Katool KT-H100: a 10,000 lb two-post lift that stands about 110 inches

The number to look at first on this lift is not its capacity. It is its height. The KT-H100 uses a base-plate layout — the equalisation runs sit in a shallow plate bolted across the floor between the columns, with nothing spanning the top — and the result is a two-post lift whose columns stand about 110 inches, 110.25" (2,800 mm) on the specification sheet. That is what makes it installable in a building where a lift with an overhead assembly simply will not go: a home garage with a finished ceiling, a unit with a sectional door track, a shop with a sprinkler run or a low header over the bay.

What that height buys, you pay for on the floor: the base plate is a low ramp across the bay that a creeper, a drain pan and a transmission jack all have to cross. If your ceiling is generous, a clear-floor lift is nicer to work around; if your ceiling is the constraint, this is the layout that works at all. Above the plate the KT-H100 is a conventional 10,000 lbs (4,500 KG) symmetric lift with dual hydraulic chain-drive cylinders and a manual safety release on both columns.

Will It Fit?

Six things decide it and every one is the buyer's to confirm before the truck arrives. We cannot see your building, your slab or your electrical panel.

• Ceiling. The lift stands about 110 inches — 110.25" (2,800 mm) — but that only tells you whether the columns fit. What governs your roof is the height of the tallest vehicle you intend to raise plus the rise you want under it.
• Floor width. 142 inches overall, listed as 142.25" (3,614 mm), with 128" (3,250 mm) across the outside of the columns and 110.25" (2,800 mm) between their inside faces. The inside figure is your working room; the outside figure has to fit the bay, with space to walk beyond it.
• Drive-through. 94.5" (2,400 mm) between the columns. That, not the capacity, is what stops a wide vehicle.
• Concrete. Minimum 5.9 inches thick at a compressive strength of at least 3,000 psi, level and unbroken under the anchor pattern — no expansion joint, no crack, no patch. Confirming the slab is the owner's responsibility and it is the most common reason an installation stops on the day.
• Power. A 220V/60HZ/1PH hydraulic system is standard, with 110V/60HZ/1PH available as an option. Decide before it ships and get the circuit run in advance.
• The base plate. Make sure everything you roll across the bay can cross it, and that it does not land on a floor drain or an expansion joint.

Two cylinders, and what that buys you

Each column carries its own hydraulic chain-drive cylinder off a single power unit, rather than one cylinder dragging both sides through a linkage. The effect shows up with a real vehicle rather than on a spec sheet: a pickup with a heavy engine forward and an empty bed is an offset load, and on a lift whose sides do not track together that difference is absorbed by the arms, the pads and the vehicle instead of by the structure. Two cylinders in step also keep the mechanical locks engaging at matching heights on both columns.

A release on both sides, and guardrails with a tool box in them

The safety locks hold a raised vehicle on steel, not on hydraulic pressure, so lowering means releasing them — and here that release is manual and duplicated on both columns. You are not walking around a loaded lift to find one handle. Two smaller details tell you this was drawn by somebody who has worked in a bay: rubber pads protect the door-opening area, so a door swung open at working height meets rubber rather than painted steel, and the feet-protection guardrails at the base double as a tool box, which sounds like a gimmick until you notice the alternative is a socket set on the floor exactly where the lift comes down.

Arms, adaptors and awkward vehicles

Arm reach is what usually decides whether a vehicle can be picked up at its designated lift points, and here it runs from 30.75" (780 mm) to 50.5" (1,280 mm) in two stages. The lift raises to 70.75" (1,800 mm) at the top of the pad, giving 67 inches of rise under the arms, and drops to 4.25" (110 mm) so a low car drives over the arms instead of onto ramps. Extension support adaptor sets of +30mm and +120mm come with the lift, which is what a truck or SUV with high pinch welds needs and what many lifts in this class charge extra for.

Specifications

Certification, stated plainly

Katool markets the KT-H100 as CE approved and certified, with the 115% dynamic and 150% static figures above. Take that for what it is. CE is a European conformity marking resting on the manufacturer's own declaration against European directives; it is not the same document as a North American third-party lift safety listing, and it does not stand in for one. For a private garage and for many independent shops the distinction never arises. It does arise for some commercial insurance policies, for fleet and municipal operations, and for jurisdictions whose code names a specific listing. Ask your insurer, your inspector or your employer what they require before you order, not after the lift is anchored to your floor.

Shipping and delivery

The KT-H100 ships by freight truck to addresses in the lower 48 states. Freight is quoted live at checkout against the address you enter, so what you see is a current carrier rate rather than an estimate that has aged. It arrives crated on a standard trailer and getting it to the ground is the receiver's responsibility — a forklift, a machine, or a plan and some help. Where that is not realistic, collecting from the carrier's local terminal is usually easier, because the terminal already has the equipment. A residential delivery address carries a residential fee, applied at checkout when you select that option.

Inspect before you sign. Walk the crate and the columns, look for crushed corners, gouges, shifted banding and oil, and write anything you find on the bill of lading while the driver is still there. Photograph it. A clean signature is the carrier's evidence that the shipment arrived undamaged.

Warranty

Katool publishes a written warranty document covering this lift. The terms are the manufacturer's to state and they change, so ask us for the current copy before you order if the coverage is part of your decision. One warning applies to every hydraulic lift whoever built it: if something fails, do not take the power unit, a cylinder or a lock mechanism apart before a claim is open. A disassembled component is normally treated as a modified one, which is the fastest way to lose coverage you would otherwise have had. Photograph the fault, note the serial number, and call first.
