Description
-Atlas PV10PX: an overhead two-post whose height you choose at installation
Overhead two-post lifts usually arrive at one height and your ceiling either takes it or it does not. The PV10PX does not work that way. It is built to two different overall heights — 143 1/8" (11' 11 1/8") or 147" (12' 3") — decided when you stand it up. On a lift where the overhead crossbar is the single most common reason an order goes back, being able to build the same machine three and a half inches shorter is a genuinely useful piece of engineering, and it is buried in a bullet on every other listing of this SKU.
Underneath that it is a 10,000 lbs commercial-grade two-post with symmetric and asymmetric arm positions, direct-drive cylinders and automatic arm restraints — a lift for a working bay or a serious home garage that handles everything from a hatchback to a one-ton diesel pickup.
Will It Fit?
Two-post lifts are decided by three things: ceiling, slab and circuit. All three are yours to confirm before the freight arrives.
- Ceiling. Build it at 143 1/8" (11' 11 1/8") or at 147" (12' 3"). If your roof structure, a garage door track or a light fitting sits low, the shorter build is what makes the room work. Measure to the lowest obstruction, not to the highest part of the ceiling.
- Slab. A minimum of 4" of concrete at a 3000 psi rating. This is not a suggestion — a two-post transfers the entire load into the anchors, and an unknown-age residential slab is the most common thing standing between a buyer and a safe installation. If you do not know what you have, core it or have it tested.
- Power. 220 volt single phase, with a 30 amp breaker recommended. That is an electrician's job for most garages, and it is worth booking before the lift ships rather than after.
- Floor width. 145" (11' 11") overall including the motor, with 125 1/2" (10' 5 1/2") from the outside of one column to the outside of the other.
- Drive-through. 96 1/4" (8' 1/4") in the symmetric arm position, 90 1/4" (7' 6 1/4") asymmetric. The clear width inside the columns is 110 1/8" (9' 2 1/8").
- Fluid. 3-5 Gallons of AW32/AW46 hydraulic oil, not included.
Confirming ceiling height, concrete thickness and strength, and the electrical supply is the customer's responsibility. We are glad to talk any of it through before you order — a lift that cannot be anchored safely is far worse than a lift that never shipped.
Where our two sources disagree
We would rather show you this than quietly pick one. Two figures for the PV10PX's shipping weight are in circulation and they do not match:
| Shipping weight, per the feature list on this page | 1,875 lbs |
|---|---|
| Shipping weight, per the stored factory specification | 1,900 lbs |
The gap is small but it is the number that drives your unloading plan, so if you are arranging equipment to the pound, confirm with us before delivery and we will check it against the crate. We have not averaged them or picked the friendlier one.
Symmetric and asymmetric from the same lift
The PV10PX takes both arm configurations. That is not a marketing line, it is a working decision you make per vehicle. Symmetric places the car centred between the columns and gives the wider 96 1/4" drive-through; asymmetric rotates the columns and shortens the front arms so the vehicle sits back, letting the doors open clear of the posts. If you work on cars you also have to get in and out of — your own, or a customer's — asymmetric is the setting you will live in. Being able to choose, on the same lift, is worth more than either mode alone.
Arms are held by automatic arm restraints, which engage as the lift rises and stop an arm swinging out from under a pad. The columns carry padded carriages, and the overhead beam carries a padded shut-off bar that cuts the lift before a roof reaches the crossbar. Both are cheap parts that prevent expensive damage: a scuffed door edge and a crushed roofline are the two ways a two-post costs you a repair bill instead of saving you one.
A twelve-piece adapter set, not the usual eight
The PV10PX ships with a free 12 piece truck adapter set, where many lifts at this capacity include eight. Adapter heights are 4 each of 1.25", 2.5" and 5", on a 1.5" arm hole and peg. In practice the extra pieces are what let you reach a pickup's pinch weld or frame rail without stacking, and stacked adapters are how vehicles come off lifts. Minimum arm height is 4 1/2", and maximum lift height is 72 1/2" without adapters or 81 1/4" with them.
Perfect For
- The independent repair shop needing a full-height bay that takes cars and light trucks on the same lift.
- The home garage with an ordinary ceiling, where the shorter of the two build heights is the difference between yes and no.
- Fleet and municipal shops within the 10,000 lbs rating.
- Restoration work, where asymmetric arm positioning and door clearance matter every single day.
What's in the Box
The free 12 piece truck adapter set and the mounting hardware are both included per the manufacturer's own list. Hydraulic oil, concrete anchors beyond the supplied hardware, and any air supply for accessories are not. Some assembly and a competent installation are required; this is a lift that should be anchored and commissioned by someone who has done it before.

Certification, honestly
The published data for this lift does not state a third-party safety listing, so we are not going to display one. North America has an independent lift-safety listing programme — a testing and periodic-audit scheme against a published standard, which is a different thing from a manufacturer stating that its own product conforms. Some commercial insurers, fleet policies and municipal inspectors specifically require equipment carrying it. If any of those apply to your bay, check the requirement with them before you order, and tell us what you are being asked for; we would rather point you at the right lift than sell you this one twice.
Shipping and delivery
This is a freight shipment to the lower 48. It travels crated on a pallet, it is delivered curbside, and getting it off the truck is the customer's job — a forklift, a skid steer with forks, or a scheduled terminal pickup where you collect with your own equipment. Warehouse pickup is available at the locations shown further down this page. A delivery to a residential address carries an additional fee, charged once per brand on the order rather than once per item. Before the driver leaves, open or at least walk the crate: check the column ends, the carriage faces and the power unit box, and record anything you find on the bill of lading. A clean signature closes the door on most freight claims.
Warranty
5 yr structural and 2 yr hydraulic, parts only. Parts only is worth reading twice — the components are covered, the labour to fit them is not, so factor that in if you will be paying a technician. Do not dismantle a cylinder, hose or power unit before the claim is opened; disassembly is normally treated as an inspection you chose to carry out and can end the claim there. Take the lift out of service, photograph what failed, and raise it through our warranty claims page.
