Description
-16AP-192: an extended-height beam, and the adapter set already in the crate
Two things separate the 16AP-192 from the standard-height lift it is based on, and both are the kind of detail that only shows up when you are standing in the bay.
The first is the beam. This is the extended-height version, 193 in. / 4,904 mm overall, with the top switch at 186.5 in. / 4,738 mm — built for shops where a tall van or a box body has to go all the way up without the roof meeting the crossbar. The second is what arrives with it: a twelve-piece set of lifting adapters, made up of four frame cradle pads, four medium stacking adapters and four tall stacking adapters, plus storage to keep them together. Anyone who has run a two-post lift knows the alternative — a milk crate of mismatched blocks, and a search every time an unfamiliar chassis rolls in.
Underneath that it is a 16,000 lbs two-post lift. Worth stating plainly, because the series copy mentions both sizes: the AP Series spans 16,000 lbs and 20,000 lbs models, and this one is the 16,000 lbs machine.
Will It Fit?
The extended beam is the whole point of this model and also the thing most likely to stop it going in. Measure the building first.
- Ceiling. Overall height is 193 in. / 4,904 mm and the floor-to-top-switch height is 186.5 in. / 4,738 mm. If your roof cannot take that, the standard-height version of this lift is the one to look at instead.
- Floor width. 168 in. / 4,267 mm overall, 149 in. / 3,785 mm outside the posts, 126 in. / 3,199 mm inside them — 10.5 ft between columns. Base plates are 28 in. / 710 mm and sit 9.5 in. / 241 mm out from each post.
- Drive-through. 107.75 in. / 2,740 mm between the carriages, about 9 ft.
- Working height. Under-clearance at the top lock is 76 in. / 1,930 mm; with adapters the maximum lifting height is 89.75 in. / 2,280 mm, roughly 7.45 ft to the top of the arms.
- Arm reach. 36 in. / 931 mm at minimum, extending to 65 in. / 1,651 mm.
- Power. 220 VAC, 60 Hz, 1 Phase, running under 70 dB.
Verifying the ceiling, the floor plan and the supply is down to the buyer, and a lift that will not stand up in the room is not a warranty question. Our record for this model does not state a required concrete thickness or strength; on a two-post lift every pound goes through the anchors into the slab, so that is not a figure to guess at. It is in the installation manual linked on this page and we will confirm it in writing before you order if you ask.
Where our own sources disagree
Shown rather than smoothed over, because both figures can decide a purchase.
| Measurement | Source | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum height with pad | BendPak published specification, line D | 7.75 in. / 195 mm |
| Minimum pad height | A separate field in our catalogue record | 8 in. |
| Maximum rise | BendPak published specification, line B2 | 82.75 in. / 2,102 mm |
| Maximum rise under the arms | A separate field in our catalogue record | 82 in. |
The published top-lock lifting height for this model is 82.25 in. / 2,089 mm, which sits between the two rise figures and is part of why the record is muddled. If the pad height governs whether a low car can be loaded, or the rise governs your ceiling, ask us to confirm the number in writing before you order — we will get it from the manufacturer rather than quote whichever field reads best.
Eight bearings a carriage, and a lift that lowers gently
Each ultra-tall lifting carriage runs on eight UHMW load bearings. The reason there are eight rather than four is the height of the carriage itself: a tall carriage on a tall column has more leverage working on it, and spreading both radial and axial forces across more bearing surfaces is what stops it binding at the top of its travel. The columns themselves are multi-face rather than single-formed, which distributes load across several faces under the combined downward-and-sideways loading a vehicle actually applies.
There is also a lift dampener on the lowering circuit, which is the sort of feature nobody puts in a headline and everybody notices. It softens the descent instead of dropping the last stretch, so a vehicle settles onto its wheels rather than landing on them.
Locks, equalisation and restraint
Safety locks sit in each column at 4" spacing and the mechanisms are redundant — more than one holds the carriage, by design, rather than one lock and a hope. A failsafe mechanical equalisation system keeps the two carriages travelling together, and full-perimeter 360 degree arm restraints hold the arms against movement whenever the lift is loaded. A padded overhead shutoff bar stops the carriage before a vehicle roof reaches the beam, and the electric-hydraulic power system is driven from push-button controls placed where an operator's hands already are.
Perfect For
- Fleet and municipal shops with tall vans, box bodies and utility vehicles that need full rise.
- Airport, emergency and depot workshops where ceiling height is available and vehicle height is the constraint.
- High-bay independent garages that want one lift to cover a car and a large commercial van.
- Any shop tired of hunting for adapters, given the set and its storage come with the lift.
What's in the Box
- Twelve-piece lifting adapter set: four frame cradle pads, four medium stacking adapters, four tall stacking adapters
- Storage for the adapters
- Dual direct-drive hydraulic cylinders
- Electric-hydraulic power system with push-button controls
- Multi-adjustable telescoping arms with full-perimeter arm restraints
- Padded overhead safety shutoff bar and the lift dampener lowering control

Certification, stated plainly
Our product record for this particular model does not carry a third-party safety-listing document. That is a statement about our data rather than a judgement on the lift — such a document may exist and simply not be recorded against this listing. The distinction to understand is between a manufacturer declaring conformity on its own authority and an independent body examining the design and issuing a listing, because insurers, fleet policies and some local code officials ask specifically for the second kind. If that applies to your workshop, ask us in writing before you order and we will obtain a written answer from the manufacturer rather than let you assume.
Shipping and delivery
Freight only, within the lower 48 states. The cost is quoted live at checkout for your own address, which is why no shipping figure is printed here.
Delivery stops at the kerb. Work out beforehand how the crate comes off the truck — a forklift or telehandler on site, or collection from the freight terminal, which is often the simplest option for a lift with columns this tall. Residential addresses carry a residential fee, and warehouse pickup is available for this brand. Inspect the crate on arrival and note any damage on the bill of lading before you sign; once a clean signature is on the paperwork a damage claim is very hard to pursue.
Warranty
The warranty document linked on this page is the one that governs — read the term and the exclusions there, not a summary. Regardless of what it says: never disassemble a component you intend to claim on. Photograph the fault, leave the assembly alone and contact us first. Taking a part apart is the single most reliable way to lose a claim that would otherwise have been paid.
