Description
-TC755EZ and WB49-2 — the assist arm is what the “EZ” buys you
This package pairs a tilt-back rim-clamp tire changer with a computerised spin balancer, and the letters on the end of the changer’s model number are the reason to choose it. The EZ complete assist arm is included. On a plain rim-clamp machine, a modern low-profile or run-flat tire is a two-person job or a fight: the sidewall will not flex, so somebody has to hold the bead down in the drop centre while somebody else works the head. The assist arm does the holding. One technician mounts the tire, and does it without leaning on the rim.
The balancer beside it has a quality that gets overlooked until moving day: the WB49-2 needs no anchor-down installation. It does not have to be bolted into your slab. In a leased unit, or a shop that reorganises its bays, that is the difference between a machine and a fixture.
Will It Fit Your Shop?
- Power: both machines run on 110 volt. No three-phase, no transformer, no electrician’s quote before you can use them.
- Air: the changer needs 90–110 PSI from an external supply, and the specification is explicit that it must not exceed 140 PSI. A regulator is included; use it. The balancer needs no air at all.
- Floor: the changer arrives at 900 lb and the balancer at 400 lb. The balancer does not need anchoring; plan the changer’s position properly, because it is the one you will not want to move twice.
Then check the work rather than the room. The changer clamps externally from 11 7/8" to 27 7/8" and internally from 13 7/8" to 29 7/8", takes a tire up to 47" in diameter and a wheel up to 18" wide at the bead breaker. The balancer handles rims from 10" to 32" with widths from 1 1/2" to 20", and a wheel weighing up to 150 lb. Confirming that your normal fitments sit inside those numbers is the customer’s responsibility, and it is a quick check against your last month of tickets.
What the changer does that a cheaper one does not
Three things, and none of them are obvious from a photograph.
The bead breaker is button-controlled at the blade itself, so the operator’s hand and eye are at the point of contact rather than at a pedal several feet away. On a corroded wheel, being able to feather the blade is what keeps the rim edge intact. It develops 5,500 lb of force, which is what a bead that has sat for six winters actually needs.
The turntable is electric and the table motor is rated at 1 HP, developing 885 ft/lbs of rotating torque. Torque, not speed, is what carries a stiff sidewall around the head without stalling halfway. The jaws are adjustable across three mounting positions, so the same table covers small alloys and wide truck wheels without an adapter kit.
Inflation is handled by a built-in bead-blasting system and a column-mounted inflator box with its own gauge. Seating an obstinate bead is the step that most often defeats a shop with a plain air chuck, and having the blast, the gauge and the regulator on the machine means the operator is not walking anywhere mid-job.
What the balancer does between wheels
The WB49-2 is a motorised spin balancer with automatic 2D data entry, so distance and diameter are captured by the gauge rather than typed. It resolves weight position to 1.4 degrees and spins at 150 RPM. The split-weight function places weights behind spokes on an alloy where a visible clip-on would be rejected by the customer, and the automatic LED light and auto-positioning mean the operator is not hunting for the twelve o’clock mark by hand.
Practical touches carry the rest: the hood starts and stops the cycle, the brake works automatically and on a pedal, the display can be read in grams or ounces and millimetres or inches, and the machine self-diagnoses and self-calibrates. The motor is 1/4 HP and the shaft is 40mm.
Perfect For
- High-volume tire shops buying both machines at once and wanting them to arrive together and match.
- General repair shops adding tire service, where 110 volt power and a balancer that needs no anchoring keep the installation trivial.
- One-technician bays — the assist arm is the whole argument here.
- Shops in leased premises that may not drill the floor, or may have to hand the building back as they found it.
What’s in the Box
With the changer: the EZ assist arm, a column-mounted inflator box with gauge, a filter/regulator/lubricator, a 20" tire tool, a lube bucket with brush, a set of large plastic jaw covers, a plastic cover for the bead breaker shovel, and spare plastic inserts for the mount/demount head. With the balancer: a plastic quick-release nut, four centring cones, wheel weight pliers and measuring calipers. The compressed air supply is yours to provide.

Certification, stated plainly
Both machines carry the CE marking. That is worth understanding for what it is: a manufacturer’s declaration of conformity against European directives, made by the manufacturer itself. It is not the same document as a North American third-party listing carried out by an outside testing body, and it is not a substitute for one. Wheel service equipment is rarely written into insurance or code requirements the way vehicle lifts are, but if your policy, your franchise agreement or a local inspector has specified an equipment listing, read the wording and confirm what it actually asks for before you order.
Shipping and delivery
Freight only, lower 48 states, quoted live at checkout against your address so the number is current rather than historical. Two crates, at 900 lb and 400 lb, need a forklift, a dock, or a terminal pickup you collect yourself — a driver will not carry these into your building. A residential delivery carries a residential fee. Inspect both crates before signing and write any damage onto the bill of lading while the truck is still there; that note is what a freight claim is built on, and a clean signature is very hard to walk back.
Warranty
Both machines carry the Atlas 1 year parts-only warranty. Parts only means the component is supplied and the labour to fit it is not covered. If a motor, a valve or a board fails, open the claim before anything is dismantled — a part that comes back already stripped cannot be assessed, and that is the ordinary way a good claim goes bad.
