Description
-Challenger Lifts AR4115XAO: open front, long deck, 15,000 lbs
The AR4115 is built in four combinations, and this one takes the two decisions that pull in opposite directions and does both. AR4115XAO is the open-front model on the long runway rack: a 210.5" maximum wheelbase with nothing across the front of the lift to work around. Long vehicles usually push a buyer towards the closed-front structure; this configuration does not make you choose.
The second thing worth knowing before you compare quotes: this configuration's sheet lists a galvanized deck upgrade as an available option, part number HDGUPGRADE, covering the runways, jack rails and turn plate pockets. The closed-front sheets in the same family mark that upgrade as not applicable. If your shop washes vehicles indoors, sees road salt every winter, or you simply intend to keep this lift for a very long time, that option is a real reason to be looking at this model rather than its sibling.
Around those decisions sits a 15,000 lbs four-post with 26" wide runways, 17 locking positions and a 78" rise.
Why an open front changes the work, not just the look
On a closed-front four-post there is structure across the front of the rack. On the AR4115XAO there is not. What that buys is line of sight and physical access to the front of the vehicle's frame and to the adjustment points a technician has to reach with a spanner and a torque wrench in the same hand.
The difference shows up most on alignment work, where somebody spends a long time under the front of the car making small adjustments and re-checking. It also shows up on the days when the job is not what you expected and the front of the frame is where the problem is. An open front is a working-position decision, and working position is what makes a technician fast or slow over a shift.
Louvered approach ramps
The AR4115 uses louvered approach ramps rather than diamond tread or abrasive strips, and this is a detail worth a paragraph because it is the difference between a car driving up and a car spinning a wheel. Diamond tread relies on a raised pattern that flattens with wear and fills with rubber, grease and grit. Abrasive strips wear smooth and then need replacing. Louvers are formed openings in the ramp plate — the edge of each louver presents a fresh biting edge to the tyre, and because they are formed into the plate rather than applied to it, they do not wear off the surface the way a coating does.
On a wet tyre on a cold morning that is the difference between a controlled drive-on and a scrabble, and on an alignment lift where the car is positioned precisely and often, it happens dozens of times a day.
Will It Fit?
The published minimum recommended bay size is 14' x 26'. That 26' is the number to check first, because it is what the long rack costs you in floor length.
- Overall. 277" long by 142" wide.
- Between columns. 222.5".
- Inside columns. The spec sheet gives front 120.75" and rear 125.5"; a second field on this listing rounds them to 121" and 125". They describe the same lift, but if your bay is tight enough for a quarter of an inch to matter, ask us and we will confirm against the current installation drawing before you order.
- Column height. The sheet gives front 99.25" and rear 98"; the same rounding appears here as 99" and 98". Measure your ceiling against the taller figure.
- Runways. 26" wide, 7" tall, set 40.625" apart.
- Rise and speed. 78" of rise, in about 85 seconds.
- Alignment window. Up to 195.25" for two-wheel work; 68" to 158" for four-wheel.
- Services. A 2HP motor on 208V-230V, 60Hz, 1Ph, and a 90 to 120 psi air supply.
Slab thickness and concrete strength are not part of the data we hold for this model, so we have not guessed at them. Request the installation drawing from us and have your floor checked against it. Confirming the slab, the ceiling and the electrical supply is the buyer's responsibility and all three are cheaper to establish before delivery.
Perfect For
- Alignment shops running long-wheelbase work — pickups, vans, the larger SUVs — that do not want to give up front access to get the length.
- Coastal and snow-belt shops where the galvanized upgrade is the reason this configuration is on the shortlist.
- Fleet workshops servicing a mixed roster where alignment is one of several jobs the bay has to do.
- Shops running imaging alignment equipment, which this rack is stated to be compatible with.
What ships with it
The rack itself: columns, 26" runways, the lifting and locking system, power unit and louvered approach ramps.
The alignment kit is optional and, in the manufacturer's own words, includes rolling jacks, an internal airline system and stainless steel turn plates. The galvanized coating upgrade is also an extra. Neither is part of the base listing, so if you are equipping a working alignment bay from scratch, ask us to quote the kit with the lift.

Certification, plainly
This model's sheet records it as ALI/ETL certified. The value of that is narrow and specific: a third-party lift safety listing is the thing an insurer, a corporate safety policy or a local inspector names in writing, and a lift that holds one takes the conversation off the table.
The requirement is still yours to define. Send us the exact wording your insurer or inspector uses and we will check it against current documentation for this configuration before you order, not afterwards.
Shipping and delivery
This lift ships as freight to the lower 48 states, and the freight charge is calculated live at checkout for your own address rather than printed here — lane rates move, and a figure written into a description goes stale quietly.
Work out the unload before the shipment is booked. Freight is delivered to the kerb and taking it off the trailer is the receiver's responsibility, so either a forklift or telehandler rated for the crate needs to be waiting, or you arrange collection from the carrier's local terminal — often the easier route for a shop without its own handling equipment. Warehouse pickup is offered on this listing as well. A residential delivery address carries a residential fee, which is applied at checkout when that option is chosen.
Check the freight before signing for it. Count the crates against the packing list, walk the load with the driver, and note anything at all on the bill of lading — scuffed paint, split banding, a corner that has taken a knock. Once a clean bill of lading is signed the carrier's exposure ends, and a claim opened the next day rarely goes anywhere.
Warranty
Warranty on this lift runs through Challenger. The specification data behind this listing records a warranty reference rather than a stated duration, and we are not going to print a term we cannot verify. Ask us and we will confirm the terms currently applying to your configuration, or read our warranty claims page.
Whatever the term proves to be, one rule saves claims: leave the failed part alone. A power unit or cylinder that has already been opened is very hard for anyone to adjudicate, and disassembly is the single most common reason a covered failure turns into an argument. Photograph it in place and call us first.
