Katool KT-T900 Tire Changer with Wheel Balancer KT-B750 Combo

A complete tire bay that plugs into single-phase power

Here is the specification on this package that changes a shop's budget rather than its workflow: neither machine needs three-phase service. The KT-T900 changer is listed at 110V, single phase, 60 Hz. The KT-B750 balancer runs on 120V, single phase. For a pair of professional machines built around a hydraulic power system, that is genuinely unusual, and it means a shop, a unit or a serious home workshop can commission this pair without an electrician running a new service to the building first.

That matters because electrical work is the hidden line in equipment budgets. Plenty of tire bays are quoted at a sensible number and then cost several thousand more because the building needed a supply upgrade before anything could be switched on. This pairing sidesteps that entirely. What you do need is compressed air, which the changer uses at up to 145 PSI, and floor space for two machines.

Will It Fit?

No ceiling requirement and no concrete specification here. The constraints are floor, air, power and the route in, and confirming all four is the buyer's job before ordering.

  • Power. 110V single phase at 60 Hz for the changer, 120V single phase for the balancer. Ordinary shop circuits. Confirm you have two of them where the machines will stand, rather than one shared with a compressor.
  • Compressed air. The changer's published air pressure runs to 145 PSI. If your shop has no compressor, that is a purchase to make alongside these machines and not afterwards.
  • Floor. Two machines, each needing clear working space on the sides an operator uses. Lay both footprints out in tape before you commit a bay.
  • Getting them in. The changer alone is 414 lbs (188 kg) net. Measure your narrowest doorway and the route from the delivery point first.
  • Your responsibility. Building, floor, air supply, electrical supply and unloading are all the buyer's to arrange. Sort them out before freight is booked.

The changer half: assistance where the weight is

The KT-T900 is a centre-post design taking wheels up to 47 inches (1,200 mm) in diameter and 16 inches (406 mm) wide, with a clamping range from 12 inches to 30 inches. The interesting part is not the envelope, it is what happens inside it.

Two assist mechanisms do the physical work a technician would otherwise do with their back. The top assist arm holds the upper bead down while the tire is worked, which is what makes low-profile and run-flat construction manageable rather than a fight. A separate wheel lift assistant raises the wheel into position on the table, so the heaviest, most awkward moment in the whole job, getting the assembly onto the machine, is not a lift. Neither of these speeds up the machine. They change how tired the person operating it is at four in the afternoon, which in practice is the same thing.

Turntable rotation is 6.8 RPM. Slower than you might expect, and deliberately so: on a leverless machine the operator is guiding a bead over a rim edge, and speed at that moment buys nothing and risks a gouge. Force comes from the hydraulic system, driven by a 2.0 HP gearbox motor with a separate 1.5 HP hydraulic circuit, so the tenth wheel of the shift gets the same treatment as the first.

The balancer half: automatic measurement is the time saving

The KT-B750 handles rim diameters under 30 inches and wheels under 880 mm overall, weighing under 65 kg, with a rim centre hole under 135 mm. It spins at 180 rpm, returns a reading in about seven seconds, and states a balancing accuracy of one gram.

The feature that actually saves time is quieter than any of those numbers: an automatic measurement ruler that inputs the wheel dimensions for you. On a manual balancer, every wheel begins with a technician reading three dimensions off the rim and typing them in, and every one of those three is an opportunity to enter a number that is nearly right. A wheel balanced against slightly wrong dimensions comes back as a vibration complaint, and a comeback costs far more than the minute it saved. Automatic entry removes the whole class of error, and it makes the machine usable by a less experienced technician without supervision.

Check the balancer's wheel width before you order

Published figures for the balancer's wheel width capability differ: the description text gives a range, while the specification table gives a single figure of 15 inches. Both remain printed in the specification block on this page. If your work sits near that limit, call us and we will confirm the current figure with Katool before you order.

Perfect For

  • Shops without three-phase service, which is the single most common reason a tire bay does not get built.
  • General repair shops adding tire work to keep a job in-house instead of sending the customer down the road.
  • Tire retailers setting up a second bay, or replacing a pair of tired machines with one purchase and one warranty document.

What is in the Box

Two machines. The changer comes with its leverless mounting head and rim protectors, the top assist arm, the wheel lift assistant and its hydraulic power system. The balancer comes with its automatic measurement ruler and display. Katool does not publish an itemised accessory list for the combination, and we are not going to invent one: wheel weights, cones, valve tools, hydraulic oil and a compressor are not described as included. If you need any of them on day one, ask before you order and we will confirm what is in the crates.

Certification, stated plainly

Nothing in the material we hold claims an independent third-party safety listing from a recognised testing body for either machine, and we are not going to imply one with a badge. It is worth saying plainly rather than leaving to be discovered: a manufacturer's own declaration that equipment conforms to a standard and an independent body testing and listing it are different documents, even when both end up as a mark on a plate. Some commercial insurance policies, some fleet and municipal maintenance contracts and some local jurisdictions require the second kind by name. If that describes your operation, get the requirement in writing from your insurer or your inspector first, then ask us for the documentation that actually ships with these machines.

Shipping and delivery

This package moves by freight truck to addresses in the lower 48 states, and freight is quoted live at checkout against your address so the figure you see is a current carrier rate rather than a stale estimate. Unloading is the receiver's responsibility: you need a forklift, a loading dock or a machine capable of taking crates off a trailer. If none of that exists where the machines are going, collecting from the carrier's local terminal is usually simpler, and the terminal already has the equipment. Delivery to a residential address carries a residential fee, applied at checkout when you choose that option.

Inspect both crates before you sign. Look for crushed corners, punctures, shifted banding and any trace of hydraulic oil, write what you find on the bill of lading while the driver is still present, and photograph it. A clean signature is the carrier's evidence that everything arrived intact, and unwinding that afterwards is very hard.

Warranty

Katool publishes a written warranty document covering these machines. One warning applies to any hydraulic machine whoever built it: if something fails, do not open the power unit, a cylinder or a valve block before a claim has been raised. A disassembled component is normally treated as a modified one, which is the quickest way to lose coverage that would otherwise have been honoured. Photograph the fault, record the serial number, and call before you reach for a spanner.
