-Ranger Wheel Weight Dispenser Stand
This is a two-roll stand, and that is the whole argument for it. It accepts two rolls of adhesive steel tape wheel weights at once, in widths between 10.5" and 11.5", which is the size band most standard Ranger tape weight systems are supplied in. One roll is in use while the other sits loaded and ready, so a roll running out mid-shift is a reach rather than a stoppage.
Anyone who has balanced wheels for a living knows the failure it is designed around. Loose rolls of adhesive tape weight end up on a bench, on the floor, or half-unwound in a drawer, and the liner picks up grit and the adhesive picks up whatever it touches. A weight that will not stick is worse than no weight at all, because you find out about it when the customer comes back.
Will It Fit?
There is one measurement that decides compatibility and it is the tape width. The stand is built to carry rolls between 10.5" and 11.5" wide. Before ordering, check the width printed on the boxes of tape weight you actually buy — not the weight-per-segment, the roll width. If your usual product sits outside that band, this is not the stand for it and we would rather you knew now.
Everything else is a siting question rather than a fitting one. The stand is free-standing and wants a small patch of floor within arm's reach of the balancer, ideally on the side the technician works from, and clear of the wheel path so it is not clipped by a tyre being rolled in. It is a floor-standing unit, so it needs floor space rather than bench space. Confirming that you have somewhere sensible to put it is your call, not something a product page can settle.
Confirm the shipping weight before you order
Published figures for the shipping weight differ: the specification block on this page gives 60 lbs., while the product description says the stand ships "weighing around 100 lbs."
The gap matters for two reasons: whether one person can move the crate off a dock, and what the freight quote is calculated on. If either affects your decision, confirm the crated weight with us in writing before you order — we will get it straight from Ranger.
| What to check | Figure | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Tape roll width accepted | 10.5" to 11.5" | The one true compatibility test — measure your usual roll |
| Rolls carried | Two, side by side | One in use, one in reserve; no stoppage on a roll change |
| Shipping weight, as published in the spec block | 60 lbs. | See the note above — the description says around 100 lbs |
Tension is the point, not storage
A dispenser stand that only holds rolls off the floor would be a rack. What separates this one is that it controls how the tape leaves the roll. The roll hubs and alignment guides hold the strip under consistent tension, which is what lets the liner peel away cleanly in one piece instead of tearing, and which stops the strip folding or wrinkling on its way to your hand.
That matters because of how adhesive wheel weights fail. A wrinkled strip does not make full contact with the rim, so the bond is smaller than it looks and the weight departs somewhere on a motorway. A torn liner means fingers on the adhesive, and skin oil is exactly what stops it sticking. Neither problem announces itself at the time; both come back as a re-balance you do not get paid for.
Built to survive the floor it lives on
The structure is heavy-duty steel with a powder-coated finish. In a balancing bay that finish is doing real work: this is a unit that stands in the splash zone of tyre lubricant, gets brushed past all day and is periodically kicked. Powder coat resists the rust that follows, and steel takes the knock as a dent rather than a crack.
The base is deliberately heavy so the stand resists tipping when both rolls are loaded and someone pulls tape from the top of one of them — a light dispenser with a full roll high on it is a thing that walks across a floor. The roll posts are serviceable and replaceable, which is the difference between a worn post and a new stand.
Keeping the tape off the floor
The design holds the tape elevated, and the benefit is contamination as much as tidiness. Adhesive tape weight that has sat on a shop floor has picked up grit and moisture on the liner side and there is no way to clean it off without ruining the adhesive. Elevated, guided storage means the strip you pull is the strip that left the factory, and it means the roll is not being trodden on, run over by a wheel or soaked by whatever ran across the floor last.
There is a second, quieter benefit: consumption becomes visible. When both rolls live in one place at eye level, anyone walking past can see how much is left, so restocking happens before the run-out rather than because of it.
Perfect For
- Tyre and balancing bays using adhesive tape weights as their standard method rather than clip-on weights.
- Alloy wheel specialists, where tape weight on the inner barrel is the only acceptable finish.
- High-throughput shops running consecutive balancing shifts where a roll change is a real interruption.
- Well-organised home and club workshops with a balancer and a habit of doing the job properly.
What's in the Box
The dispenser stand itself, with its roll posts, hubs and tape alignment guides. The description on this page says it arrives pre-assembled or needing minimal assembly. Note carefully that no adhesive tape weights are described as included — this is the stand, and the tape is a separate consumable. If you want us to confirm the exact carton contents and whether any assembly hardware or instructions are supplied, ask before ordering and we will get it in writing.
Approvals, stated plainly
Nothing in the data behind this listing claims a third-party approval, listing or conformity mark for this stand, and we will not imply one. For a passive shop fixture that is entirely normal — it lifts nothing and supports no vehicle. If your site's insurer or safety policy nonetheless requires documented conformity for workshop equipment, tell us what evidence you need and we will request it from Ranger instead of guessing.
Shipping and delivery
We deliver to the lower 48 states, with the cost quoted live at checkout for the address you enter rather than estimated from an average. If the order travels as freight, the carrier books a delivery window with you, somebody at the address must be able to get it off the truck, and collecting from the freight terminal yourself is always an alternative. Residential deliveries carry a residential fee. Check the crate against the paperwork before you sign, and write any damage on the delivery receipt at the time — a clean signature is very hard to walk back afterwards. Collection from the pickup locations listed further down this page is also available.
Warranty
Ranger's written product warranty applies to this stand and we will send you the current document on request. The data behind this listing states no term, so this page prints none rather than inventing one; ask us and we will confirm it properly. If something does fail, please do not weld, drill or otherwise modify the stand before you speak to us — a repaired or altered unit is the most common reason a claim that should have been paid is refused.
