31 locking positions, which is the spec that makes a tall lift useful

A four-post lift that rises high is only as good as the heights it will stop at. The HD-7PXW has 31 locking positions, spaced every 4" (102 mm) the whole way up a maximum rise of 140.25" (3,562 mm). That is roughly twice as many stops as a standard-height four-post offers, and it is the difference between parking a car at the height you want and parking it at the nearest height the lift will allow.

It matters because of what this lift is bought for. At 7,000 lbs. (3,175 kg) capacity and 12-feet of lifting height it is a stacking, storage and display platform as much as a service lift — and when you are fitting a car above another car, or setting a vehicle at eye level in a showroom, the useful height is rarely one of four convenient notches.

Two runway lengths on one page, and we are showing you both

Runway length decides which wheelbases fit, so it is one of the few dimensions on a four-post lift that a buyer really does have to get right. Our two sources give it differently.

The product description currently on this page Extended 188” runways
BendPak published specification, line K 182.25" (4,629 mm)

Nearly six inches is not a rounding difference, and we cannot resolve it from what we hold. If runway length decides whether your vehicle sits properly on the lift, ask us to confirm it in writing before you order and we will get the figure from the manufacturer rather than publishing the more generous one. For planning, note that the overall length including ramps is 213" (5,688 mm) whichever runway figure turns out to be correct, and the minimum wheelbase table below is unaffected by the disagreement.

Will It Fit?

  • Ceiling. Columns stand 158" (4,013 mm). Maximum rise is 140.25" and maximum lifting height 145.25", with the top lock at 143.82". Measure to the lowest thing over the bay — a light, a duct, a door track — not to the ridge.
  • Floor. 198" (5,029 mm) long, or 213" including the approach ramps, by 110.25" wide.
  • Getting past it. Drive-thru clearance 86.5", about 7.20 ft; width between the columns 100.25", about 8.35 ft.
  • Runways. 19" wide, set 35" or 41" apart with outside edges at 75.75" or 82". Both settings are chosen at installation.
  • Lowered and powered. Minimum runway height 5" (127 mm), a full cycle in 60 Seconds, and a motor rated 208-230 VAC / 50-60 Hz / 1Ph running at 45 dB.

Our record does not state a concrete thickness or strength for this lift. On a column this tall that matters more than usual, quite literally — a taller column applies more leverage to its anchors from the same load. The figure is in the installation manual linked on this page and we will confirm it in writing on request. Verifying ceiling height, slab and electrical supply before delivery is the buyer's responsibility.

The wheelbase table, and why a display lift needs it

A four-post rating assumes weight spread along the runways. Short and heavy concentrates it between fewer support points and the lift derates:

Usable capacity Minimum wheelbase
Full rated capacity 135" (3,429 mm)
75% capacity 115" (2,921 mm)
50% capacity 95" (2,413 mm)
25% capacity 80" (2,032 mm)

Per-axle limits are 3,500 lbs. (1,588 kg) front and rear. For a lift that spends its life holding a stored or displayed vehicle rather than a serviced one, read this table as a permanent condition rather than a peak rating: whatever sits up there is sitting on those numbers for months.

One cylinder, four cables, and what happens if one lets go

A single hydraulic cylinder sits beneath the power-side runway. That is a deliberate simplification — one set of seals, one hose, no synchronisation problem between corners — and the levelling job is done instead by four aircraft-quality cables running over oversized, self-lubricating rollers on rugged 1.25” roller axles. The cable is heavy-duty 3/8” aircraft cable. A bigger roller is a gentler bend radius, and a gentler bend is a cable that survives more cycles before it frets.

Internal anti-sway slider blocks in each column stop the carriages rocking as the load moves, which on a tall lift is what stops a stored car feeling alive when somebody leans on it. The locks are spring-loaded and engage continuously as the lift rises, with adjustable lock ladders so the runways can be levelled precisely even where the floor is not, and one push-button pneumatic release disengages all four at once. Ramps have a non-skid surface, which is a small thing until you load a wet car.

Perfect For

  • Dealerships and showrooms displaying stock above the floor, where the exact display height is an aesthetic decision as much as a practical one.
  • Two-car and three-car storage in a tall garage or unit.
  • Collections and seasonal storage, where a vehicle sits on the locks for months at a time.
  • Service and inspection work on cars and light trucks within the rated capacity, using the low 5" (127 mm) runway height to load without ramps fighting a low front lip.

What's in the Box

From this model's own feature list: the four-post structure with adjustable-width runways and non-skid ramps, four aircraft-quality cables, the single hydraulic cylinder mounted underneath the runway, the electric-hydraulic power system, oversized self-lubricating cable rollers on 1.25” roller axles, 3/8” aircraft cable, multi-position safety locks in each column with adjustable lock ladders, push-button pneumatic safety release and internal anti-sway slider blocks. Rolling jacks, drip trays and drive-through ramps are accessories rather than inclusions — worth deciding at order time, because a storage lift that later needs to do a brake job is a lift that needs jacks.

Certification, stated honestly

We hold no third-party safety listing for this lift, and we would rather say so than write around it. That is a statement about our documents, not about the machine.

An independent North American lift safety listing means an outside body has examined the design and listed the product; a manufacturer's own declaration is a different document and does not replace it. Insurers, fleet policies and some local code officials ask specifically for the independent kind — more likely to come up in a dealership or a commercial unit than in a private garage. If it is a condition for you, ask us in writing before you order.

Shipping and delivery

Freight only, to the lower 48 states, priced live at checkout for your own address — which is why no shipping figure appears on this page.

Delivery is kerbside. Arrange unloading first: a forklift and an operator on site, or collection from the freight terminal, which for a crate this size is often the easier route. Warehouse pickup is available for this brand from our BendPak locations, and a residential address carries a residential fee. Inspect the shipment before you sign and write any damage onto the bill of lading at the time — a clean signature makes a later claim very hard to win.

Warranty

The manufacturer's warranty document is linked on this page; read the term and the exclusions there rather than any summary of them. Whatever the terms, never dismantle a component you intend to claim on — photograph the fault, leave it assembled and contact us first. A stripped part is the usual reason a sound claim is refused.
