Description
-Atlas TTC303 Super Duty Truck Tire Changer
The number that decides whether the TTC303 is your machine is the rim clamping range: 14" to 46" as delivered, and 47" to 56" once the extensions go on. That upper figure is the whole argument for this changer. Plenty of truck tire machines stop in the twenties, which covers over-the-road wheels and nothing else. A tractor rim, a skidder wheel, a large off-road assembly or a super single lives above that line, and a machine that cannot clamp it is not slow at the job — it simply cannot do the job.
Behind that range sits 13,173 lbs of clamping power through an electric/hydraulic self-centering four jaw chuck with five rim locking positions, a bead breaker rated at 5,930 lbs of force, and a single-piece frame with a solid floor plate. The TTC303 is a joint development between an Italian wheel service manufacturer and an Asian wheel service equipment builder, and it has been sold internationally for several years — this is a mature design rather than a first production run.
Where the size limits actually bite
Four measurements decide whether a given wheel assembly fits, and it is worth checking all four against the biggest thing you handle, not the average.
- Rim clamping range: 14" - 46" standard, 47" - 56" with the extensions fitted.
- Maximum tire diameter: 90 1/2" (7' 6 1/2") — a hair over seven and a half feet of tire standing on the shop floor.
- Maximum tire width: 42", which is what admits the wide flotation and super single assemblies.
- Maximum wheel weight: 3,300 lbs on the chuck.
One honest caveat about the small end of that range. Atlas's own product overview has described this machine as handling rim sizes from 4-1/4 inches upward, while the feature list and the specification table both give a clamping range starting at 14". Those are not the same claim, and we are not going to pick the one that sounds better. If your work includes genuinely small-bore rims, confirm the minimum clamping size with us before you order and we will get it in writing from the manufacturer. For everything from a light truck wheel upward, the 14" figure is the one to plan against.
Manual tool positioning — a deliberate trade, not a shortcoming
Tool arm positioning and tool head positioning on the TTC303 are manual. Atlas builds an automated machine in the same family, and it costs more and clamps a smaller range. What manual positioning gets you here is fewer powered axes on a machine that is already handling enormous, awkward, out-of-round agricultural and off-road assemblies — the sort of work where an operator's hands on the tool arm are often faster than a control input anyway, and where there is simply less to go wrong.
The operator works from a wired mobile control unit, so you stand where you can see the bead rather than where the machine happens to put a panel. On a tire this size that is a safety feature as much as a convenience one: the bead is the thing that hurts people, and being able to watch it while you drive the chuck matters.
Acoustic pressure is rated at 70dBA. That is a normal-conversation noise level, which for a hydraulic machine of this size is worth knowing if the changer is going into a bay next to a service desk.
Will It Fit? Power and air
The TTC303 runs on 220v, 1-phase electric, with a 30 amp breaker required. Both the hydraulic motor and the chuck motor are 2 HP units, and both are specified at 220v +/- 5% (209-231 volts). That tolerance band is worth taking seriously: a long undersized feed to the far corner of a shop can sag out of the bottom of it under load, and a motor fed below spec runs hot and dies early. Have the circuit run properly, and have the voltage checked at the machine rather than at the panel.
Operating pressure runs 0 - 1885 psi through the hydraulic system. Floor and siting are your responsibility: the machine has a single-piece frame with a solid floor plate and it ships at 1,800 lbs, so it wants flat, sound concrete and clear working space on every side for a tire that may be over seven feet across. Confirm the mounting requirements in the manual — linked on this page — before you pour or drill.
Perfect For
- High-volume truck tire centers — the core case. Standard over-the-road wheel assemblies all day, with the headroom to take the oversized jobs a smaller machine turns away.
- Agricultural dealers and large farms — tractor and implement rims are exactly what the 47" - 56" extension range exists for.
- Off-road, forestry and earthmoving fleets — skidder and loader assemblies, where the alternative is sending the wheel out and waiting.
- Mixed commercial shops — if oversized tire work is a service you currently decline, this is the machine that stops you declining it.

Certification, stated plainly
The manufacturer data we hold for the TTC303 does not include any third-party safety or conformity listing, and we are not going to put a badge on this page that the paperwork does not support. That is a statement about our documentation, not an allegation about the machine.
It is worth checking if you are buying into a regulated environment. Some commercial insurers, most fleet and government purchasing rules, and some workplace safety programs want independently listed equipment and will ask for the certificate itself. If that is you, ask before you order and we will request the current documentation from the manufacturer rather than guess on your behalf.
Shipping and delivery
The TTC303 ships as freight to the lower 48. Freight is quoted live at checkout against your real address, so what you see is a current rate rather than a figure typed into a page a year ago.
Work out the unload before you buy. At 1,800 lbs crated this comes off the trailer on a forklift. If you have not got one, take terminal pickup and collect it with your own equipment. Delivery to a residential address is available and carries a residential fee — say so at checkout and the shipment gets booked right the first time.
Inspect before you sign. Check the crate and the accessory cartons against the packing list, and note any damage, shortage or crushing on the bill of lading in front of the driver. Once you sign clean, the carrier's record says the shipment arrived complete and undamaged, and a claim raised later is a much harder case. Photograph anything suspect while it is still on the truck.
Warranty
The TTC303 carries a 1 Year parts only warranty. Parts only means the covered component is supplied; labor, freight and any lifting equipment needed to fit it are the owner's cost.
The rule that protects a claim on a hydraulic machine: do not disassemble a component before the claim is approved. An opened pump, cylinder or valve block is normally treated as no longer inspectable, and a claim that would have been paid can be refused for that reason alone. Photograph the fault, note what the machine was doing when it happened, call us, and let the claim be opened first. Keep proof of the supply voltage and the commissioning check — on motor and hydraulic claims those records do real work.
