One sensor part number instead of two — the 2-in-1 metal-stem pack, twenty-four deep
The reason a tyre shop ends up with a wall of TPMS sensors is that the vehicle parc runs on two broadcast bands. Stock for both and you carry two lines of inventory, two sets of part numbers and two chances of reaching for the wrong one at eight in the morning. A 2-in-1 sensor removes that problem at the source: the same physical sensor is programmed to the band the vehicle needs, so one bin covers both. This listing is the configuration that matters for a working bay — silver metal stems, twenty-four of them, supplied alongside Ranger's TruSensor TS58R programming and diagnostic tool.
Getting the configuration right is most of the buying decision on this family of listings, because the tool is common to all of them and only the sensor pack changes. Metal stems, which is what you have here, are the choice for alloy wheels, for customers who want the valve to match the wheel, and for vehicles where the valve is exposed to salt and wash chemicals. Rubber snap-in stems are the cheaper, more forgiving option and are sold as a separate pack. Count is the other half: twenty-four sensors is six vehicles' worth, which is the sensible opening stock for a shop that fits TPMS regularly rather than occasionally.
What the tool does, in the order you will use it
The TS58R is a handheld unit that covers the whole TPMS job rather than one step of it, and it works either wirelessly at the wheel or through the vehicle's diagnostic port.
Read first. Hold it at the wheel and it reports sensor ID, tyre pressure, tyre temperature, broadcast frequency, battery condition and wheel position. That single read answers the question that actually walks into the shop — is this a dead sensor, a flat tyre or a relearn that never completed — before anything is dismounted.
Then programme. New sensors can be written four ways: copied by activating the old sensor, entered by hand, auto-created (up to five identities at once, which is how you prep a set on the bench), or copied through the diagnostic port. The alternatives around it are all there too — duplicate an ID, change a sensor's position, modify an ID — which is what turns a rotation or a set of winter wheels into a two-minute job.
Then relearn. Three routes are supported: through the diagnostic port, automatic, and stationary. Which one a vehicle wants is not a choice, it is a manufacturer procedure, and the tool walks it on screen step by step. Connected to the port it also reads and clears TPMS fault codes and resets the warning lamp, so the car leaves with a dark dash rather than a note on the invoice.
Check the screen size if it matters to you
Published descriptions of the display differ. The manufacturer's feature list carried on this page calls it a 4.3″ colour touch screen in one line, and a 3″ TFT colour display at 320 x 240 elsewhere on the same list. Those are not the same screen, and both are reproduced here exactly as supplied. If the screen size is material to your purchase, confirm it with us before you order — we will check it against Ranger's current factory sheet.
The same list also states that the kit "includes 12 or 24 metal sensors". That wording is boilerplate written to cover more than one pack size. This listing is the twenty-four-sensor configuration — if you want the smaller pack, it is a different listing, and we would rather you knew that from the description than discovered it from the carton.
Coverage, as the manufacturer states it
Ranger's own claims for the tool are that it activates, diagnoses and reads 100% of OE and aftermarket TPMS sensors, and that vehicle coverage runs to 98% across domestic, Asian and European makes. Those are the manufacturer's figures rather than ours, and they are worth reading precisely: sensor coverage and vehicle coverage are different measurements, and the second is the one that decides whether a particular car in your bay is supported. If you work on a specific unusual make in volume, send us the make and model years and we will check them against the current coverage list before you order.
Perfect For
- Tyre shops and fast-fit bays fitting TPMS every day, where the stock simplification of one sensor across both bands is worth more than the tool itself.
- General repair shops that need to diagnose a TPMS lamp properly instead of guessing, and to clear the code once the fault is fixed.
- Seasonal wheel-and-tyre operations — copying IDs and changing sensor positions is exactly the winter-wheel workflow.
- Mobile technicians, because the whole kit is cased and the tool runs on its own battery.
What's in the Box
Taken from the description supplied with this product, the kit comprises a carrying case with protective foam inserts, four metal stem sensors, four snap-in rubber stem sensors, a USB interface cable, a diagnostic-port cable for direct access to the vehicle's control module, and a power cord — plus the pack of twenty-four metal sensors this listing is named for. Nothing beyond that list is confirmed as included, so if you need a service kit, replacement cores or a second charging lead, treat them as separate purchases and ask us.

Certification, stated honestly
The product data we hold for this kit makes no third-party certification or approval claim, and we will not imply one on its behalf. If your workshop accreditation, your insurer or a fleet contract requires diagnostic equipment to hold a specific independent approval, verify that requirement against the manufacturer's documentation before you buy — ask us and we will put the question to Ranger in writing rather than guess at an answer here.
Shipping and delivery
Shipping is quoted live at checkout against your own address, so the cost is on screen before you commit. A kit of this size normally travels as a parcel; larger items on the same order may be routed to a freight carrier instead, and a freight delivery is kerbside — you need to be able to receive it off the truck, or you can take collection from the carrier's local terminal, which many shops find simpler. Deliveries to a residential address carry an additional residential fee, charged once per brand on an order rather than per item. Whatever arrives, inspect it before you sign and write any damage onto the delivery paperwork at the time; a clean signature is very hard to argue with later. We ship within the contiguous United States.
Warranty
Ranger publishes one warranty document covering its product line and we hold a copy for this kit. We have not printed a term on this page because the data we hold does not state one, and inventing a warranty length for a product page is worse than leaving the figure out — ask us and we will send you the current document before you order. If the tool develops a fault, contact us before opening the case: a unit returned with its housing split or its battery removed is normally outside any claim, and a fault we can reproduce intact is a fault we can get resolved.
