Katool KT-T850 and KT-B700: your compressor is the third machine in this package
Buy a tire changer and a balancer together and the thing that quietly decides whether you are happy with them is the air. The KT-T850 is a pneumatically driven machine: the bead breaker, the clamping and the assist functions all run on shop air at 0.8 to 1.0 MPa, which is 116 to 145 psi delivered at the machine. Not tank pressure, not the number on the gauge when nothing is running - pressure at the inlet during a cycle. A compressor that sags under repeated use turns a capable changer into a slow one, and the machine gets the blame.
Katool builds the air side to look after itself. A lubricator meters oil into the incoming air and filters it on the way in, which keeps moisture and grit out of the cylinders and valves. In a shop where the compressor drain is opened when someone remembers, that single component is the difference between a pneumatic circuit that lasts and one that starts leaking in its second year.
The bead breaker, and why 200 mm of aluminium is quoted
The bead-breaker cylinder is 200 mm and made of aluminium. The bore is what sets the force the blade delivers at a given air pressure, so a large cylinder does the same work at lower pressure and lower shock - which is easier on the tire, on the rim edge and on the machine's own frame. Aluminium keeps the mass of a moving assembly down. Together with the high-quality spade cover on the blade, this is the part of the machine that meets the most expensive surface on a customer's car, and it is worth understanding before you compare two changers on price.
The rest of the KT-T850
It is a tilt-arm wheel-clamp changer taking wheels up to 47 in (1,200 mm) in diameter and 15 in (380 mm) wide, clamping from the outside between 14 in and 26 in and from the inside between 16 in and 28 in. Jaws are case-hardened to a depth of 0.8 to 1.1 mm and then through-quenched so the surface resists wear while the body of the jaw stays tough, with a jaw cover over the clamping face. The mounting head is stainless, polished at the interface and fitted with a plastic cover. Assist arms carry the weight during mounting, a bead blast seater handles covers that will not seat, and the pull-type pedal system is straightforward to adjust when it eventually needs it. The motor is 2.0 HP on 110V single phase and the machine weighs 340 kg (750 lbs).
The KT-B700 balancer
The balancer takes rims to 30 in and wheels to 880 mm (34.64 in) in diameter and 3 in to 12 in in width, up to 65 kg (143 lbs), with centre bores to 135 mm (5.31 in). It spins at 180 rpm, reads to 1 g and completes a measurement in about 7 seconds. Its body is 3 mm steel, its sensor supports sit on 8 mm boards and the 36 mm shaft thread is quench treated. Self-calibration is double-sided and built in, with no stored parameters to drift, and the readout switches between ounces and grams and between millimetres and inches.

Air, first. Size the compressor for 116 to 145 psi at the machine during a cycle, with a drain and preferably a dryer ahead of it.

Power. The changer is listed at 110V single phase, the balancer at 120V single phase. Two ordinary outlets, planned where the machines will actually stand.

Approvals, stated plainly
No third-party safety listing accompanies either machine in the manufacturer's data, and we will not imply one exists. That is unremarkable for tire equipment at this level. It becomes relevant only if an insurer, a landlord or a customer contract specifically names a listing document for powered shop equipment - if that is your situation, ask us first and we will take it to the manufacturer rather than answer it here.
Shipping and delivery
Both machines go by freight to the lower 48 states, priced live at checkout against the address you enter so the figure is a real carrier rate rather than an estimate that has drifted. Getting a 340 kg crate off the trailer is the receiver's responsibility: arrange a forklift or a dock, or collect from the carrier's local terminal, which usually turns out to be the least painful option. If you choose delivery to a residential address, a residential fee is applied at checkout.
Look the shipment over before signing for it. Crushed corners, banding that has slipped, torn wrapping, bent guards, oil on the pallet - anything you see goes on the bill of lading in front of the driver, with photographs taken there and then. Sign clean and the carrier's record says both machines arrived undamaged, which is a difficult thing to reopen afterwards.
Warranty
Katool issues a written warranty document for these machines; ask us for the current copy before ordering if the terms matter. One caution worth repeating: if a fault appears, do not dismantle the pneumatic circuit, the motor or the balancer's electronics before the claim is open. A component that has been taken apart is normally treated as modified, and cover that would have been honoured is lost. Photograph the fault, note both serial numbers and call us first.
