Description
-LANAIR XTD200 Waste Oil Heater Value Package 4
Please note: this package is configured for a wall-mount vent.
Two decisions separate this package from the others built on the same heater, and both are about the building rather than the machine. The first is that it vents through a wall instead of the roof. The second is the 215 gallon waste oil reservoir supplied with it — enough storage that a shop collecting drain oil steadily is refilling on its own schedule rather than nursing the burner through a cold week. If your roof is leased, membrane-covered, structurally awkward or simply something you would rather not cut, this is the version of the XTD200 written for you.
The heater itself is the ductable member of the range. Its cabinet is quoted as height by width by depth — 24" x 40.5" x 56" — which is a deeper, lower body than the open-space XT cabinets, and the chimney can leave from the top or the left side. Rated at 200,000 BTUH across roughly 5,000 square feet at a fuel input of 1.44 GPH, it suits medium industrial and commercial floors: repair shops, fabrication bays, parts and dispatch buildings, agricultural workshops.
Will It Fit?
Work through this list against the actual building before ordering, not after the crate arrives.
- Cabinet envelope. 24" x 40.5" x 56" (H x W x D). Note the depth — this is the dimension people misjudge when they plan a position against a wall or under a mezzanine.
- Wall penetration. The vent kit in this package is the wall-mount configuration and uses 6" Class A pipe. The wall you choose has to allow a compliant penetration with the correct clearances, and the outside of it has to be somewhere the flue terminates safely.
- Power. A 120V, 60 Hz supply at 20 amps, on a dedicated circuit.
- Compressed air. 2 CFM at 12-15 PSI, available continuously while the burner runs.
- Tank siting. The 215 gallon reservoir needs a level, accessible position with containment appropriate to your local rules, and a route for the pump line to the heater.
Clearances to combustible materials, the wall penetration detail, containment for stored oil, the structural point the heater hangs from and any permit or inspection required where you trade are all the buyer's responsibility. We can supply the manufacturer's documentation; the installation approval is between you, your installer and your inspector.
Why storage capacity is a heating specification, not an accessory
It is tempting to treat the tank as a container that came with the heater. In practice, reservoir size sets how the system behaves across a season. A burner rated at 1.44 GPH consumes at a predictable rate whenever it is firing, and your shop produces used oil at a rate governed by how many vehicles come through — two curves that do not line up week to week. Storage is what absorbs the difference. Undersize it and somebody is topping the tank up in the middle of a cold snap, or worse, the burner is idle while drums of usable fuel sit in the yard waiting for space. Specifying the 215 gallon tank alongside the heater is the difference between a heating system and a heater.
Ductable, and what that is worth
The D in this model is the one that matters if your floor is not a single open volume. A fan-driven heater warms what it can reach; ducting moves that heat into areas it cannot see — a partitioned parts store, a paint prep space, an office block built into the corner of a shop. The XTD200 supports a ducted installation and can exit its chimney from the top or the left side, which gives an installer two ways to route around whatever is already in the ceiling. If you are heating one open bay, you can ignore all of this and the unit will still do the job. If you are not, this is the capability you are buying.
Underneath the fuel plumbing is a 12 gauge cold-rolled steel combustion chamber, a hinged chamber door for clean-out access and a large side panel that opens onto the collector box. That access is what keeps the routine ash and carbon removal a short job rather than an afternoon.
Perfect For
- Buildings where the roof is off limits — leased premises, membrane roofs, structures where a roof penetration is a permitting problem.
- Shops of around 5,000 square feet with more than one space to heat.
- Operations with real waste oil volume that have been storing it in drums and want a proper reservoir.
- Fleet and municipal workshops where disposal paperwork and disposal cost are both problems worth deleting.
What's in the Box
- Lanair XTD200 waste oil heater
- 215 gallon waste oil storage tank
- Wall-mount vent kit, 6" Class A
Fitting materials beyond the supplied kit, oil line runs and any building work are project-specific. If you are unsure whether this configuration matches your wall and your tank position, send us the details before you order — swapping a vent configuration after delivery is not a five-minute change.

Approvals and local code
The specification data behind this listing does not state a third-party safety listing for the unit. That is worth knowing rather than glossing over, because a manufacturer's own declaration against a standard and an independent testing laboratory's listing of the finished product are different documents with different weight. Oil-fired appliances and their flues are governed by local mechanical and fire codes, and both insurers and fleet safety policies frequently ask for the independent listing by name before an installation is signed off. If that applies to you, ask us for the current documentation on this model and settle the question before you place the order.
Shipping and Delivery
This package ships freight to the lower 48 states, priced live at checkout for your delivery address. It is a multi-piece shipment — heater, tank and vent components — so check the piece count against the paperwork as it comes off the trailer, not the following morning. Unloading is the receiver's job: have a forklift and someone to run it, or choose terminal pickup and bring your own equipment. Residential delivery is available for an additional fee. Note any damage or shortage on the bill of lading before you sign it; a clean signature is very hard to argue with afterwards.
Warranty
Manufacturer's warranty applies, with the current terms and the claim procedure set out on our warranty claims page. If a fault appears, open the claim before anything comes apart. Stripping the burner or the chamber first is the most frequent reason a genuine claim stalls, because the evidence of what failed goes with it. Photograph the installation as found, note the reading on the hour meter, and speak to us first.
