BendPak RJ45LP Low-Profile Rolling Bridge Jack

LP is for low profile, and on this jack it is not a styling word. The pads sit 4.25" (108 mm) above the runway when the jack is fully lowered, and the arms extend to 61" (1,549 mm) — the lowest drive-over height and the longest reach of BendPak's two 4,500 lb bridge jacks. That combination is unusual and it is the reason to choose this model: it is the jack for a shop whose vehicle list runs to the low and the wide at the same time.

What 4.25 inches actually buys you

Drive-over height is the clearance a vehicle needs to roll over the jack sitting in the runway channel. It is a hard limit, not a preference — a car that cannot clear the jack cannot use the lift with the jack in place, and the alternative is sliding the jack out and back for every vehicle, which nobody keeps doing for long. At 4.25" fully lowered, the RJ45LP gives lowered cars, sports cars and modified vehicles the room to drive straight over.

The 61" maximum arm reach is the other half of the argument, and it points at the opposite end of the vehicle list. Wide-frame trucks and SUVs put their lift points further apart than a passenger car does, and reach is what decides whether you can meet both of them at the manufacturer's designated points rather than improvising.

RJ45LP or RJ45W?

Two specifications separate them. Everything else — capacity, pump, pads, adapters, rollers — is common.

Choose this one if low-stance vehicles or wide frames appear on your list. If neither does, the RJ45W does the same job.

Will it fit your lift and your shop?

The lift. The redesigned easy-roll wheels are sized for the runway channels of standard four-post lift models rated 7,000 lbs of lifting capacity or greater; BendPak names the HD-7 Series, HD-9 Series and GP-9 Series as suitable. Confirm the rating and the channel on your own lift before ordering.

The span. The support base adjusts from 35.5" (902 mm) to 46.5" (1,181 mm) across the runways, and arm reach runs from 42" (1,067 mm) at minimum to 61" (1,549 mm) at maximum.

Air, and a figure the sources disagree on. There is no electrical requirement — the jack's own air-hydraulic power unit runs independently of the lift, controlled by a foot pedal on the unit. It does need a compressed-air drop, and the two published figures do not match: the product information supplied with the jack asks for an air line at 125 psi and 10 - 20 CFM, while the specification sheet for the same model lists the air requirement as 125 PSI (10-25 CFM). Pressure agrees; flow does not. Size against the higher flow figure if your compressor is marginal, or ask us to confirm the requirement with the manufacturer before you order.

Working heights. Pad only: 4.25" (108 mm) drive-over, lifting to 15.25" (387 mm). With the 2.75" adapter: 7" (178 mm) up to 18" (457 mm). With the 5.5" adapter: 9.75" (248 mm) up to 21" (533 mm). Note the trade — the adapters that get you up to a high lift point are also what raises the drive-over height, so the low-profile advantage is spent if you leave a tall stack fitted for everything.

Rollers built for a dirty channel

Hardened stainless steel, zinc plated. A roller assembly this close to the runway floor lives in the worst of the debris, and the reason the material specification is published is that a bound roller is the failure that makes a shop stop using a bridge jack properly — it gets pushed roughly into position rather than placed precisely, and precision is the point. Plated and hardened, they keep gliding.

Pads, adapters and three lock levels

Non-marring rubber contact pads protect the vehicle where the jack meets it, and BendPak offers a frame cradle set as an option for trucks and SUVs, which we do recommend for wide-bodied frames — it spreads the load along the rail. The stackable adapters extend reach upward to lift points a bare pad cannot get to. Three lock positions let you set the height to the work, and for maximum undercarriage access you can raise the four-post lift first, add the adapters, then take the jack to the top of its travel.

Certification and compliance, stated honestly

No third-party safety listing is claimed for the RJ45LP in the product data we hold, so none is claimed here. Some insurers, fleet operators and local jurisdictions require equipment carrying a North American third-party safety listing — an independent test-house listing, which is a different document from a manufacturer's own declaration of conformity. Shipping and delivery

A rolling bridge jack ships as freight to the lower 48 states, crated on a pallet. Unloading is the receiving end's job — a forklift, a dock and pallet jack, or a terminal collection you arrange instead. Delivery to a residential address is a different service from a commercial dock and carries a residential fee, quoted live at checkout rather than guessed at here.

Walk the pallet before you sign. Check the crate, the pump housing and the roller assemblies, and write any damage on the bill of lading in the driver's presence — a clean signed bill is the carrier's evidence that it arrived intact.

Warranty

The jack is covered by BendPak's published warranty document, which is what governs a claim; ask us for the current version before you order if the term matters to your decision. One condition is worth stating plainly: do not disassemble the pump, the cylinder or the lock mechanism before a claim is raised. An opened unit is usually outside the warranty by the time anyone looks at it, and the fault is exactly what the manufacturer needs to see intact.
