R76ATR — Tire Changer, Tilt-Back, Right-Tower Single Assist

The tower tilts back rather than swinging, which is the feature that saves the most time across a mixed day of work: the duck head does not have to be reset between one tire-and-wheel combination and the next. On a machine that is adjusted a dozen times a shift, that adds up to real floor-to-floor time rather than a line on a specification sheet.

The right-hand tower carries a single power assist, which is what deals with stiff sidewalls — the low-profile and run-flat tires that defeat a bare swing-arm changer and tempt a tired technician into levering against the rim. RimGuard clamps extend from 10" to 30", giving a 30" clamping capacity and, just as importantly, protecting the finish on alloy wheels while they are held.

LS43B — Wheel Balancer with Laser-Spot placement and a 36 mm shaft

The LS43B is a 3D Quick-Touch balancer: wheel data is taken by touching the rim rather than typed in from a tape measure, which removes the commonest source of a bad balance — data entered slightly wrong and never questioned.

What it does with that data is the interesting part. Rather than reporting a weight and a clock position for the technician to estimate, the Laser-Spot system draws a laser line at the exact plane and position where each weight belongs, inboard and outboard. Weight placement accuracy is where balancing actually goes wrong: a correctly calculated weight put a little off-plane leaves a wheel that still shakes, and the customer comes back. Ranger states balances within hundredths of an ounce.

The shaft is 36 mm, which is the sizing to check against any adapters or cones you already own before the machine arrives.

Tape Wheel Weights — the consumable that finishes the job

Supplied as combination rolls of Quick-Peel adhesive steel wheel weights: 1400 pieces in 0.25 oz increments, 1/2" wide, 22 lbs. of weight in the box. Steel rather than lead, which is what has made this style of weight the ordinary choice in most jurisdictions, and the fine increment is what lets a technician use as little weight as the wheel actually needs instead of rounding up to the next available size.

Certification, honestly

A manufacturer's own declaration of conformity is a different document from an independent laboratory listing, and some insurers, franchise standards and workplace inspectors ask specifically for the second on shop equipment.

Shipping and delivery

This package ships as freight within the lower 48 states, with the cost quoted live at checkout for your own address rather than estimated from a table. Note that it is more than one item, so expect more than one piece to arrive and check them off against the list above before the truck leaves.

Plan the unload in advance. The driver's obligation ends at the tailgate, so a forklift, a dock, or a pallet jack on level ground with a second pair of hands is what you want on site. Without any of those, take terminal pickup and collect the package from the carrier yourself. A home address is a residential delivery and carries a residential fee. Inspect everything before you sign. Damage recorded on the bill of lading in front of the driver is claimable; damage found after a clean signature usually is not — and on a multi-piece shipment, a missing carton is far easier to resolve at the tailgate than a week later.
