Atlas STW-750 Extra Large Spray Wash Cabinet

Most parts washers are sold on what they clean. The reason to buy this one is how the work gets into it. The cabinet has cut-away sides beneath the door, so an engine crane rolls straight over the turntable and lowers a cylinder head, a transmission or a complete engine onto it — no lifting across a lip, no wrestling a heavy assembly through a narrow opening, no second person. Combined with a 1,000 lb capacity turntable, that is what makes this cabinet usable for the parts a smaller washer forces you to clean by hand.

The door is octagonal and full-opening, which exposes more than 55% of the turntable when it is open.

How it cleans, and what it does not need

This is a hot-water spray cabinet, not a solvent tank. It works with hot water and biodegradable detergent — no harmful solvents, nothing to store under a permit, and no drum of contaminated solvent to have collected. For a lot of shops that alone settles the argument, because the disposal and compliance burden of a solvent washer is an ongoing cost while a spray cabinet's is not.

Heating is by an element that brings the wash solution up to a 135F-175F working range. Hot solution is doing most of the work here: it thins the oil and grease so the spray can carry it away, and it is why parts come out dry within seconds of the door opening rather than needing to be blown off.

Water is moved by a 43 GPM pump at a 28 PSI output through adjustable stainless-steel nozzles aimed around the chamber, so the spray reaches parts on the turntable, hanging from the tree rack and sitting in the parts basket at the same time.

One figure to confirm before you order. The feature list for this cabinet states 19 adjustable steel nozzles, while the descriptive copy states 22 high-pressure spray jets. Those are different counts of what appears to be the same thing, and we are not going to quietly print whichever sounds better. If the nozzle count matters to your decision, ask us and we will confirm the current configuration with the manufacturer.

The 60-minute timer is the feature that pays for the machine

The cycle timer runs to 60 minutes with automatic shut-off, and it is worth understanding why that matters commercially rather than technically. A washer that has to be watched occupies a technician. A washer that shuts itself off does not. Load it, set the timer, go and do the next job, come back to clean parts.

A stainless-steel skimming disc is included as standard and runs continuously, pulling floating oil off the surface of the wash solution.

Built to be stood next to for years

The cabinet is fabricated from heavy-duty 12-gauge steel, strengthened for durability, then finished with an industrial two-step primer and polyurethane coating inside, with a powder-coat finish on the exterior. The door is gasket-free — a small detail with a large maintenance consequence, because a door gasket on a hot-water cabinet is a wear item that hardens, tears and leaks, and a design without one has nothing to replace.

Will It Fit?

Check three things against your shop before you order.

  • Footprint and headroom. Overall dimensions are 44 3/8" L x 44 1/8" W x 78" H. That last figure is the one that catches people — the cabinet is over six feet tall, so measure the doorway it has to pass through as well as the corner it will live in, and allow clearance above for the door and the lid.
  • What actually fits inside. Inside height is 54", inside width is 32", and the turntable is 30" in diameter with a 1,000 lb load capacity. Measure your largest regular part against the turntable diameter first — that, not the cabinet size, is the real limit.
  • Power. 220volt, single phase, with a 30 Amp breaker required, driving a 3HP motor. That is a dedicated circuit and an electrician's job, and it is worth pricing at the same time as the cabinet.

Floor, water and drainage are the customer's responsibility. The machine holds a 50 gallon tank of heated solution and ships at 800 lbs, so it needs flat, sound concrete that can carry that load in one spot, and it needs to be sited where filling and eventually draining the tank is practical. Check your local rules on discharging wash water before you commission it — they vary by municipality and they are not something a product page can answer for you.

Perfect For

  • Engine and transmission rebuilders — the case this cabinet is built for. Crane-in loading and a 1,000 lb turntable mean complete assemblies go in whole.
  • General repair shops doing heads, manifolds, brackets, housings and suspension components in batches rather than one at a time.
  • Fleet and municipal workshops, where a timer that lets a washer run unattended converts directly into technician hours.
  • Any shop trying to get out of solvent — hot water and biodegradable detergent removes a storage, handling and disposal problem.
  • Machine and fabrication shops cleaning heavy, awkward parts that will not lift onto a benchtop washer.

Certification, stated honestly

The manufacturer data we hold for this cabinet does not include any third-party safety, electrical or environmental listing, and we are not going to print a mark we cannot evidence. That is a statement about the documents we have been given, not a claim about how the machine is built or wired.

It is worth asking about if you are buying into a regulated process. Commercial insurers, government and fleet purchasing rules, and some workplace safety programs require independently listed equipment and want the certificate rather than the brochure. If any of that applies to you, ask us before you order and we will request the current documentation from the manufacturer instead of guessing on your behalf.

Shipping and delivery

This cabinet ships as freight within the lower 48. Freight is calculated live at checkout for the address you enter, so the figure shown is a current rate.

Plan the unload. At 800 lbs crated and over six feet tall, this is a forklift job coming off the trailer, and it is top-heavy once it is upright. If you have no forklift and no operator, take terminal pickup and collect it with your own equipment. Residential delivery is available and carries a residential fee, so declare a home address at checkout and the shipment goes out on the correct service the first time.

Inspect before you sign. Look for crush damage, punctures and shifted banding, check the accessory cartons for the tree rack, basket and skimmer against the packing list, and write anything you find onto the bill of lading in front of the driver. A clean signature is the carrier's evidence that everything arrived intact; a claim raised afterwards is a much weaker case.

Warranty

The cabinet carries a 1 yr limited parts only warranty. Parts only means the covered component is supplied, while labor, freight and any equipment needed to fit it are the owner's cost.

The rule that protects a claim on a heated, pumped machine: do not disassemble a component before the claim is approved. An opened pump, heater element or control assembly is generally treated as no longer inspectable, and a claim that would have been honored can be refused on that basis alone. Photograph the fault, note the symptoms and what the machine was doing, call us, and let the claim be opened before anything comes apart.
