Autostacker A6S: a parking lift with nothing standing beside your car doors

Most ways of stacking two vehicles put steel where you need to walk. Four-post storage lifts plant a column at each corner; two-post lifts put one on each side of the bay. The A6S uses a zero-post scissor design instead, so the lifting structure lives under the deck rather than beside it. Nothing is parked next to the door of the car underneath, which is the difference between a garage you can still use and a garage you now edge around.

It carries 6,000 lbs. and fits inside a conventional single bay: 103" overall width, 143" overall length. This is the standard-width model of the pair, sized for cars, crossovers and normal-track SUVs rather than dual-rear-wheel trucks.

Standard width is a specification, not a compromise

A 103" overall width means the A6S drops into a bay that was drawn for one car and a bit of shelving. The platform itself is 83.75" across and runs the full 124" of usable length. You are not required to give up the walkway down the side of your garage to install it, and that is normally what decides whether a home garage lift gets used or resented.

Will It Fit?

Take four measurements before ordering. Every one of them is on the spec table further down this page.

  • Height available. The A6S locks at five heights, topping out at 81.25". Add the height of the vehicle you plan to store above to the lock height you intend to use, then leave room for garage door hardware and lights. Low ceiling? The lowest lock at 52.5" exists for exactly that.
  • Width available. 103" overall, plus door-swing room for the car parked underneath.
  • Depth available. 143" front to back.
  • Supply available. The standard console runs on 208-240V single-phase; the optional multi-unit console is a three-phase device. Confirm which one you are ordering against the service in your building.

The slab, the electrical work and site access are the buyer's responsibility. Our data for this lift does not publish a required concrete thickness or compressive strength, so we will not quote one — take it from the installation manual on this page and have the floor assessed before the lift ships. If you would rather we checked a dimension against the factory drawings first, contact us and we will.

Doors, dings and a low-profile deck

Two design decisions on this lift are aimed squarely at the thing owners actually damage: doors. The deck is full-width and low-profile, so the car above is driven onto a flat surface rather than threaded between rails. And because the scissor structure sits beneath the platform, the vehicle stored below opens its doors into open air. The entry ramp is 2" high against a 13" forward platform height, which keeps the approach angle shallow enough for a low front lip.

What the safety system actually does

Three mechanisms are published for this lift, and they cover three different failure modes. A key-switch disconnect stops the lift being operated by someone who should not be operating it — relevant in a household, decisive in a shop. Emergency stop buttons cut a movement in progress. And the safety latches engage continuously as the lift rises, rather than only at the top, so an interruption partway through a lift still parks the load on steel instead of on hydraulic pressure. That last property is the one that matters for storage: a car left up for a season rests on mechanical locks.

Removable deck panels, and what they are for

Deck panels are listed as an option rather than a fitted part. Removed, the platform becomes an open frame you can reach through — useful when the lift is being used for access to the vehicle above rather than purely for storage. Fitted, you get a solid full-width surface that catches drips off the upper car and keeps them off the one below. Specify them at order time; it is a decision that is awkward to reverse later.

Perfect For

  • Home garages of ordinary width. This is the model that fits a bay drawn for one car.
  • Two-car households with a one-car garage. Vertical space you already pay for, put to work.
  • Seasonal and collector storage. Mechanical locks and 52 db operation suit a vehicle that sits for months.
  • Commercial parking and valet operations. The optional multi-unit console makes a row of lifts one system.
  • Anyone who values the walkway. Zero-post construction is the reason to look at this rather than a four-post storage lift.

What's in the Box

The lift with its standard single-unit power unit console, which is a 2HP unit. The multi-unit console and the removable deck panels are both options and arrive only if they are ordered. No itemised packing list is published in the data we hold, so we are not going to write one from guesswork — if a particular bracket, anchor or fitting matters to your installer, ask us in writing and we will confirm it against the factory documentation.

Key numbers at a glance

The full manufacturer specification table is further down this page. These are the five figures buyers ask about most.

Capacity 6,000 lbs. (2,722 kg)
Overall footprint 103" wide by 143" long
Platform 124" long by 83.75" wide
Lock height range 52.5" up to 81.25", five positions
Shipping weight 3,350 lbs. (1,530 kg.)

Certification, stated honestly

We will not badge this lift with an approval its published data does not claim. Nothing in the manufacturer material we hold states that the A6S carries an independent, third-party North American safety listing for vehicle lifts — a tested approval issued by an outside body, which is a different thing from the manufacturer's own capacity rating. For a residential garage that usually changes nothing. For a shop, a dealership storage deck or an insured commercial parking operation it can change everything, because insurers, fleet policies and some local codes name that listing specifically. Check what your situation requires before you commit, not afterwards.

Shipping and delivery

Freight only, to the lower 48 states, priced live at checkout for your exact address rather than from a table. Plan the unload before the truck books: you will need a forklift, a dock, or a decision to collect from the carrier's terminal yourself. Residential delivery attracts an additional fee and it is applied at checkout, so you will see it before you pay. When the shipment arrives, walk the crate before signing. Damage written on the bill of lading at the kerb is a claim; damage discovered after a clean signature usually is not.

Warranty

No warranty term is stated in the product data we hold for the A6S, so none is quoted here; warranty handling runs through our warranty claims page. Whatever the term turns out to be, one rule protects it: leave a suspected faulty assembly alone. Photograph it, keep it whole, and talk to us before anything is taken apart. Disassembly before a claim is assessed is the most common way a valid warranty claim stops being one.
