-Description
-FR-77-20: a solid steel plate deck you can anchor almost anywhere on
The specification line that separates this machine from the rest of the FR-77 family is the deck design: steel plate, drilled with multiple precision-cut tie-down hole locations. A plate deck gives you a continuous working surface and a grid of anchor points across it, which means the fixture goes where the vehicle's structure needs it rather than where a tubular lattice happens to allow it. On an unusual body, an older full-frame vehicle or a repair that needs an anchor mid-deck, that is the difference between setting up in ten minutes and improvising.
Around the deck sits a 20' bench rated 7,700 lbs, with two 10 Ton pulling towers and a clear-floor layout that gives 360º of pulling.
What to confirm about the deck
The product title and the specification table both say the deck is steel plate. One bullet in the feature list below says tubular deck construction — it is the wording used on the tubular models in the same range and it does not belong here. It is called out because the deck is exactly what you are choosing between when you compare this model with the FR-77T.
If the deck material is what decides your purchase, ask us to confirm it in writing before you order. We will get it from iDEAL rather than from a bullet list.
Two towers, and what the second one is actually for
Two 10 Ton towers with telescoping heads is not simply twice the pull of one. The reason to have two is that most real corrections are not a single pull: you hold the structure in one direction while you correct in another, and a shop with one tower does that by re-rigging between every stage. Telescoping heads set the pull height at the panel rather than forcing you to chain up or down to reach it, and adjustable tower collars let you fix that height and leave it.
The overhead boom pull tower extension takes the chain above the vehicle for roof-rail and upper-body work, which is the pull a floor-level tower cannot make cleanly. Each tower runs from its own air/hydraulic pump with a pressure gauge — two pumps, so a held pull is genuinely held while the second stage is set up, and the system runs at up to 10,000 PSI with quick-disconnect fittings and hose connections so rigging changes do not mean bleeding the circuit.
Clear floor and 360º
Clear-floor construction means the pulling perimeter is not interrupted by structure, so the towers can be positioned around the full 360º of the bench. It also means the technician walks around the vehicle instead of over rails. Combined with the tie-down hole grid in the plate deck, it is what lets a shop anchor a vehicle once and then work every angle without breaking the set-up down and starting again.
Will It Fit?
- Floor length. The bench is 20'. Add drive-on room at the ramp end and a working perimeter around it — a rack you cannot walk around is a rack you cannot pull 360º on.
- Floor width. 82.68" across the bench, plus tower swing on both sides.
- Bench height. 19.70", which is the drive-on height the vehicle has to climb.
- Air supply. The pneumatic pressure range is listed as 115 PSI. Confirm your compressor holds that under continuous demand rather than only at cut-out — a pump starved of air makes a slow, jerky pull.
- Floor. iDEAL publishes no concrete depth or strength figure in the data we hold for this machine, so we will not print one. The requirement is in the manual that ships with the rack, and meeting it is the buyer's responsibility.
Perfect For
- Collision shops running full-frame and uni-body work through the same bay.
- High-volume body shops where a second tower removes a re-rigging step from every job.
- Truck and light commercial repairers needing a 20' bench for long wheelbases.
- Restoration specialists squaring shells that need anchors in places a fixed lattice does not offer.

Certification, stated honestly
iDEAL's data for the FR-77-20 makes no third-party safety listing claim, and we are not going to imply one. Frame racks sit outside the listing scheme that covers vehicle lifts, but insurers and some local authorities still ask what is listed in a collision bay and by whom.
If you expect that question, have it put in writing by whoever is asking and bring it to us before you order. We will take it to iDEAL and answer it with a document.
Shipping and Delivery
Freight to the lower 48, at a listed ship weight of 5,953 lbs on a 20' deck. Read that as two separate problems: the weight needs a forklift with capacity in reserve, and the length needs somewhere to put a 20' load once it is off the truck. The driver will not unload it. If your site cannot, take terminal pickup and collect it with your own equipment.
Inspect before you sign. Photograph any bent steel or crush damage, check the towers, pumps and dolly against the packing list, and write what you found on the bill of lading in front of the driver.
Residential delivery carries a residential fee. Freight is quoted live at checkout against your ZIP code.
Warranty
Terms and the claim process are on our warranty claims page. Do not dismantle a suspect part before the claim is open — an opened pump or cylinder is the usual reason a real failure falls outside cover. Photograph it and call us.
