-Topdon V2200Plus 2-in-1 Jump Pack & Battery Tester
Every jump start is a question left unanswered. The car goes, the customer drives away, and nobody knows whether the battery was flat because it is finished, because something drained it overnight, or because the alternator stopped charging three weeks ago. The V2200Plus is a 2-in-1 tool built to close that loop: it jumps the vehicle, and then it tells you why the vehicle needed jumping.
A Bluetooth module inside the pack pairs with an app to run battery, cranking and charging tests on a 12V system, and it stores the results permanently. That is the whole argument for this unit over a jump pack that only jumps — the difference between getting someone moving and actually fixing their morning.
What the app actually tells you
Three tests, and each answers a different question.
The battery test reports voltage, state of health and state of charge, and compares measured cold cranking amps against the battery's rated CCA. That is what tells you whether a battery is genuinely near the end or simply flat.
The cranking test monitors cranking time and cranking voltage — how far the voltage collapses while the starter is pulling, and for how long. A battery that reads fine at rest and falls off a cliff under load is a battery about to strand somebody, and only a cranking test shows it.
The charging test looks at the other end of the circuit: whether the alternator and regulator are actually replacing what the starter took. This is the test that stops a good battery being replaced for an alternator's fault, which is the most common expensive mistake in this whole area.
There is also a real-time voltmeter mode that graphs charging, discharging and starting voltage as it changes, and every result is stored so you can produce it later for a customer, a fleet file or a warranty claim.
Jumping: what it is rated for
Peak current is 2200A, with a 500A 2S rating, drawn from a 16000 mAh pack at 3.7V giving 59.2Wh. Topdon rates it for 8L gas and 6L diesel engines and 35 jumps on a full charge, which puts it comfortably across passenger cars, pickups and vans.
The boost function handles the case a normal jump starter refuses: a battery reading zero volts, where there is nothing for the tool to detect and a standard pack simply will not engage. Press and hold BOOST for 1 second, then start the vehicle within the next 30 seconds.
The clamp leads are 200mm, or 7.9 in. Short leads waste less voltage between the pack and the terminals, which is where cranking current is won, but they do mean the unit sits on or beside the battery rather than on the ground. Worth knowing on a vehicle with the battery in the boot or under a seat.
Charging everything else
The Type-C port is bidirectional at PD60W, stepping through 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V and 20V at 3A. Two USB ports run QC18W at 12V/1.5A, 9V/2A and 5V/3A, and there is a DC output rated at a maximum of 16.8V and 10A.
PD60W in both directions is the specification that matters most for ownership. Charging in at that rate is what keeps a jump pack from becoming a flat brick in a drawer — it refills from the same charger as a modern laptop. Charging out at that rate is what lets it run a laptop rather than only a phone, alongside tablets, cameras, speakers and tyre inflators.
Safety, and how it is built
Six protections cover reverse connection, reverse charging, short circuits, over currents, over temperatures and over discharges. The reverse-connection and short-circuit entries are the ones that earn their place: the pack guards against sparks from clamps touching, which is the accident that happens in the dark with cold hands.
The housing carries the drop, dust and water resistance of Topdon's JumpSurge line, which is what makes this a tool that lives in a vehicle rather than one that lives on a shelf.
Size and weight
The unit measures 267 by 157 by 106mm, or 10.5 by 6.2 by 4.2 in, and weighs 1460g — 51.5 oz. Read that as a deliberate trade: it is heavier than a pocket booster because it holds a bigger cell and a tester, and it is still a thing you carry in one hand to a car in a car park.
Perfect For
- Mobile technicians and roadside assistance, where the job is to jump the car and tell the customer what to do next.
- Independent workshops wanting a battery diagnosis that can be produced later rather than remembered.
- Fleet and van operators tracking battery health across vehicles instead of replacing on failure.
- Used car dealers checking the starting and charging system of stock that has been standing.
- Drivers who want more than a rescue — a pack that also answers whether it will happen again next week.
What's in the Box
The unit and its clamp leads, at the length quoted above. The listing data does not itemise cables, cases or accessories beyond that, so this page does not claim them. The companion app is a free download rather than something in the carton. Ask us and we will confirm the current packing list before you order.

Certification and compliance
No third-party safety listing is named in the data we hold for this unit, and this page will not imply one it cannot evidence. That is worth saying rather than leaving blank, because lithium packs are a category where a workplace, a fleet policy or an insurer may require named documentation before a tool is carried in a company vehicle. Tell us what your policy asks for and we will obtain the current manufacturer paperwork before you order.
Shipping and delivery
Ships as a parcel-sized item to addresses in the lower 48 states, or collect from the warehouse. Cost is calculated for your address at checkout rather than printed here, because carrier rates move. Lithium cells travel under carrier rules, so keep the packaging until the unit has been checked over, and record any damage on the delivery paperwork at the time rather than after.
Warranty
Terms and the claim process are on our warranty claims page. If the unit fails, contact us before opening the housing or cutting a lead. A sealed lithium product that has been opened cannot be assessed by anyone, and on this class of product dismantling it turns a warranty question into a safety one.
