Supreme SP-85P 8,500 lb 4 Post Parking Lift

A four-post storage lift that runs on a household circuit — and rolls when you want the floor back

Most four-post parking lifts arrive with two assumptions attached: that you have a high-voltage circuit to feed them, and that wherever you bolt them down is where they stay. The Supreme SP-85P does neither. Its power unit is a 3HP hydraulic pump running on 110VAC, 60HZ, single phase — ordinary garage wall power — and a caster kit is part of the package, so the lift can be put on wheels and moved.

Underneath that it is a straightforward 8,500 lbs four-post: two cars stacked in one footprint, or one car up for an afternoon under the floorpan. It suits sedans, sports cars, wagons and lighter trucks and SUVs, and is aimed at the buyer who wants storage first and service second.

Will It Fit?

Four-post lifts are returned over measurements far more often than over capacity. Take these to the building before you order.

  • Ceiling. The structure stands 83.75" with nothing on it. To stack, the ceiling must clear that plus the roof height of whatever sits on the raised runways.
  • Working height. Lift height at the top of the runway is 71"; clearance under the runway is 68". The second number decides whether you stand up under a stored car or crouch.
  • Floor. Overall width 108". Runway length 157"; overall length 172.50" without approach ramps, 198.50" with them. Add walking room on one side.
  • Drive-through width. 92.5" between the carriages — a hard limit on vehicle width, and it catches dual-rear-wheel trucks more often than owners expect.
  • Runways. 18" wide, with 37.5" of open space between them.
  • Drive-on clearance. Fully lowered the runways sit 5" off the floor, which is what lets a low front splitter roll on over the ramps rather than scraping.
  • Power. One 110VAC, 60HZ, single-phase supply. Confirm the circuit and breaker with an electrician.
  • Anchoring. Each column sits on a 12" x 12" base plate that anchors into the slab.

Confirming ceiling height, floor dimensions, slab and electrical supply is the buyer's responsibility. A lift that will not fit the building is not a warranty matter, and freight both ways on a 1,600 lbs shipment is expensive. Send us your measurements if you are close on any figure.

Why the 110V power unit changes who can buy this lift

A 3HP pump on household voltage is less a compromise than a different decision about where the lift will live. Many home garages have no high-voltage circuit near the bay, and adding one means an electrician, a spare double-pole slot and a conduit run — often a bigger job than the lift installation. It matters just as much in rented premises where you cannot alter the electrical installation.

The trade is the expected one: a household-voltage pump moves less oil per second. Supreme rates the full cycle at roughly 40 seconds — unremarkable on a lift used a few times a day, irrelevant on one that spends most of its life holding a car in the air.

Single-point lock release, and ten places to stop

The locking ladders carry 10 positions, so the runways park at a height that suits the job rather than the nearest lock — knuckle height for exhaust work, chest height for a gearbox, top of travel for storage. On a four-post lift it is the locks, not the hydraulics, that hold the car; the cylinder's job ends when you settle onto the pawls.

Releasing them is a single-point action: one control disengages both sides together. Where releases are independent, the operator walks column to column pulling cables, and a pair released unevenly is how a runway ends up resting on one lock and off the other. One lever, both sides, from a spot where you can see the whole car, is a safety difference rather than a convenience.

The casters are the feature people underestimate

The included caster kit sounds like a footnote until the first time you need to seal or paint the floor the lift stands on — or until the layout you drew turns out to be wrong by a foot once a car is actually on it. It also makes the lift a realistic purchase for anyone who might move premises without writing the equipment off.

Jack tray inserts and drip trays are supplied too. The trays catch what a stored project car leaks onto whatever is parked below it — on a stacking lift that is not hypothetical — and the jack tray gives you somewhere to put a bridge jack if you add one later.

Perfect For

  • The home garage with one bay and two cars — stack the daily driver over the project, on house power.
  • The enthusiast doing their own work — 68" under the runway, 10 lock positions and a jack tray.
  • The small shop short of floor, not ceiling — storage that wheels aside when the bay is wanted.
  • Collectors and seasonal storage — drip trays and a stable structure suit cars that sit for months.

What's in the Box

Only what this product's listing states is included:

  • Four columns, two runways and the cross-bracing structure, powder-coated
  • 3HP hydraulic power unit, 110VAC
  • Approach ramps, caster kit, jack tray inserts and drip trays

A bridge jack is not listed as included. If you want one, ask before you order so it ships with the lift.

Two things this page does not tell you, and we would rather say so

There is no published concrete specification for this lift. The description says it must be anchored to concrete meeting or exceeding the structural requirements for thickness and compressive strength, but never states what those requirements are. That is a real gap on a lift this heavy, and inventing a figure would be worse than admitting it. Ask us for slab thickness and compressive strength before you pour, cut or anchor anything and we will get it from Supreme in writing.

Our records hold two different figures for the clearance under the runway. The 68" above is what this page and the factory specification sheet both give. A separate catalogue field records a lower figure for what reads as the same measurement, with no unit attached. We will not pick one for you or average them. If the clearance under a raised car is what your purchase turns on, confirm it with us in writing first.

Certification

This product's data makes no third-party safety-listing claim, and we will not imply one it does not make. North American lift safety listing is a specific, independently audited programme — not the same as a manufacturer's own declaration of conformity — and no statement of either is recorded against this lift. If your insurer, fleet policy, landlord or local inspection authority requires that listing, verify the requirement and ask us for documentation before you buy.

Shipping and Delivery

This lift ships as freight to the lower 48 states only, as a 1,600 lbs palletised shipment. Freight is quoted live at checkout for your address, because carrier rates move.

You must be able to receive it: a forklift, a dock, or enough hands and equipment to get a crated four-post lift off a truck — or take terminal pickup and collect it on a trailer. Residential delivery is available and carries a residential fee. A forklift or hoist is generally needed again during installation to stand the columns.

Inspect before you sign. Walk the pallet for crushed corners, bent column ends, punctured packaging and hydraulic weeping, and note any damage on the bill of lading before the driver leaves. A signed clean BOL is very hard to argue with afterwards.

Warranty

This lift is covered by Supreme's warranty. The specific terms for this model are not stated in the product data we hold, so we will not quote a length here — ask us and we will confirm it in writing, or see our warranty claims page.

House advice that applies to every lift we sell: if something fails, do not disassemble the component before you make the claim. A power unit or cylinder that has been opened is usually treated as tampered with, and cover that would have replaced it outright can end there. Photograph it and call us.
