LANAIR XTD200 Waste Oil Heater Value Package 2

Nobody buys a waste oil heater for its access panels, and then spends the next decade dealing with them. Combustion of used fluid leaves ash and carbon behind, the chamber gets scraped out on a schedule, and the difference between a heater somebody maintains and a heater somebody avoids is almost entirely how awkward that job is. The XTD200 is arranged around that fact: a chamber door on hinges instead of bolts, and a large side panel that opens directly onto the collector box, which is where the residue actually ends up. Nothing has to come off the wall and nothing has to be lifted down to service it.

The heater burns 100% used synthetic oil as well as used crankcase oil up to 50 weight, used automatic transmission fluid and #1 and #2 fuel oil, and it is the ductable cabinet in Lanair's line — 200,000 BTUH across about 5,000 square feet at 1.44 GPH. This package adds the complete chimney kit specified for a 16-foot eave.

The service hardware, item by item

Four features on this unit exist purely to make the machine survivable in daily use, and each one answers a specific complaint people have about older waste oil equipment.

  • A removable burner assembly. The burner comes out to be worked on rather than being serviced overhead at arm's length, which is how a nozzle change stops being a two-person job.
  • An hour meter. Maintenance on this kind of appliance is interval-based, and without a meter the interval is a guess. With one you can service on hours run rather than on whether anyone remembers last winter.
  • A prime switch. Priming the fuel line becomes a control on the unit rather than an improvised procedure.
  • A noncontinuous spark transformer. The ignition circuit stops once flame is established instead of running the whole time the burner fires — less wear on the transformer and the electrodes.

Will It Fit?

  • Cabinet. 24" x 40.5" x 56" (H x W x D). It is a deep cabinet; measure the depth against the position you have in mind rather than assuming.
  • Suspension. Hanging weight is 523 lbs. Get the structural capacity of the mounting point confirmed by someone qualified to sign it off.
  • Service clearance. Given everything above, leave room for the hinged door to open fully and for the side panel to be removed. A unit hung tight into a corner has all the service features and none of the benefit.
  • Flue. 6" Class A, leaving from the top or the left side of the cabinet.
  • Services. 120V at 20 amps on a dedicated circuit, plus 2 CFM of compressed air at 12-15 PSI whenever the burner is running.

Clearances to combustibles, the flue route and its penetration, the structural assessment, fuel storage arrangements and any permit or inspection your jurisdiction requires are the buyer's responsibility. We can provide manufacturer documentation; we cannot approve an installation.

Ducting from a maintenance point of view

The ductable cabinet is usually sold on comfort — heat reaching a partitioned room the fan cannot see. There is a second argument for it that gets less attention. A ducted installation lets you put the heater where it can be serviced, rather than where the heat is needed. If the only warm-enough position for a non-ducted unit is over a workbench in the middle of the floor, that is also where a technician will be standing on a platform with an open chamber door. Being able to hang the machine somewhere sensible and move the air instead is worth as much on maintenance day as it is in January.

The chimney kit supplied

Specified for a 16-foot eave, and complete rather than partial:

Part Count
Chimney cap 1
Black tee pipe with cap 1
Black pipe, 24" 4
Slip connector, 14" 1
Elbow, 90° 1
Class A chimney pipe, 36" 1
Class A chimney pipe, 24" 1
Roof support bracket 1
Storm collar 1
Finishing collar 1
Roof flashing, 0/12 to 6/12 pitch 1

The tee with its cap is worth calling out, because people mistake it for a plain fitting. It is the cleaning access into the flue, and a flue on a waste oil appliance is something you will want access to. Note also that the black pipe and the Class A pipe do different jobs — single-wall connector inside the heated space, insulated Class A where the flue passes through the structure — and are not substitutes for one another.

Perfect For

  • Shops that intend to run the heater hard and know maintenance access decides whether it lasts.
  • Workshops of roughly 5,000 square feet, especially ones with a partition to heat past.
  • Businesses collecting synthetic drainings that an older burner will not accept.
  • Sites with one qualified person doing the servicing, where a removable burner and an hour meter are the difference between scheduled and reactive work.

What's in the Box

  • Lanair XTD200 waste oil heater
  • Chimney kit as itemised above, sized for a 16-foot eave

Storage tank, transfer pump and oil line runs are site-specific and are not part of this package. Ask us to check the list against your installation before you order if there is any doubt — a missing collar stops a job as effectively as a missing heater.

Approvals and your inspector

The specification data behind this listing does not state an independent safety listing for the unit. It is a distinction worth making rather than skating over: a manufacturer's declaration that a product meets a standard and an independent testing laboratory's listing of that product are different documents, and an inspector, an insurer or a fleet safety policy may well be asking for the second one specifically. Oil-fired appliances and their flues sit squarely inside local mechanical and fire codes. If a listing is a condition of your permit or your cover, ask us for the current documentation on this model and get the requirement confirmed before you commit.

Shipping and Delivery

Freight to the lower 48 states, quoted live at checkout for your address. The current listing states a processing window of 5-7 business days before the package ships; that is order processing rather than transit, and we do not promise a delivery date. When the truck arrives the piece count is yours to verify against the paperwork, and unloading is yours to arrange — a forklift and an operator, or terminal pickup with your own equipment. Residential delivery is available for an added fee. Note any damage or shortage on the bill of lading before signing it.

Warranty

Manufacturer's warranty applies; the current terms and how to make a claim are on our warranty claims page. Given how accessible this unit is, there is a particular temptation here to open it up and investigate a fault yourself. Resist it until the claim is logged. A dismantled burner is very hard to assess and taking it apart first is the most common reason a valid claim drags on. Photograph what you find, note the hours from the meter, and contact us before you start.
