The KT-T835 wheel clamp tire changer is built to handle aggressive usage. Its alloy steel jaws are treated with carburization to a depth of approximately 0.8 to 1.1 mm and then quenched, giving the outer surface hardness while preserving inner toughness. The jaws include protective covers to help avoid scratching or marring alloy rims. The mounting head is manufactured from solution-treated stainless steel and polished for smooth interaction, and a plastic rim protector helps shield delicate wheel finishes during operation. This design emphasis on protection is vital in shops handling expensive alloy and low profile wheels.
Clamping ranges on the KT-T835 are broad and accommodating. It supports external clamping from 13 to 26 inches and internal clamping from 14 to 28 inches, allowing for service of a wide variety of rims. The machine further accommodates wheels up to 41 inches in diameter and 15 inches in width, making it suitable for passenger sedans, trucks, SUVs, and more specialized wheels. The motor is rated at 2.0 HP (1.5 kW) and is intended for 110 V single-phase power, offering ample torque and operational consistency.
