Schulz SRP 3008 Compact — 7.5 HP Rotary Screw, 373 lbs, 35" × 18" × 42"

Two things make this the easiest machine in the Schulz screw range to plan an installation around. The first is that it is genuinely small: 35" long, 18" deep, 42" high and 373 lbs, which is a compressor you can get through an ordinary doorway, along a corridor and into a back room without hiring anything. The second is quieter but arguably more useful — this is the one listing in the range whose dimensions agree across every field of its product data. The description and the specification block give the same three numbers. Several of its siblings do not, and on those we have to tell buyers to confirm before planning a tight fit. Here you can measure and commit.

Inside that frame is an oil-injected rotary screw air end delivering 25 CFM at 125 PSI on a continuous 100% duty cycle, driven by a 7.5 HP motor and mounted directly on its own 60-gallon horizontal ASME receiver in an open 2-in-1 layout. This listing is the 460 Volt three-phase build.

Small, and continuous — an unusual combination

Compressors of this physical size are almost always piston machines, and piston machines come with a duty cycle. They are rated to run for part of each hour and to stand idle for the remainder, so the airflow number on the badge is a peak rather than a supply. Push past it and you are simply spending the machine's life early.

A screw air end has no reciprocating mass and no valve train hammering itself apart, and this one carries no rest requirement at all. Its 25 CFM at 125 PSI is available every minute of every hour. When you compare it against the small piston compressor it would replace, compare it against that machine's usable output rather than its badge — the honest comparison is usually much closer than the specification sheets suggest, and frequently the other way round.

Open frame, and the noise question answered honestly

There is no acoustic cabinet on this model, and that is the trade you make for the size and the weight. What you get in return is complete access — belts, cooler, oil sight glass, drain and electrical panel are all in front of you rather than behind removable panels — and unrestricted cooling airflow, which matters on a machine likely to end up in a small, warm space.

What you accept is that it will be heard. The product data does carry a dBA value for this model, but it is stored as a bare number with no unit attached anywhere in the record, and we do not publish a figure whose unit the data has not established. If sound level is part of your decision, ask us and we will confirm the current published figure in writing, or point you at the cabinet models in the range instead.

Will It Fit?

Because the compressor is mounted on its own receiver, there is a single item to place, no separate tank to find room for, and no interconnecting pipework to have fabricated. The confirmed envelope is 35" × 18" × 42" at 373 lbs, with a 1/2" tank outlet.

Give it a flat, solid floor — even at this weight, a slab that dips under one foot will let the mounts work loose over time. Leave clear space around it: an open machine needs air moving over it more than an enclosed one does, not less.

The supply is 460 Volt three-phase. One thing to note about this particular listing: unlike its siblings, the product record carries no amp draw and no recommended breaker field at all — not even the "consult a certified electrician" note the other models show. So there is nothing here for us to quote, and we will not estimate one. Have a certified electrician determine the circuit for your run length and your local code, and confirm the supply and panel capacity before you order. That verification is the customer's responsibility.

Control and protection

A 24 Volt microprocessor controller runs the machine, with adjustable operating parameters and a constant readout of what it is doing — the reason a fault on one of these is usually something you read rather than something you infer. The automatic starter includes phase and sequence failure detection, which on a three-phase screw is a genuine safeguard: crossed phases turn the air end backwards, and a reversed screw unit can be destroyed in seconds. The starter refuses the start instead. An air filter is fitted.

Perfect For

  • Tight spaces and back rooms — this is the model that fits where the others will not.
  • Upstairs, through-corridor or awkward-access installations, thanks to the weight.
  • Small shops on 460 Volt three-phase needing continuous rather than intermittent air.
  • Buyers planning a precise installation who need dimensions they can rely on.
  • Plant rooms and rear workshops where an open machine's noise is not a problem.

What's in the Box

One factory-assembled unit: the rotary screw air end, the TEFC IP55 electric motor, the automatic starter with phase and sequence failure detection, the 24 Volt microprocessor controller, an air filter, the 60-gallon horizontal ASME receiver it is mounted on, an oil sight glass and a 1/2" tank outlet.

Not fitted: the record shows no after-cooler, no air dryer, no electronic drain valve and no pump low-oil shut-off on this model. Air treatment, drainage, pipework and the electrical connection are separate.

Certification, without the gloss

The receiver is ASME certified: the pressure vessel has been built and stamped to a recognised code. That is the claim the product data supports, and on a tank held at 125 PSI in an occupied space it is the one worth having.

Nothing in the data records an independent third-party listing for the machine as a finished assembly — motor, starter, controller and frame evaluated together as a single product. A tank stamp is a different document and does not substitute for one, and we are not going to let a reader assume it does. Insurers, corporate facilities standards and some local electrical inspectors ask specifically for that listing on permanently wired equipment. If yours does, contact us before ordering and we will confirm in writing what documentation exists today.

Delivery

Sent as palletised freight to the lower 48 states, priced live at checkout for the address you enter rather than estimated from a chart.

Even at 373 lbs this is a freight shipment, not a parcel, and the carrier's obligation ends at the tailgate. A forklift or a dock makes it simple; a pallet jack works on flat, hard ground. Where a site has neither, terminal pickup lets you collect from the freight depot with your own transport. Deliveries to a home address are treated as residential and carry a residential fee. You can also collect from our Schulz pickup point in Acworth, Georgia.

Inspect the pallet with the driver present and get any damage written onto the bill of lading before you sign. That written note is what a claim depends on afterwards.

Warranty

A 12-month warranty applies, listed in the specification block as 1 Year consumer and 1 Year commercial.

Please do not strip a faulty machine down before it has been seen. Once a screw air end is opened, the sequence of failure can no longer be established and the claim usually goes with it. Call, text or chat with us on 866-774-7743, describe what it is doing, and let it be assessed as a whole unit.
