Description
-Ranger TruSensor Universal 2-in-1 Sensors — Black Rubber, 12-Pack
A twelve-pack is a working quantity. It is enough to keep a bay supplied for a run of tyre jobs without committing to a case, which makes it the sensible starting point for a shop adding TPMS replacement to its menu, and the sensible restock for one that fits sensors steadily rather than constantly. The sensors are Ranger's universal TruSensor units on black rubber snap-in stems.
What makes them universal is that they are blank when they reach you. Rather than being manufactured to broadcast on one frequency for one list of vehicles, each sensor is written to the car at the moment it is fitted, using a TPMS programming tool. That is the 2-in-1 part: 315 MHz and 433 MHz served by a single item on your shelf.
The rubber snap-in stem, and when it is the right call
A snap-in stem is drawn through the valve hole from inside the rim and holds itself by compression of its own body. Three things follow from that, and they are the reason this is the default stem style in most tyre bays.
It is quick, and it is forgiving. There is no torque figure to hit, no nut to over-tighten and no grommet to distort, so the fitting is consistent across technicians of different experience. It is electrically quiet in an alloy wheel: because the stem body is rubber, there is no dissimilar-metal contact at the rim and therefore none of the galvanic corrosion that can seize a metal stem into an alloy wheel in a salted climate. And it is what your existing tooling and technique already suit, so adopting it changes nothing about how the bay works.
The honest limitation is life. Rubber ages, hardens and takes a set, so the profession treats the stem as a service item renewed with the tyre rather than a permanent fitting. If a vehicle is specified with a clamp-in metal stem from the factory, or runs sustained high speeds or high inflation pressures, the metal-stem version of this sensor is the correct choice and we list that separately.
What a programmable sensor changes about your stockroom
The everyday cost of frequency-specific sensors is not the unit price. It is the coverage problem: you either carry many part numbers to be sure of having the right one, or you carry few and periodically cannot finish a car. A universal sensor removes the choice. One line covers both frequencies, so the sensor in your hand is always the correct sensor for whatever is on the ramp, and the job finishes today rather than when the courier arrives tomorrow.
Before you order — what the published specification on this page is actually describing
This is worth thirty seconds of your time. The specification figures on this listing — display, battery, input, operating and storage temperature, dimensions and weight — belong to the TS58R TruSensor programming tool. They are not sensor specifications. They arrived with the manufacturer's copy, and we have left them on the page with a label rather than deleting a figure the manufacturer published.
The practical consequence is simple: a programming tool is not included in this pack. This listing is sensors and a quantity. The programmer is sold separately, and there is also a combined kit that pairs the two. If you already own a TPMS programmer from another maker, check with us that it writes this sensor's protocol before ordering, because a sensor you cannot write is a sensor you cannot fit.

Published by Ranger on this page, reproduced unchanged and labelled for what it describes.
The tool side, for context
So the picture is complete, and stated as background rather than as pack contents: a TruSensor programmer activates, diagnoses and reads 100% of OE and aftermarket TPMS sensors, carries 98% vehicle coverage across domestic, Asian and European platforms, and can write a new sensor by copying from the old one, by typed entry, by generating new IDs, or by reading what the vehicle's control module already expects. It also handles the routine housekeeping — sensor position change after a rotation, and reading and clearing TPMS codes so the dash light actually goes out.
Perfect For
- Independent workshops adding TPMS replacement and wanting a working quantity rather than a case commitment.
- Single-bay and two-bay tyre shops with steady rather than continuous sensor turnover.
- Mobile fitters stocking a van, where twelve sensors is a sensible on-board holding.
- Restorers and enthusiast garages building a second set of wheels that needs its own sensors.
What's in the Box
A pack of 12 Ranger TruSensor universal 2-in-1 sensors on black rubber stems. Nothing on this listing describes a programming tool, a case, cables or valve service kits, so please do not assume they are part of it. If you want an itemised pack list — including whether caps and cores are supplied — ask us and we will obtain it from Ranger in writing before you commit.
Approvals and radio conformity, stated straight
No third-party approval or conformity claim is made for these sensors anywhere in the data behind this listing, and this page will not manufacture one. Worth knowing why it can matter: a TPMS sensor is a small radio transmitter attached to a road vehicle, and the rules covering that are set nationally, so approval in one market says nothing about another. If you are fitting outside the United States, or a fleet operator or insurer requires documented conformity for parts fitted to its vehicles, tell us precisely what evidence you need and we will go and ask for it.
Shipping and delivery
Delivery covers the lower 48 states and the cost is quoted live at the checkout against the address you type in, so it is the rate that applies today. A pack this size normally goes as a parcel; should any part of an order travel as freight, the carrier will contact you to agree a window, somebody must be available to take it off the truck, and collecting from the freight terminal is always an option. Deliveries to residential addresses carry a residential fee. Please open and check the shipment against the paperwork before signing, and write any damage or shortage onto the delivery receipt while the driver is present. You can also collect from the pickup locations listed further down this page.
Warranty
Ranger's written product warranty covers these sensors and we will send you the applicable document on request. No term appears in the data behind this listing, so none is stated here — ask us and we will confirm it in writing instead. Two practical points specific to sensors: retain the pack identification until the set is fitted and confirmed working, and do not open, re-stem or modify a sensor you might want to claim on, because reworking a part takes it outside the warranty.
