QuickJack 5000TL Portable Car Lift
The 5000TL is the slim one. Each frame is 11" (278 mm) wide and stands 3" (76 mm) tall when fully collapsed, which is what decides whether a portable lift will actually slide under the car sitting in your garage. Rated at 5,000 lbs (2,268 kg) on frames of 70" (1,778 mm) weighing 78 lbs (35 kg) each, it is aimed at cars rather than trucks — and it is aimed particularly at cars that sit low.
That narrow, low profile is the buying reason. A wider or taller frame can be rated for more weight and still be useless to you if it will not fit beneath the rocker of a sports car or between the wheels of a tight single-car garage. This one is built around clearance first.
Will It Fit?
Ground clearance. 3" (76 mm) collapsed, frame only. With a 2" block fitted in the tray that becomes 3.5" (89 mm). If your car clears 3" under the sill, the bare frame goes under; if it clears 3.5", you can pre-load a block and save a step. This is the measurement worth taking with a tape before you order.
Lift point spread. The gap between the front and rear lifting blocks adjusts from 37" (940 mm) to 60" (1,524 mm). Measure between your car's front and rear factory jack points and confirm the figure sits inside that range. It is the customer's responsibility to check, and it cannot be worked around after the fact — a car whose jack points sit further apart than 60" (1,524 mm) needs a longer frame than this.
Floor space. Each frame is 11" (278 mm) wide and 70" (1,778 mm) long, so you need two narrow strips of flat, sound, level floor rather than a whole bay. In a garage where the car only just fits between a workbench and a wall, that 11" width is often the difference between a lift you can use and one you cannot.
Working height. Maximum lifting height is 24", with intermediate settings of 21" on a 2" block and 22" on a 3" block, and 26.75" reached with adapters and pin. Treat these as creeper and stool heights, not stand-up heights. Why a narrow frame is worth more than a bigger number
Portable lifts are almost always sold on capacity, and capacity is almost never the thing that stops someone using one. A 5,000 lbs (2,268 kg) rating comfortably covers the great majority of passenger cars, sports cars and small crossovers. What actually stops people is geometry: the frame is too tall to get under the car, too wide to sit inside the wheel track, or too long to store. At 11" (278 mm) wide and 3" (76 mm) tall the 5000TL attacks all three at once, and it does it without dropping below a rating that covers the cars it is meant for. If you are lifting a half-ton truck, buy a bigger model; if you are lifting cars in a tight space, this geometry is the feature.
Locks, lift time, and one-handed control
The lift is specified with automatic safety locks that engage as the frames rise. That matters because it changes what is holding the car while you work: at a lock position the load rests on steel, not on hydraulic pressure and a hose. Full rise takes about 30 seconds, and the control is designed for one-handed operation, which leaves your other hand free and your eyes on the blocks and sills where they belong during the lift.
The power unit weighs 15 lbs (7 kg) — light enough to carry in one hand to wherever the frames are, rather than being a bench-mounted fixture that dictates where the lift can be used.

The lifting-height rows above are given in inches only, on purpose. The millimetre column in our spec data disagrees with its own inch column on those particular rows, so rather than publish a converted figure we cannot stand behind, we have printed the inch measurements the manufacturer states and left the metric out. Every other metric figure on this page reconciles with its imperial pair. If you need the lifting heights in millimetres, ask us and we will confirm them against the manufacturer's sheet.
Certification, stated honestly
Our product data for the 5000TL records no third-party safety listing, and we are not going to suggest otherwise. Some insurers, fleet policies and local authorities require a vehicle lift used in a commercial setting to carry a recognised North American third-party lift safety listing — testing and listing by an independent body, which is a different document from any statement the manufacturer makes about its own product. If your insurer, your fleet policy or your local inspector imposes that requirement, check it against this model before buying. For private use in a home garage the question usually does not arise.
Shipping and Delivery
Ships as freight within the lower 48 states, with the cost quoted live at checkout from your delivery address instead of being estimated on this page. You need to be able to unload the shipment yourself or collect it from the carrier's terminal; delivery to a residential address carries a residential fee, shown at checkout when it applies. Inspect the shipment before signing and note any damage on the bill of lading at the point of delivery — a clean signature is extremely difficult to reopen afterwards, and photographs taken before the driver pulls away are worth the couple of minutes they take.
Warranty
Our product data does not state a warranty term for the 5000TL, so we are not going to quote one; the current terms are published on our warranty claims page. One rule applies whatever the term: do not take a cylinder, power unit or lock assembly apart before a claim has been opened and assessed.
