available with either an air motor or an electric motor, and that choice is worth thinking about properly before you order, because it is not a preference — it changes what the machine needs from your building.
An air motor runs off the compressor you already have. For a bay with plenty of air and no convenient circuit at the position where the changer will live, that removes an electrician from the project entirely. It also means there is no electric motor in a corner of the shop that gets wet, which matters in tire bays that see a lot of water and slurry.
The electric version trades that for control. It ships with two forward speeds and one reverse on the table top, which is what you want when a stiff bead needs walking on and off rather than driving at a fixed rate. It also stops the changer competing with the rest of the shop on the air line at the busiest moment of the day.
Tell us which motor you want when you order. If you are unsure, tell us what air you have and where the machine is going and we will make a recommendation.
The head does not touch the rim
The A2024TI uses a mount/demount head designed not to contact the rim during operation, with pneumatic locking to hold it in position and a locking handle that secures the head away from the rim. Those are two protections doing the same job from different directions: the head is shaped to stay off the rim, and it is then locked so it cannot drift into it while the table turns.
The manufacturer states that the machine is designed for low-profile and ultra-high-performance tires, that it is run-flat certified by all major tire manufacturers, and that it is PAX capable with an accessory kit. Those are the manufacturer's claims rather than ours; if a specific run-flat or PAX application is the reason you are buying, ask us and we will get it confirmed for your exact tire before you commit.
Bead breaker, inflator and turntable
The bead breaker blade is designed to follow the bead into the inside rim contour rather than pushing flat against it, so the force goes where the bead actually sits. The cylinders behind it are rebuildable stainless steel, which is a genuine long-term point: a rebuildable cylinder is a seal kit and an afternoon, where a sealed unit is a replacement part and a machine standing idle until it arrives.
Inflation is built into the table, with jets in the jaws — a burst of air released through the clamping jaws seats a stubborn bead far more controllably than a hand-held inflator and a ratchet strap. The turntable is heavy-duty stainless steel, rotates in either direction, and its jaws carry interchangeable locking peaks.
Table-top rotation runs at 8.5 rpm, delivering 811 ft-lb of torque. Tire changing is a high-torque, low-speed job: sustained twist moves a bead, and a fast table under a stiff tire is harder to control.
Will it fit your bay?
Maximum overall dimensions are 73" H × 43" W × 70" D. As a tilt-back design the tower tips backwards to clear the wheel, so clearance behind the machine is what matters; it can sit closer to a side wall than a swing-arm changer of comparable capacity. Leave room in front for a wheel to be rolled in and laid down.
Two weights are published and they are not the same thing. The machine weighs 547 lbs. The shipping weight, crated, is 573 lbs — that is the figure to plan your unloading around, not the machine weight.
The machine needs a level, sound floor and compressed air at 130 psi, and the electric version needs a 110V single-phase (1ph) supply. One item to confirm with us: the supply frequency printed in the specification table for this model is not the standard North American mains frequency. We believe that is an error carried through the manufacturer's data rather than a description of the machine, but do not have an electrician run a circuit on the strength of it — check the electrical specification with us first.
Siting, the floor, the air feed and the electrical circuit are the customer's responsibility.
Clamping ranges, spelled out
- Internal rim clamping — 13" to 26" (up to 660 mm). The everyday mode for most modern wheels.
- External rim clamping — 10" to 24" (up to 610 mm), for rims that cannot be gripped from the inside.
- External with adapters — out to 26" (660 mm).
- Maximum wheel diameter — 40" (1016 mm), the whole assembly.
- Maximum wheel width — 14" (356 mm).
Check the clamping ranges against your own wheel population before the headline diameter. Clamping is what decides whether a wheel can be held at all.
Perfect for
- Tire stores and independent shops doing passenger and light-truck volume where alloy wheels are routine.
- Bays with air but no spare circuit — the air-motor option is the specific reason to choose this machine.
- Performance and UHP specialists working low-profile and run-flat tires.
- Dealerships answerable for the condition of customer wheels, where a head that stays off the rim is the point.
What's in the box
From the manufacturer's current feature list for this model: the machine with your chosen air or electric motor, the pneumatic-locking mount/demount head with its locking handle, the tilt-back tower, the built-in table inflator with jets in the jaws, the stainless steel turntable with interchangeable locking peaks, and the bead breaker. The PAX accessory kit is explicitly an accessory and is not included. We have not listed anything else — if you need a specific adaptor or protector set, ask us to confirm it in writing before ordering.

Certification and compliance, stated honestly
The run-flat approval described above is a tire-manufacturer approval, and it is the manufacturer's claim. It is a different thing from an independent shop-equipment safety listing, and we do not publish one of those for this machine. We are not going to blur the two. If an insurer, a corporate policy, a local jurisdiction or a customer contract requires your equipment to carry a specific third-party listing or meet a named standard, settle it before you order. Give us the exact wording and we will request documentation from the manufacturer in writing, and tell you honestly if it cannot be produced.
Shipping and delivery
This changer ships by freight within the contiguous United States. Freight is calculated live at checkout for your delivery address, so you see a current rate rather than an estimate baked into a page. Note the crated shipping weight above when you plan for it.
You need to be able to unload, or to collect from the carrier's terminal. The driver will not lift a crate of this weight off the truck, so arrange a forklift with adequate capacity or choose terminal pickup. Residential delivery is available and carries a residential fee.
Inspect the crate before you sign for it. Fork punctures, crushed corners, cut banding and a load that has clearly shifted all need photographing and writing onto the bill of lading before the driver leaves. A clean signature makes a later damage claim extremely hard to pursue.
Warranty
The A2024TI carries the manufacturer's warranty. We have not printed a term length here rather than leave a transcribed number to go stale on the page — the current process is on our warranty claims page, and we will confirm the coverage applying to your order in writing before you buy if you ask.
Do not strip the machine down before you make a claim. Opening up the motor, the pneumatic circuit or the tilting tower to diagnose a fault yourself is the surest way to have a legitimate claim refused. Contact us with the serial number and the symptom and let us open it properly.
Talk to us about which motor suits your bay, the electrical specification, or a specific run-flat or PAX application.
