Challenger CL10AV3-QC Versymmetric 2-Post Adjustable Lift

Read this section before you order. Our two records of the electrical supply for the CL10AV3-QC do not agree with each other. The specification block lists the motor as 3 HP, 208v-230v, 60 Hz, 1 Ph. A separate phase field in our own catalogue records this model as three-phase. Those are different supplies, they need different circuits, and an electrician cannot make one become the other on delivery day. Ask us to confirm the phase in writing before you order, and we will get it from Challenger rather than reading our own file back to you.

With that said and settled, here is what the lift is. QC is QuickCycle: the 10,000 lbs. Versymmetric platform fitted with the faster power unit, listed at a 27 second speed of rise, without the dual pendant controls that the -DPC variants add. It is the throughput upgrade on its own.

What QuickCycle buys, and who it does not suit

A quicker power unit pays back in short-interval work. Tyres, oil, inspections and brake jobs put a vehicle up and down several times each, and the seconds spent watching a carriage travel are dead in a way that is hard to reclaim - too brief to start anything else, long enough to interrupt what you were doing. Multiply that by the vehicle count in an express lane and the case makes itself.

It does not make itself in a diagnostic or restoration shop, where a car goes up once and stays up. If that describes your bay, the standard power unit does the same job for less money, and we would rather tell you that than sell you a speed you will never use.

Versymmetric arms: one lift, two spotting positions

The offset front arm geometry is what lets a single lift work symmetric and asymmetric in the same bay. Set a wide-door saloon back so the doors clear the columns; centre a long pickup between them for balance. On a fixed-geometry lift you pick one of those behaviours and live with it on every vehicle that wants the other.

Arms are 3-stage front and rear. The front pair reach 20 in. to 42 in., the rear pair 37.625 in. to 60 in. Screw pads are premium double telescoping and adjust through 3.875 in. to 6.125 in., so most manufacturers' recommended lift points are reached by turning a pad rather than by hunting for an adapter. Challenger's directSPOT front arm design exists to kill the reverse-out-and-try-again routine, which on a fast lane costs more time than the lift saves.

Wear points on a high-cycle lift

If you are buying this variant, you intend to cycle it hard, so the wear parts matter more than usual. The equalisation system runs a 5 in. diameter pulley with 5/16 in. cable - a bigger pulley gives the cable a gentler bend and less stress every single cycle. Carriages are 48 in. elongated, which spreads load over more of the column and slows the wear that eventually makes slides sloppy. The single-point lock release is pulley-less and jacketed: one pull frees both columns and there is no release pulley to seize up. Base plates are fully gusseted, arm restraints and pins are plated, and the finish is powder coat.

Will It Fit?

Standard build suits a 12 ft. ceiling, with 2 ft. and 3 ft. column extensions available. Floor to overhead switch is 10 ft. 8.5 in. to 11 ft. 2.5 in.

Three width settings run from 11 ft. 6.5 in. to 12 ft. 6.5 in. overall, giving 110 in., 116 in. or 122 in. between the insides of the columns and 100 in., 106 in. or 112 in. of drive-thru clearance. Rise height is 74.125 in. at the top of the pad, with 70 in. of maximum rise under the arms.

  • A second figure to confirm. Our specification block gives overall height as 11 ft. 2 in. or 11 ft. 8 in. by setting, and 11 ft. 11 in. with the cylinder extended. A different field in our catalogue records 143 in., 145 in. or 146 in. Both are in our data; they do not reconcile; ask us before you commit to a ceiling.
  • Concrete. Challenger's slab thickness and strength requirement is not in our product data and we will not invent one. Ask us for the installation manual before you drill.
  • Your responsibility. The slab, the anchors, the headroom and the electrical supply are all for the buyer to verify before delivery.

Perfect For

  • Express lanes and quick-service bays measured in vehicles per day.
  • Tyre shops where the lift cycles constantly and single-operator working is normal.
  • Independent shops replacing a slow lift that has become the queue.
  • Mixed car and light truck work that needs both spotting positions in one bay.

What's in the Box

  • Two columns with fully gusseted base plates and 48 in. elongated carriages
  • 3-stage front and rear arms with plated restraints and pins
  • Premium double telescoping screw pads
  • Pulley-less jacketed single-point lock release
  • Padded overhead shut-off
  • Standard dual integrated rubber door guards

Finished in red, blue or black. Accessories are ordered separately.

Certification, stated plainly

Our record for this configuration shows ALI and ETL certification marked yes - a third-party listing rather than a manufacturer's self-declaration, which is the distinction that matters when an insurer, a fleet policy or a local inspector asks. If a listing is a condition of your cover or a contract, get the requirement in writing and let us confirm the certificate matches the configuration you are buying.

Shipping and Delivery

Freight only, lower 48 states. You will need a forklift or a dock at the receiving end, or you can collect from the terminal; warehouse pickup is offered as well. Residential delivery is available for a fee. Freight is quoted live at checkout - carrier rates move, and a price typed into a description goes stale and turns into an argument.

Inspect the shipment before signing. Count what arrived against the packing list, look for crushing, punctures and banding that has been cut and refastened, and note anything at all on the bill of lading while the driver is there. Signing clean closes the carrier's side of it.

Warranty

Terms and the claim process live on our warranty claims page. There is no coverage period printed here because our data for this model holds a link and not a term - ask us and we will confirm what applies.

Raise a fault before anything comes apart. An opened power unit or a stripped column cannot be assessed, and that is how good claims turn into disputes. Photograph the problem, write down what the lift was doing when it happened, and leave it as it stands.
