Description
-Katool KT-T835 and KT-B700: the balancer measures for you and marks for you
A wheel balance has two manual steps bracketing the clever bit in the middle, and both of them are where the job goes wrong. At the start someone measures the distance and diameter and keys them in. At the end someone decides where the correction weight actually goes. The KT-B700 takes both out of human hands: an automatic measurement ruler enters the A and D values directly, and an automatic marking function identifies the correction position rather than leaving a technician to line it up by eye.
That is what this pairing is for. The KT-T835 does the mounting — 582 lbs of wheel-clamp changer with a 13 in to 28 in grip and a 41 in wheel capacity — and the KT-B700 does the balancing to ±1 gram with the two error-prone steps automated. Bought together, delivered together, specified to work together.
The two places a balance actually goes astray
Not in the calculation. The electronics have been reliable for years, and a wheel that comes back is almost never a machine that computed the wrong number.
It comes back because the numbers going in were wrong — a distance read off a scale in poor light, a diameter guessed from the tyre sidewall, a figure keyed one digit out — or because the weight came out in the wrong place. Both are input and output problems, not arithmetic problems, and both are what automation is genuinely good at. An automatic ruler measures the same way every time regardless of who is holding it. An automatic marking function points at one position instead of describing one. Between them, the variation between your best technician and your newest one narrows sharply, which is worth more to a shop than another decimal place of stated accuracy.
The KT-T835 changer
Clamping runs 13 in to 26 in on the outside of a rim and 14 in to 28 in from the inside, taking wheels up to 41 in (1,040 mm) across and 15 in (350 mm) wide. Having both ranges available on the same turntable means the wheel dictates the clamping method, rather than the machine dictating it — the single biggest factor in whether alloys come off unmarked.
Power is a 2.0 HP motor with pure copper windings on a 110V single-phase supply at 60 Hz, turning the table at 6.1 revolutions per minute. A 186 mm stainless bead breaker cylinder does the separating. Rim protection is layered: alloy steel jaws carburised to 1.1 mm and quenched through, wearing covers so bare metal never touches a rim; a polished, solution-treated stainless mounting head with a plastic cover; a spade cover on the lever contact point. Double-sided assist arms deal with stiff and low-profile sidewalls, a bead blast seater head with post tank handles the tyres that will not take air, and a closed body plus a filtered, lubricated air feed keep shop dirt out of the pneumatics.
Inside the KT-B700
It balances rims to 30 in and wheel assemblies to 880 mm (34.64 in), takes wheel widths of 3 in to 12 in, centre bores to 135 mm (5.31 in) and wheel weights to 65 kg (143 lbs), spinning at 180 rpm and returning a result in about 7 seconds.
Structurally it is built to stay still: 3 mm steel body, solid welding, and an all-in-one pressure sensor support with 8 mm bottom and side boards. Every millimetre of flex under a spinning wheel is read back as imbalance, so rigidity is an accuracy specification here rather than a durability one. The 36 mm shaft thread is quenched, which is sensible for the component every wheel hangs from. The computer board is treated against moisture, dust and static — three things a tyre bay produces in quantity — and there are multiple balance modes for different rim types, unit switching between ounces and grams and between millimetres and inches, plus built-in fault diagnosis and double-sided self-calibration so the machine can be verified in-house.
What the bay has to provide
- Power for the changer: 110V single phase at 60 Hz.
- Power for the balancer: single phase, 0.25 kW motor. Published figures for the nominal voltage differ between Katool's documents, so check the plate on the machine itself before your electrician fixes the socket — and if you want it settled before delivery, ask us in writing and we will confirm it with Katool.
- Air: regulated compressed air to 145 PSI for the bead breaker, the clamps and the inflation gauge.
- Floor: flat, level concrete, with the 582 lb changer anchored as its manual requires and the balancer standing dead flat so it reads consistently.
Perfect For
- Shops with mixed experience levels, where consistency between technicians matters more than any one person's technique.
- High-volume fitting bays that measure success in comebacks avoided rather than minutes saved.
- General repair workshops taking tyre work in-house with one purchase covering both halves of the job.
- Truck and SUV fitments, where the 28 in inside clamping range and 41 in wheel capacity are the limits that decide it.

Certification, stated plainly
Katool's published data for these two machines does not name any third-party certification or listing, so this page does not claim one on their behalf. On tyre-service equipment that carries far less consequence than it does on a vehicle lift, where somebody works beneath a raised load, and the great majority of buyers are never asked for it. A minority are: some commercial insurers and some employer safety policies want documentation covering workshop machinery in general. If that describes you, ask us before you order and we will find out what actually exists rather than speculate in a description.
Shipping and delivery
Both machines ship as freight to the lower 48 states, and the price you see at checkout is fetched from the carrier for your address at that moment. The receiving arrangements are the part to sort out first: freight is delivered to the back of the truck and the crates are yours from there, which at 582 lbs for the changer alone means a forklift rather than willing hands. If that is not available where the machines are going, choose terminal pickup instead and collect from the carrier's depot, where their equipment does the loading. Residential delivery carries a residential fee, applied at checkout when you select it.
Check the freight over before the driver leaves. Look for crushed timber, cut or missing banding, movement on the pallet and any sign of impact, then record it on the bill of lading and take photographs while the truck is still there. Once you sign clean, the shipment is formally undamaged.
Warranty
Katool issues a written warranty document for this equipment and we will send you the current copy on request before you buy. One rule keeps a claim simple, whatever the document says: leave the failed part intact until the claim is open. A dismantled cylinder, valve or board counts as modified, and that turns a replacement into a negotiation nobody enjoys. Photograph the fault, note the serial numbers from both machines, and speak to us before anything comes apart.
