Most lift listings give you a capacity and leave it there. This one publishes what the capacity was proved against: the SP-10CFX is tested to 115% of its rating dynamically and 150% statically. In plain terms, it was made to lift more than 10,000 lbs while moving, and to hold considerably more than that while standing still. A rated capacity is a manufacturer's promise; an overload test figure is the margin behind the promise, and knowing the margin is the difference between trusting a number and understanding it.
The rest of the specification supports a general service bay: a clear-floor asymmetric two-post lift with triple telescoping arms, a direct drive system, a single-point lock release, an overhead shutoff bar and a 3.0HP power unit on 220V / 60HZ / 1PH.
What that testing marking is, and what it is not
Those overload figures come with a European conformity marking. It is worth being exact about what that document is, because the wording on lift listings is often loose.
A European conformity marking is a manufacturer's own declaration that a product meets the relevant European directives. It is not a North American third-party lift safety listing, and it is not a substitute for one. The two are issued by different kinds of body under different rules — one is self-declared, the other is verified by an independent organisation that inspects and tests. Both can be entirely legitimate; they are simply not the same document.
This matters commercially, not philosophically. Some insurers will ask for the North American listing before they will cover a lift on a commercial policy. Many fleet and municipal procurement rules require it outright. Some local jurisdictions require it for an installation to pass inspection. If any of those apply to you, verify the requirement before you buy — ask us, and we will tell you exactly what documentation ships with this lift rather than let you find out at inspection. If none of them apply, which is the case for most home and independent shop buyers, the overload figures above are the useful part.
Getting under a low car, and reaching a long one
Two numbers do most of the work here. Lowered, the arm pads sit at 3.75" — low enough to slide under vehicles that a taller pad simply cannot reach without ramps or blocks. And the adjustable arm adapters give a 3.94" to 6" extension range on top of that, so once the pads are located you can bring each one up to a frame point that sits higher than its neighbours instead of shimming.
That adjustment matters more than it sounds on modern vehicles, where the four manufacturer lift points are frequently not in the same plane. The alternative to adapters with real travel is a stack of pucks and a technician's judgement, which is exactly how vehicles get damaged and, occasionally, dropped.
Asymmetric column geometry sets the vehicle further back between the posts, so the doors open past the columns rather than into them. Rubber door guards on the columns cover the rest — paint and trim protection at the one place a lift routinely marks a car.
Clear floor, and the overhead shutoff bar
A clear-floor design puts the hydraulic and equalisation connection in a baseplate on the floor rather than a beam across the top of the columns, so there is nothing above the vehicle at all. Nothing limits the height of what you raise, and a gantry, an engine hoist or a long-boom transmission jack can occupy the space over the roofline.
With no overhead beam, an overhead shutoff bar does the job the beam used to do incidentally: it stops the lift before a tall vehicle's roof reaches anything above it. It is a small component that prevents an expensive, embarrassing and entirely avoidable class of accident.
Safety locks engage in stepped increments as the carriages rise and hold the load mechanically, so a loss of hydraulic pressure does not become a descent. The manual release lowers the lift only when someone deliberately operates it, and it releases both columns from one point rather than requiring a hand on each.
Four numbers on this listing that do not agree
Our own records contradict themselves on this model in four places. We are printing all of them rather than quietly choosing, because every one of them is a fitment figure and getting a bay wrong is expensive.
- Maximum lifting height. This page's description says 70.75". Our specification table says 70.85". A tenth of an inch changes nothing practical, but it does mean one of the two is wrong.
- Overall width. The description says 134.75". The specification table says 134.65". Same size of discrepancy, same conclusion.
- Inside column spacing. This is the serious one. The description says 195", the specification table says 109.50", and the outside column measurement on both is 120.5" — so the 195" figure cannot be right, since the inside of the columns cannot be wider than the outside of them. Treat 195" as an error and confirm the real inside spacing with us before you plan a bay around it.
- Drive-through clearance. The description says 99.75"; the specification table says 99". If your widest regular vehicle is close to either figure, ask us first.
The figures that are consistent everywhere we hold them: the 10,000 lbs capacity, the 3.75" minimum pad height, the 141.25" overall height, the 120.5" outside column measurement, and the power unit specification.
Will it fit?
Ceiling: the columns stand 141.25" tall. Measure to the lowest obstruction in the bay — lights, door tracks, opener rails, heaters, sprinkler heads — not to the peak of the roof.
Width: plan around the 120.5" outside column measurement and confirm the inside spacing and drive-through with us, per the note above.
Power: 220V, single phase, 60HZ. Sizing the circuit, the disconnect and the wire run is the buyer's responsibility and is a job for a licensed electrician who has seen your panel.
Concrete: a two-post lift transfers its entire load into the slab through the anchors. The floor has to meet the manufacturer's specified thickness and compressive strength, be level, and be sound where every anchor lands — no cracks, no expansion joints, no patches. Confirming the slab and anchoring the lift correctly are the buyer's responsibility, and an unknown slab should be assessed before the lift is delivered rather than after.

Shipping weight is recorded as 1,367 lbs, arriving as two long columns plus a pallet of arms, adapters and the power unit — ask us to confirm the crated weight before delivery day if your unloading arrangement is tight. You must be able to take it off the truck: a forklift with the capacity and reach for a full-length column, a loading dock, or collection from the carrier's terminal, which is often the easiest route. Delivery to a residential address carries a residential fee, shown at checkout before you pay.
Inspect the shipment before you sign the delivery receipt. Bent column edges, damaged carriages, crushed cartons, cut banding, missing pallets — note every one of them on the receipt at the time of delivery and photograph them while the driver is still there. Once a clean receipt is signed, a freight damage claim becomes very hard to win.
Installation is professional work. Anchoring, plumb, level, cable or chain equalisation, arm and lock alignment, and a first load test all have to be right before a customer's vehicle goes anywhere near it.
Warranty
Warranty terms for this model are not stated in the specification we hold, and we would rather say that than print a term we cannot support. Whatever the term turns out to be, one rule applies: if a component fails, open the claim before you take it apart. A cylinder, power unit or lock assembly that reaches the manufacturer already disassembled is routinely refused, however correct the diagnosis was.
