Katool Tire Equipment - KT-T800 & KT-B750 Tire Changer & Wheel Balancer Combo

Katool KT-T800 and KT-B750: check the clamping range before you check anything else

Here is the question that decides whether this is the right station for you, asked before the sales copy rather than after delivery. The KT-T800 clamps a rim from the outside between 12" and 20", and from the inside between 14" and 24". If your work is passenger cars, vans and light trucks, that covers it comfortably. If you regularly work on wheels that need outside clamping above 20", you want a changer with a wider outside range instead — tell us your rim mix and we will point you at the right one rather than sell you this one twice.

With that settled, the KT-T800 and KT-B750 make a complete wheel service corner for a shop adding tyre work: mount and demount on one machine, balance on the other, both on single-phase power, and no wheel walked across the building in between.

The numbers that actually limit the changer

Maximum wheel diameter is 41"/1040mm and maximum width is 15"/380mm, but those are outer envelopes. The clamping ranges above are what determine whether a specific rim can be held, and a wheel at the very top of a range wants care rather than confidence. Driving it all is a 2.0HP motor with pure copper windings — copper matters here for heat rather than for power, because a changer that runs all afternoon fails at the motor first — behind a closed body that keeps grit and swarf out of the mechanism.

What protects the rim

Three parts do the work, and on alloy wheels they are the whole argument. The jaws are alloy steel given a carburization treatment, so the gripping surface is hard while the jaw body stays tough, and they wear jaw covers. The mounting head is stainless steel with a plastic rim-protecting cover. The spade cover shields the rim edge where the tool passes. One scuffed wheel on a customer car costs more than the difference between a careful changer and a cheap one, which is why this is worth reading twice.

The inflation gauge is pedal-controlled, so both your hands stay on the tyre while air goes in, and the pull-type pedal control system keeps the machine's actions on your feet rather than on a hand you would rather have free.

The KT-B750 balancer

The balancer is built around a 3mm steel body, because a machine that flexes reads its own movement and calls it wheel imbalance. On top of that sit an advanced sensor system, an automatic measurement ruler that inputs the A and D values without you typing them, and a control board built to be moisture-proof and dust-proof — a real consideration in a bay where tyre soap and compressed air get everywhere. Built-in fault diagnosis and self-calibration let the machine be checked in-house, and multiple balance modes cover different rim styles.

Its published limits: rim diameter under 30", wheel diameter under 880mm (34.6 inches; the spec sheet writes it as 34.64"), wheel weight under 143 lbs (65 KG), rim centre hole under 135mm, balancing speed 180rpm.

Power, and a discrepancy worth knowing about

Both machines are single-phase and both plug into an ordinary shop circuit rather than a three-phase supply. Be aware, though, that the published figures for this pair are not consistent: one source lists the changer at 110V 1PH and the balancer at 120V 1PH, and another lists them the other way round. In practice that is the same nominal single-phase supply in a North American shop, but if your building's supply is marginal or you are wiring dedicated circuits, message us with your panel details and we will confirm the current factory figures before you order.

Will It Fit?

  • Air. The changer wants regulated compressed air at 0.8 to 1.0 MPa (116 to 145psi). Size the compressor for the machine — a small hobby unit will sag under a bead break.
  • Floor and weight. The changer is listed at 410 lbs (186KG) and the balancer at about 300 lbs. Both want a level, solid floor and room to roll a wheel in from either side without walking it around a bench.
  • Anchoring. Plan on bolting the changer down. A bead breaker puts real force into the base, and a machine that moves under load is a machine that marks rims.
  • Layout. Set the two so a technician can pivot from one to the other with a wheel in hand. That single decision is most of the productivity a combo is bought for.

Perfect For

  • General repair shops adding tyre service for the first time, which is the classic reason both machines are bought together.
  • Independent tyre shops working mainly on passenger cars, vans and light trucks.
  • Fleet workshops that want to stop paying for the round trip to an outside tyre shop.
  • Serious home and club workshops with single-phase power and a compressor already installed.

Certification, stated plainly

Neither machine carries a certification mark or third-party listing in the data we hold, and we are not going to imply one by writing a badge into this page. For most tyre equipment that never becomes an issue. It becomes one when an insurer, a local code, or a fleet or municipal contract names a specific listing your equipment must carry. If that is your situation, ask us before ordering and we will request the current documentation from the manufacturer rather than guess at it here.

Shipping and delivery

Both machines travel by freight truck to addresses in the lower 48 states. Freight is quoted live at checkout against the address you enter, so the figure on screen is a current carrier rate and not an estimate that has gone stale. They arrive crated on a standard trailer, and taking them off it is the receiver's job — a forklift, a machine, or a plan and a second pair of hands. Where none of that exists, collecting at the carrier's local terminal is usually simpler, because the terminal is already equipped for it. A residential delivery address carries a residential fee, applied at checkout when you choose that option.

Check both crates before signing anything. Look for crushed corners, punctures, shifted banding and anything visibly bent, and write what you find on the bill of lading while the driver is there. Photograph it. A clean delivery receipt is the carrier's evidence that the shipment arrived intact, and reopening that afterwards is close to impossible.

Warranty

Katool publishes a written warranty document covering this equipment. We have not paraphrased the terms here because they are the manufacturer's to state and they change — ask us for the current copy before ordering if the coverage is part of your decision. One rule holds whoever built the machine: if something fails, do not strip the mounting head, the pneumatic assembly or the balancer's sensor mount before a claim is open. A disassembled part is normally treated as a modified part, and that is the quickest way to lose coverage you would otherwise have had. Photograph the fault, note the serial number, and call first.
