Product Description

The European-market AVM target — and the part number is the whole point

This is the TOPDON ADAS Target AVM-EU, part number TD52110056, and it is the European variant of the around view monitoring target. TOPDON also publishes an American-market AVM target. The two are different products with different part numbers, and buying the wrong one is the single most common way a shop ends up with an expensive panel it cannot use. If you are equipping for European vehicles, this is the one.

It is a calibration target: a precision-printed pattern the vehicle's cameras are shown, under a controlled setup, so the car can re-learn where its own cameras are pointing. It is used with a TOPDON diagnostic tool running the calibration routine — the target is the reference, not the instrument.

What an AVM system is, and why it needs recalibrating

Around view monitoring stitches the feeds from several cameras — typically in the grille, the tailgate and under each mirror — into a single overhead image of the car. The stitching only works because the vehicle knows exactly where each camera sits and which way it points. Every one of those assumptions is fragile.

Replace a wing mirror, repair a bumper, change a windscreen, straighten a panel, alter ride height or simply knock a mirror hard enough in a car park, and the geometry the software depends on has moved. The visible symptom is a seam in the 360-degree view where the images no longer line up, or parking guidelines that sit somewhere the car is not going to go. The invisible symptom is worse: parking assistance and low-speed manoeuvring functions acting on a picture that is wrong.

Calibration is how that is put right. The car is presented with a known pattern at a known position, and the system solves for where its cameras actually are. Without a correct target, there is nothing to solve against.

Why the target itself has to be right

A calibration target is not a printed poster. The pattern's geometry is the reference the vehicle measures itself against, so its accuracy, flatness and surface finish are the specification — a warped, faded, scuffed or dimensionally approximate panel produces a confident calibration that is quietly wrong, which is more dangerous than a failed one. TOPDON's listing describes this target as built for durability and precision for exactly that reason.

It also has to be the pattern the vehicle's own routine expects. Manufacturers do not share a single design, and the algorithms differ between markets even where the cars look similar — which is why an EU-specific and an AM-specific target both exist rather than one universal panel.

What you need around it

The target is one part of a calibration setup, and the rest of it is your workshop. In general terms, a static camera calibration needs a level floor, enough clear space around the vehicle for the target to be positioned as the procedure demands, consistent lighting without glare or strong shadows across the pattern, and a vehicle prepared to the manufacturer's stated condition — tyre pressures, fuel and load state and ride height all shift the geometry the cameras see.

We are not going to publish distances, heights or clearances for this target, because none are stated in this product's data and a guessed figure would be worse than none. The exact positioning is given by the calibration procedure on your scan tool for the specific vehicle in front of you. If you want to know whether your bay is big enough before you buy, tell us the makes you intend to calibrate and we will get the space requirement confirmed.

Perfect For

  • Body shops doing bumper, panel and mirror repair on European vehicles, where AVM recalibration is a routine part of closing the job.
  • Glass and windscreen specialists who already calibrate forward cameras and want to cover surround-view as well.
  • Independent workshops with a TOPDON diagnostic platform adding ADAS calibration as a billable service rather than sublet work.
  • Mobile ADAS operators whose customer base is European makes.

What's in the Box

The product data describes a single calibration target and nothing further, so nothing further is claimed here. In particular:

  • No diagnostic scan tool is included — the target is used with one you already have.
  • No stand, frame or positioning hardware is listed as supplied.
  • No other market's AVM target is included; this is the EU part only.

If you are not certain which stand or frame your calibration procedure requires, ask before ordering rather than after.

No dimensions, weight or material specification is published for this product in the data we hold. We would rather show you an honest gap than fill it with plausible numbers — ask us and we will get the figures from TOPDON.

Certification

No certification or third-party approval is claimed for this target in its data, and none is implied here. What matters in practice is procedural rather than certified: a calibration is only valid if it was performed with the target the vehicle manufacturer's routine specifies, in the conditions that routine specifies. If you are calibrating to a standard your insurer or a customer's warranty relies on, confirm that this target is the one that procedure names before you use it in anger.

Shipping and Delivery

Shipping is quoted live at checkout for the address you enter, within the lower 48 states. No figure is fixed into this page because carrier pricing changes.

Inspect a calibration target the moment it arrives, and do it carefully. This is a product whose entire value is in the flatness and accuracy of a printed surface, so transit damage that would be cosmetic on anything else is a functional failure here. Check for creasing, warping, scuffing and impact marks across the whole pattern, and record anything you find on the carrier's paperwork before you sign. A target that has been sat on in a trailer looks fine in the box and calibrates wrong for years.

Warranty

No warranty term for this product is recorded in our data, so none is stated here rather than guessed at. Ask and we will confirm it in writing; our warranty claims page explains the process.

One practical note specific to targets: store it flat and covered. Most target failures are not defects, they are storage — leaned against a wall, propped behind a bench, left in sunlight. A target that has developed a bow is not a warranty claim, and it is not something you will notice until a calibration you signed off turns out to have been wrong.
